As an annex to the main hotel I was surprised by the cleanliness of the room and bathroom facilities.(it is the first time we have slept in an 8 foot bed. Recommend it to everyone!!) The main hotel had a very nice lounge/bar and if it had been spring the patio and garden area were very enticing. Breakfast was excellent and the service of a very high quality. (I dont think my coffee cup was ever empty) Car parking was very good and the hotel was only a short walk from the seafront and cliffs, also all the towns further attractions were within walking distance. We will be booking again!!!!!!

The service was pleasant both at reception and breakfast. Central location good . The room in the lodge was just about adequate with poor tv reception .The iron I borrowed from house keeping was dirty and scaly and left brown marks on my nice clean white shirt and the ironing cover was a sight for sore eyes.

We did not like the fact that we were in the lodge and not in the main hotel and having to goto the main hotel for our meals,we were not told this when booking. The room was very cramped (222) and the appartments opposit looked straight into the room.We would not recomend this hotel.

Bathroom was too small for anyone over 5 ft tall and 100lb weight. It was cramped, difficult to use the toilet and not efficient; there was no place for toiletries. Very poor

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The facilites available are 2nd to none. We were B&B only and cannot find a single fault with the breakfast with a vast variety of options available. We would certainly being looking to book again at this location when we visit Bornemouth again.

Nothing, it started off bad and did'nt get anybetter, although I enjoyed the breakfast The receptionist was no help for anything, the rooms were batterd and unclean, the beds were 2 pushed together and very uncomfortable, for £80 a night you don't expect much but this place should have been £50 a night at most.

Staff very professional and helpful. Our room was very large, although furniture quite dated. Bathroom was obviously recently renewed with double shower. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and quality of cooked breakfast was very high. Parking at hotel was very good and was easy walking distance to beach, shops and BIC.

The room was very large and exceptionally clean and tidy. So many hotels are very tatty. The shower was huge and the bathroom was bright with hand wash, body/hand wash and shower gel/shampoo supplied and well topped up and static containers. The room was warm and was very quiet too. Lovely breakfast in a very spacious dining room. The only thing which didn't work for us was that the television was on the right hand wall by the bed which meant the person on the left of the bed could not look at the screen head-on which was uncomfortable.

The Restaurant the entrance doors to the rooms need some WD40. It is very annoying when some guests can't make up their mind whether to leave the room or not. Then the doors are squeaking like one is sitting right next to it.

“This was our first trip to The Cumberland Hotel. What a delight! The Hotel is decorated In Art Deco style in vibrant Red, Black,Silver and Glass...STUNNING!! They have soft music in the background that relate to the time of day, very nicely slotting in to the mood changes as the day moves to night..Clever - rather than the usual "elevator" style that a lot of Hotel tend to have. Our welcome first kicked in when we checked in at Reception. The Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helpful. We had only booked for one night but was able to stay on for another night with no problem at all. We were early so she took our bags from us and we were able to explore the Hotel. We had a sandwich and drink by the pool which was brilliant! The pool was inviting and the set up outside with the seating and tables was really nice. Everywhere we walked, the staff looked up and smiled, genuine welcome smiles not the plastic aloof smiles that are in so many Hotels these days! We ate in the Hotel on both our evenings. The Brasserie Grill one night and the Mirabelle Restaurant the other. The meals that the Chef cooked were delicious. Presentation and taste sublime! Service was superb in both places. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with the only downside being that we are used to a King size bed so the Double for us was small! Next time we are going for the Sea View with Balcony with the Kingsize bed! Breakfast was delicious with the usual Buffet Style on offer. If you wanted Kippers or something that was not the usual Full English, you only had to ask! I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fruit on offer. The choice of Prunes, Grapefruit and Melon is a tad outdated. Lots of places that we have stayed have a larger variety on offer ie: Kiwi Fruit/ Melon Selection/ Bananas/ Grapes etc with more of a choice in Yoghurts too. There was bowl of fruit available. We are definitely going back to this Hotel, we cannot praise it enough!!” Gerald, Yateley |
