The out-of-this-world aura.
The rather over-used comfortable chair
the outside of hotel
the room it was awful lights didn't work etc a letter of complaint as been sent to you
This is a really impressive building with amazing architectural features such as a very grand stairway and lovely lounge area with floor to ceiling windows. The grounds are pleasant and very well kept. It is up a country lane so the surroundings were lovely and quiet. Breakfast was good and the garden room where it was served was nice
The room was very clean but some of the fixtures looked quite old and tired. There were a few stains on the carpet. The soundproofing between the next room meant that noise from the neighbours did come through particularly if they were in the bathroom
The location. The grand building:Impressive ground floor rooms and staircase. Pleasent staff.
Room basic and in need of re-furbishment; didnt match quality of the rest of the house. Pidgeons making a mess on the fine collumms.
The setting and grounds
The hotel is being run down as closing at end of month - and it feels like it. I booked this hotel as close to where I needed to be for business and I could eat at the restaurant as travelling alone. Only when I asked about dining times was I told that the restaurant was only open Mon-Thurs. Hotel is isolated down an unmade, mile long lane with nowhere nearby to eat. I was told this was stated on Booking.com & hotel's website (wasn't). Sooner it closes the better.
Staff are lovely. The room was small, but the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very quiet as it's far from the main road. Dinner & breakfast were very nice.
The shower had no pressure. The Malbec was not nice at all.
Value for money. Dinner menu good choice and good value for money.
Noisy casement windows in need of refurbishment. Rattled all night, hence not a good nights sleep
Breakfast was tasty. Building was impressive. Room was small but comfortable.
I arrived by train and it's a long walk down the drive. I tried it once and used taxis the rest of the time. I asked for a wake up call at 0640 to get ready for a taxi at 0705. Luckily I was already awake when the call came at 0657, 17m late. Not good. Room was left unlocked by housekeeping when I returned to it.
Loved the staff, very friendly, chattyand accommodating Beautiful building, old but lovely Location was good Room was perfect for me, lovely view very clean and comfortable
Long country road with many speed bumps to get to the hotel Was tired looking needs an injection of cash to update
Not very much.
Dreadful food,except breakfast.Knackered mattress,tiny cheap TV,morning calls forgotten,calls to reception on'0' went unanswered.Taxi fare to Bromley center £8.50.
The faded splendour of the historic building and the fabulous gardens. Staff were responsive and friendly but the state of the building undermined all their efforts.
Old, musty rooms. Old, stained shower curtains - in short, the whole place is overdue a major refurbishment to bring it in line with modern customer expectations.
Location and staff. Good breakfast.
Poor selection for evening meal. Rommel a little dated. Slow wifi
totally quiet location in the middle of a golf course, helpful staff, beautiful old manor house, nice quiet terrace to drink and eat
rooms need an upgrade: my clothes cabinet door was hanging by one hinge, the door lock hardly turned, it's better for people with cars: I had to walk a mile out through the golf course to get to town each way (but a beautiful walk in nice weather)
Reception staff were disinterested at arrival and when leaving; Was not asked how my stay was only how I would like to settle the bill. Room was not cleaned well. found someone's underwear still in the drawers, bathroom bin was not emptied and the room furnishings were cheap and nasty.
Great breakfast: fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries; water melon; 'full English' was very fresh and tasty; cafetiere of coffee; croissants and/or small Danish pastry. Much enjoyed!
friendliness of staff. Lovely grounds
Hotel looked a bit tired
Very impressive building in an ideal location for Bromley
Looking a bit tired
The evening meal and breakfast were ample portions good value. The grounds were well laid out and kept up to a good standard.
The view from the room window overlooked the kitchen area and rear yard. Yet advertised a view of the garden grounds.
Staff were helpful. Bed was comfortable and clean.
Was a bit disappointed in the hotel to be honest. Probably fair to say that the room was adequate and the staff were friendly and helpful, but felt that the hotel was a bit sorry for itself overall and was in need of a makeover.
general helpfulness of staff and pleasant surroundings
bath water did not look the cleanest
The building had great potential and was centrally situated in beautiful surroundings.
The rooms were untidy and unkempt. There were piles of rubbish in the bins and the floors had not been cleaned. The overall level of cleanliness and attention to general state of repair left a lot to be desired.
Historic building, location was good,
Only one set of towels between two!! Damp room. Very poor ventilation in bathroom. Generally needs upgrading.
friendly greeting staff and breakfast waitress. grounds amazing.
rude evening reception staff
Location and setting
Bed was not long enough if over 6 foot tall
lovely staircase, high ceilings and surroundings.
staff gave impression they didnt really want to be there
