Location and price. Fairly basic but adequate
TV didnt work. One of the beds wasnt made up properly. No spoon with the tea making stuff
Great location in the center of all nightlife, good breakfast
Had the front corner room, very large but very noisy, binmen arriving at 2am, drunks in the street arguing. Dont get a room at the front then it will be great.
About a ten minute walk to the train station.
I jammed my fingers in the most antiquated lift i have ever seen.
prefect location.right in city centre.value for money.
Not clean sadly. Could be so much better by doing simple things.
location and confort of bed
Great view of Tyne bridge Best location And good value for money for a short stay
The bed was lumpy
Location, room, cleanliness.
Lift was not working, but it was not a big deal. Staff could be a bit friendlier as you expect all Newcastle people to be.
Poor access, dirty rooms ,
Good staff, great room, great location
Bit of an odd entrance, don't even dare trying the lift...
Location is absolutely perfect! The receptionist Patrick was very accommodating and helped us find our bearings. Great if you're going on a night out.
Was pretty unclean. Shower really wasn't powerful and hard to wash hair. Makesure you check out on time because we got a very frosty reception from the female working in the morning!
Room was nice
The staff on reception were unfriendly
Location was spot on, Internet was good and so was the breakfast
My room was very small and dark with a very small window it was also very hot all, the time even with the window open 24 hours it was also very loud you could here all the doors banging and the multi story car park right in front of my window with car making a lot of noise
we found the bathroom with hairs in the sink and the curtains were broken and visibly spotted. they told us that the lift had a technical problem which could have been solved by closing the door on the other levels, but in fact we never found out how to make it work, neither we saw it functioning during the three days period we were in the hotel (our room was on the third floor). How can it be a three star hotel?
Location Ground floor room size Second time we have stayed
Shower walls need redoing they looked really grubby.
Convienient location. Staying for one night
Poor welcome on arrival. Parts of the hotel were damaged such as holes in the wall. Toilet in the room provided wasn't secure and wobbled Poor layout of rooms for disabled persons, particularly the bathroom and access to suitable fire escape. No telephones in room would mean that there is no suitable means of calling for help in an emergency. Beds had no matress cover and one matress had been so well used it had a hollow where people had laid previously. Bathroom again, no slip mat in the bath or grab rails to allow safe access after washing, high potential for slip and fall. Breakfast was adequate, but morning welcome could be improved. Order time between breakfast and arrival of food too long and no apology. On leaving Surtees and checking out, staff did not enquire if we had enjoyed our stay or wish us safe travels.....I wonder why?
Friendly staff. Super breakfast, both full English and Continental. Central Station and main shopping within 15 minute walk. Plenty of restaurants within 2 minutes.
There were some cracked windows but they didn't let in a draught.
lift out of action bath difficult to get in and out
Very impressed with this hotel! Really close to everything, great for shopping and a night out! Clean rooms and look very nice! Couldn't believe it was such good value for money!
I don't think there was any parking included but the car park directly behind was cheap and close!
Location, Price, Friendly and relaxed - great for a party weekend in Newcastle
Lift didn't work, communal areas didn't appear to be cleaned all weekend - Noise from outside hotel acceptable due to location, however, noise from inside hotel unacceptable - general poor maintenance (noisy and dirty bathroom fan, lights that didn't work in room, hoover left in corridor all weekend etc)
Close to town
3 floors up lift is not good
Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the city centre.
The road at the front of the building is very busy, even during the night and the single glazed windows meant that I was kept awake for most of the night. The hotel makes use of a public pay and display car park which fills up very quickly, so get in early to be sure of a free spot.
The bathroom was very clean. The bed was also very comfortable and there was tea coffee and biscuits available. Location was good.
6-7am woken up by bin men, bottles clashing. Trains and cars going past so had only about 3/4 he's sleep! Needs double glazing.
my trip to newcastle was excellent and the hotel is clean and comfy. the staff were very helpful and the room was cleaned every day.
The window didn't close- the room was freezing cold
