good budget hotel. food OK.
intermittent wifi. couldn't make phonecalls in some areas of the hotel due to poor signal.
I had issues with toilet not flushing. It was sorted and i was upgrade to a suite.
Reception was not very welcoming. Some members of staff were not proficient in english speaking to deal with complaints.
Comfortable Good facilities Great wifi connection
Could do with a little TLC
We arrived early after a nearby music festival. They could easily have told ust to wait but the girls at reception was exceleent and organised for us to get into our room. Thank you son much!!!
It could do with a spruce up.
Jacuzi out of action dirty carpets are filthy bedrooms dark toilet broken poor hotel, was in and out of hotel in 15 mins flat with a refund as was that poor
The Staff were excellent, despite the fact that they were all being let go within the week.
The hotel was a bit 'tatty'; not surprising given that the owners do not have appeared to spent any money on maintenance in years.
pool, room, quietness, facilites overall
Hotel need s new coat of paint and a good clean. Metalwork in oool area rusty, some wood needs re-finishing. Changing rooms dirty and walls peeling, clutter in changing room. cheap plastic seats in what could be a lovely pool area
Staff & location excellent,
The building condition and appearance both in & out is virtually beyond making good without incredible costing. The pot holes in the drive add to the neglect. My room was uncomfortable because of the excessive heat from the swim/pool
Size of the room. Frienliness and Helpfullness of the staff. Cooked breakfast is great. Food for dinner was also very good. The hotel has a lot of character especially compared to the newly built 'modern' business style hotels.
Rooms and Spa / Pool area are in need of freshening up. Some colleagues felt that the european style breakfast options were a bit lacking.
I love the environment it's welcoming , I love the food.
There was an indoor swimming pool, although I didn't use it, as I hadn't packed my swimming trunks. There is a restaurant on site, which is handy for a busy solo traveller, as I didn't fancy spending time looking around the town for a restaurant. The free wifi in the bedroom was very strong and didn't let me down. I also liked the fact that I could use the wifi password on all my various gadgets (rather than being limited to 2 gadgets like in some other hotels)
There were only three electric sockets in the whole room, and one was taken up by the TV, leaving just two!! Both sockets were frankly too far from the bed, so they weren't very practical for charging my two laptops or my two phones. In fact one of the sockets was a bit too close to the table, which made it impossible to plug my phone charger. (Lesson learnt, and I will never travel to a hotel without an extension lead) The breakfast price is rather exorbitant at over £11 !!
Pool lovely but did not use changing facility bit tidy
We were a bit disappointed about the hot tub not working.
Food was fantastic - we had a 3 course meal and breakfast which all tasted amazing very good value for money - Great location - the staff were very helpful - Local pub nearby.
the company is in receivership so there is no ongoing decorating therefore the bedrooms and general decor is very tired and in need of a make-over - such a shame this used to be a very renowned hotel.
I liked Harllow Mill (the town where the hotel is) and I liked my room because it was comfy and big enough.
I didn't like the service. Yhe crew is not useful. Especially there was a man (in his thirties I guess) who was at the reception and he was really snobby and unrespectful. My mom had a special request (an additional bed) when she did the reservation but she wrote it in spanish because she doesn't speak english. Plus, the website (booking.com) was in Spanish. But that man said in a sassy and snobby way that he didn't speak spanish just to excuse himself for not to have replied to our special request before and that is something that a hotel gotta do. He was really rude in his way of talking to me. I had to pay a more expensive room to be able to stay that night for me and my parents. They shoukd have replied and they never did it. Plus, I tried to apologize with one of the women of the crew and she said that I should have written it in English... Who has to speak other languages: the crew of the hotel or the guest? My mom wrote just one little sentence in spanish when she did the reservation and the hotel couldn't even tried to use google translator to reply, and they didnt even try to apologize for that. I liked the place but the crew is a shame... I don't recommend it.
Pool lovely but did not use changing facilities as our room was close to pool entrance Staff very helpful. Also the bedrooms were a good size bed comfortable
It was not suitable for disabled people with walking problems as there were too many steps to bar and dinning area. We had to get into the car to drive down to breakfast, which did not offer a good choice every day the same.
Good value hotel ..
Could not stay longer..
The pool it was nice to be able to swim gutted that the jacuzzi wasnt working
We had to change rooms at night because the toilet didnt work also i think if the decor was updated it would make it better
Good and neat accomodation.
No phone signal in the hotel. You have to exit the hotel to make or receive calls
We had a nice surprise we was put in a suite which was very nice for the money we paid
No signal on mobile but we was told why
We liked the room and the room rate with breakfast . It was a quiet stay and very pleasant. The food was good and the facilities I the room itself . Staff were friendly and gave good service
We liked the pool and sauna we were sad the jacuzzi was not in use and the leisure part looks a bit old.
Rust, mold, flaking paint, broken jaquzzi tub, lazy pool staff (played on iPhone under desk, went off and an older gentleman helped himself to the 'safe cubby hole', no drinks around pool dispite menus and table cloths) etc
Location great, loads of parking and WiFi connection is really strong. Staff are polite and friendly....
My single room (233) was quite poor I think, there were cobwebs over the arch in the room, tv was tiny, bed not comfortable, the net and rail fell down when I touched it and the taps in the bathroom were stiff on the sink and raging hot and the bath hot wouldn't turn off so was heating itself not to mention wasting water...The breakfast was ok but quality was not great...The double room I had 2 weeks ago was loads better (room 512 I think) and had no complaints...Room 233 needs some love and attention guys even for £55 a night....
Swimming pool was excellent and the breakfast was of a good standard.
the spa was out of action which was disappointing
friendly staff, nice food, nice location, price good considering it included dinner, breakfast and massage treatment.
tatty decoration, poor wi-fi in room, tv reception intermittent, some loose fittings, bad mattress.
The pool was lovely, dinner was good,& staff..Breakfast was good, apart from watered down orange juice,& rubber overdone eggs.
Our room 240, was not cleaned, to what I call clean. Not hovered. All hallway carpets had stains, & smelt. Pool changing rooms, were awful.
