Although the rooms were just a tad tired they were very clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was marvellous and plenty to choose from.Wouldn't go hungry here. Very pleasant and helpful staff.Ideal location for travelling.2 mins from the motorway by car .Local bus stop just across the road and regular service.Just ten minutes to town centre.Would definately stay again.........Top marks..but then we did come mid-week.Cant say what it would be like at the week-ends.. Liked everything.even the old television..Just like mine at home!!

Breakfast was reasonably good , although we had to wait a while to be seated and the waiter seemed not to understand, that despite being in separate rooms , we wished to sit together . The whole place looked " Tired " as one of the wives commented . The carpet was held in places with tape ,and it looked like it had been there a long time , the radiator in our room had a pipe that was very rusty , again it looked like it had been this way a long time .There were a lot of little things like this that made it a slightly disappointing break.

Good value for money, you get what you pay for. Walls a bit thin, could easily hear people and the TV in the other room.

Handy for the SECC, science centre etc. Cheap and cheerful if on a budget. Terrible coffee and lots of foul mouthed contractors at breakfast.

The breakfast and glad to see that potato scones were back on the menu but a bit dissappointed that there were no tomatoes on this occasion The beds are always a bit hard. The fact that the sauna, pool and gym facility are no longer available

free car park i called before to change my reservation to add an infant and request a baby travel cod bed, and they didnt even ask my reservation number or identify them-self and they said it was all ok now so i left my baby travel cod bed at home and when i got there they didnt had one so on the first night i couldnt even sleep because i was worried about the baby safety because he was sleeping in the middle of us, only on the second night after i request many times they did bring the baby bed. I left the leaflet requesting breakfast in bed on the last day and it came one hour later than i requested, so couldnt enjoyed it because it was time to leave... i been appointed a room next to the lift, all night long we could hear the lift up and down, its not a relaxing place for a family with a baby. im very disappointed, never stayed in a hotel with such a bad service ....

The hotel from the outside looks a little shabby but don't let that put you off! It's great on the inside. As they say, 'never judge a book by it's cover' and this is one example. The staff were friendly, professional and polite. the breakfast was excellent. It's in a super location (except maybe when a football match is on!) I would highly recommend this hotel. Having visited many hotels and guesthouses in my work, I find it hard to believe that there are still hotels charging ridiculous amounts for wifi, which the vast majority aren't charging for at all! I didn't bother as I refuse to pay £4.99 for 30 mins!

The room tariff - the location - the size of the room - the bar and lounge area - friendly/helpful staff - breakfast was excellent! All in all, this was a great choice for our short stay - simple, affordable, no frills but had everything we needed. Outer appearance of the hotel looks very shabby indeed, and does not match the interior, which is really not bad! There was a connecting door between our room and the next room and the noise from our neighbours was very loud. Minor point but we only had one pillow each, which was not enough for me...I had to double it over.
