staff were very helpful
had very elderly and disabled people hotel lift not working. Situated in nightlife hotspot but no double glazing on windows.
The Surtees was a very short walk to the main clubs and nightlife but was still a quiet enough hotel, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, the room was lovely and clean, overall a great stay!
Little bit noisey
Mattress had broken springs and was not replaced!! Windows did not open Staff unhelpful and dismissive
Clean, quiet and comfortable. Friendly staff and the room exceeded our expectations after initial impressions.
felt a bit 'pokey'
No telphon betwin the rooms , I request three Rooms to gather but I've got each room on ather side . My room 25 the door defecl to open .
Staff were nice and helpfull
The bed was old and you could feel Al the springs. It is hard to sleep because if the trains going past. And the room was dirty and dusty.
small single bed stairs
the place is not easy to be found. The hotel hasn't gotten a free car parking for customers. It is located near a bin recycling point.so it is very noisy in the early morning.
Water leaking from bathroom above. Electric sockets fuse blown.
Staff were friendly , hotel was in good position , breakfast was good
Heat in room window only slightly opened , toiletries had already been used , main light didn't work , pillows were rubbish (too thin and no spares
Dated appearance, noise due to old windows, need sound proofed
nice spacious comfortable room. Ideal location Friendly staff, who when we checked in, were smiling in spite of being severely harrased by a large Hen Party
Shower Bath, did not have anti-slip, I went flying, getting in. Someone could be seriously hurt. Also the shower water was not particularly hot.
Nice and comfortable Good value for money
Location fab. Right in the heart of city. beds were really comfortable.
Hole in the wall behind the door. Broken window panels in the window (cracks through glass) carpets with holes and not meeting
Everything. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the location is superb. I love that this hotel doesn't have that corporate chain hotel feel. The room we were in was huge with a lovely view above the street. Linens were clean and comfortable.
They could have paid a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the room. For instance the garbage bin could use a good rinsing, and the walls and doors should be wiped down. But, I wouldn't let these details stop me from staying there again.
Didn't have breakfast so not opinion on that.
Fabulous central location
Dated. Shabby and in need of updating. Small rooms.
Brilliant staff clean comfortable and excellent location for work and lesuire
very good location
that it was not the standard if professed to be.
The location is perfect for restaurants and sightseeing. Staff were fantastic and always ready to help if needed.
Where the entrance is situated is slightly daunting if you go down the lane at the pub end but nicer if you go in via the car park entrance.
Great location, good value, comfortable, just what we needed
Staff are friendly Price was good for budget near the city centre Basics for what every room should have. Clean Linen. Clean Bathroom Plenty of places to eat and drink around it.
A bit out from the centre especially if you travel to central station as you have a good 10min walk. Its at the bottom of a steep hill with more steps up reception when you arrive. Wouldnt be good for someone who was unfit and not able to walk.
Easy to get to town
Broken window, ripped curtains, stained carpet,no air con, no lift, noisey outside, the hill back into town shall I go on?
