The owners made our stay very enjoyable, they made us feel welcome and nothing was to much for them always ready to help and advise. Will definately be staying again soon.
We found Sunnymeade easily. There was lots of parking we were greeted on arrival and offered a drink. The room was en suite and looked over the garden. There was no noise. The room was very comfortable. We were able to choose what we wanted for breakfast and what time we wanted it. Overall just what we wanted
The shower. The water pressure was very bad BUT they are aware of this and the plumbers arrive this next week!
very welcoming and hospitable
bathroom needs complete renovation
Friendliness. Excellent breakfasts. Comfortable lounge.
Bathroom a little tired. Am sure this will be dealt with in time.
Good breakfast, convenient location.
The hotel was perfectly adequate but being a single traveller booked through this site there was no discount for single occupancy - suggest that your site is not used for singles, use the hotel's own site instead.
Good location to explore North Devon coast. Owners very helpful and breakfasts good.
Unfortunately had downstairs room at the back, which was in need of some TLC especially on the bathroom front, however as owners have only been there a short while, I'm sure that they will sort this out.
Not to like or dislike, but your choices of how I was travelling did not cover my party. 2 sisters - ie family, but no children at all, not friends, not a couple, not solo traveller but review can't be submitted without ticking a choice. This was an excellent guest house with very friendly owners. The coffee was great, the breakfast fantastic with a very comfortable room.
Service was good & proximity was great, plenty if car parking.
Bedrooms really need some TLC, wallpaper coming off, ceiling looks damp & the shower room needs sorting as sink loose.
Very nice staff, breakfast good
Shower very poor
Excellent breakfast served promptly
Friendly reception and a cup of tea on arrival. Makes all the difference. Nicely cooked scrambled eggs for breakfast before we set off on the next leg of our journey. Friendly hosts, the whole experience was very pleasant.
Lisa and tim made us feel truly welcome.a welcome cup of coffee on arrival clean room and lovely breakfast!they were both available if required and would definately go back if in that area again
Shower could have been more powerful
Everything. First class B&B, excellent hosts, clean and quiet. A good nights sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. In a really good position to explore north Devon.
Owners were very nice very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.
could have had better selection at breakfast only orange juice and cheap cereals which were marked as kellogs but unfortunatly were a poor substitute,as starters. The room we had was very tired and we didn t think it was worth the £83 a night. On speaking to the owners we learnt that it was only their first year and when they bought it it was very run down so obviously they have a lot of updating to do,It would be interesting to stay again next year to compare.
Convenient location, dog friendly, comfortable rooms and good breakfast (lots of selection). Family who run the B&B are very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely return if we wanted a stop over.
On a busy road so ask for a room at the back. Decoration a bit dated.
The Staff were nice and friendly
Lovely breakfasts. Ideal location.
The showers were not very user friendly! The décor was a little bit dated.
Comfortable bed. Breakfast adequate. Decent disabled entrance if needed. Friendly lady, somewhat lacking in reception skills.
Greeting at reception friendly but comes across as Faulty Towers. Comfortable bed but let down by the most lumpy pillows. Plus one of the pillowcases was dirty...looked like mascara. Tea, coffee etc were in place for one person... one chocolate two teas, two of everything. Not wonderful when you are sharing a room. We had to buy milk and coffee. The room was very tired looking and the carpet was rather suspect so we kept shoes on all the time. One chair in double room...where does the other person sit/put their clothes? We can't but wonder how on earth this guest house has 3 star AA rating! Not worth the money, should be half the price even in high season.
The shower was so pathetic it was barely worth having. Moved the bed to look for something dropped, the headboard fell off the wall and there were toenail clippings under the bed.
The welcome and cleanliness.
Had to ring bell if wanted bar opened.
Breakfast was good and garden was nice (although garden furniture old).
Very old and tired looking inside. Carpet worn, rug on bed snagged. Old fashioned interior. Shower very poor pressure. Bed uncomfortable and could feel springs.
Lovely friendly atmosphere from the minute you entered the
The location is great if you want to explore North Devon by car. Regular buses to Ilfracombe go from the bus stop up the road (about 7 min walk) if you both want to have a drink. If you are cycling, take the main road for a bit and then take the side roads - due to country hedges along the roadside the leeway cars give you when overtaking is very small (and a bit dangerous at the speeds they go at). That said, very well located to drive to a main town (e.g. Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Saunton) and then take your bikes out. We did the Tarka trail which was quite pleaseant. Pre-ordering system for breakfast made it super easy in the mornings (when not all of us are fully awake) Cute little outdoor garden area with a picnic table and loungers for when the weather holds up (as it did for us) and you want to relax outdoors somewhere. Lovely chatty hosts, very knowledgeable of the area and which way to explore. Highly recommend driving back (to London) via the top of Exmoor park (through Lynmouth) - so pretty!
More to do with the location for exploring by foot. It would have been nice to have a local pub we could walk to (but nothing that Sunnymeade can do about that!). The Foxhunters had closed down when we were staying, and it was a daunting walk along the road with no pavement and cars zooming past at 60mph. The nearest pub is Crowne Inn (West Down), which is a bit of a further (but safer) walk, and it had a decent menu.
Very welcoming hosts, providing tea and biscuits on arrival.Time to chat to everyone. Really friendly.
