Price. Easy to locate. Beer well kept.staff polite and friendly. Decor old and shabby, the bed had an old worn out uncomfortable mattress, you could feel the springs sticking into your body, every movement was accompanied by loud twangs and boings from the springs. The tv remote did not work, the kettle in the room, although working was discoloured with age. There was no hot water at 11pm for a shower due to the fact that "the boiler had been switched off" at 11.20pm we were told that " there maybe hot water in about an hour, if not then try it in the morning". Bar food was edible but odd, Chinese style chicken curry with brussel sprouts???

The huntly arms was a very quaint counrty hotel with a lovely family friendly atmosphere. The staff were absolutely brilliant.the rooms were very nice and extremely comfortable very good value for money. The food was excellent and the service was the same. When we arrived there was a problem with our reservation because the booking was for three and when we arrived it was made for two. The staff sorted this out straight away and moved us to a larger room with no extra expence to us.there customer service skills were great. I could not fault this hotel. Fo us it was a perfect place to stay for a short break.

Good value for money. It's an old building with associated problems which old buildings have with modern requirements. Many fire doors; varying floor levels; 'squelchy' floors; little faults not attended to in room eg door spring was broken and towel rail had been pulled off wall. But bedding good and towels clean and changed daily. Food was ok. Area lacked restaurants as we wanted a meal somewhere else. Centrally located for the places we wanted to visit.

Unfortunately, the Huntly Arms Hotel failed to meet my expectations in every aspect. Very basic room. Poor decoration throughout hotel. We were initially put up in a room which, we were informed after being moved to an alternative, was not even supposed to have been let. The shower was off the wall and the room generally was of a very sub-standard nature. There was a very unappealing smell of greasy fried food in the hotel lobby. Breakfast was not very impressive either. Despite ordering essentially the same cooked breakfast simultaneously, there was a 10 minute wait between my breakfast appearing and the second being brought out. The sausages in the breakfast were uncooked. Overall, in no way was the price of this hotel reflected in the rooms we saw or the service we experienced. Hugely disappointing stay and it was a relief to leave.

A very very warm welcome at the Huntly Arms. Receptionist/Bar Staff/Cleaning staff were all very friendly and made us feel at home. What made it even nicer was the weather! The room was lovely, got upgraded to a lovely Four poster bed and requested dinner in our room which was great. Evening meal and breakfast was fantastic and would not fault this hotel at all. Would recommend this to anyone. As a whole, a great hotel with the best of staff in every way. No faults whatsoever!

Quaint old coaching inn. Looks nice from the outside! Only about 50 minutes drive from Aberdeen. Nice drive to and from the hotel. Hard- working staff. Very poor standard of finish. More like a hostelry than a hotel. Can't disagree with the other reviews. I chose this hotel as I needed somewhere near to Aberdeen at short notice at a reasonable price. Tv reception poor, no freeview as advertised, rooms very dated and poorly finished, Needs a massive amount of investment.

The Staff. The condition of the hotel itself, in an incredible state of disrepair. The hotel staff ensure the rooms and public areas are clean, but, to offer a Room no matter how low the price, with two old electric bar Heaters, a shower that dribbles water from the shower head is disgraceful. Oxford Hotels should be forced to bring this building up to The 3 AA stars it claims to hold. Having said that, my wife and I didn't Pay much, the breakfast was good, and staff polite and helpful.

It was as expected. I liked real fires. The staff were around an d easy to find. The distances felt longer than you expect. It is only 20 miles groom the ski resorts but it takes an hour to get there. In hindsight we would have chosen to move hotels more often to be closer to each activity.

Prison would be a better option... Made to pay, before you get your room key, the room was very cold, tv didnt work, the bathroom( tiny smelly room), toilet hadnt been flushed large brown gift from last guest.... Asked weather the heating would be working, informed that it would be on in an hour... Asked for a extra room heater, which didnt work, after an hour the heating still didnt come on, asked for anpther heater which did work, but was very loud, had too try and sleep with the noise and most of my clothes on... Informed on checking out that the heating had been broken for a while... Makes sense why I had to pay as soon as I got through the door, also got several bites on my legs, this is the worst hotel I have ever had endure, my work the next day wasnt my best, and I wouldnt advise anyone to stay at this hotel... My dog has a better standard of accomadation...

This hotel was misleading on the website as we thought it would be a clean hotel, as I was on business I required wifi which the hotel did have however was not connected to the internet therefore had to travel to another venue and use theirs. The rooms were very basic and the hotel is in need a refurb.
