Would have liked water mixer ficture in the bathroom sink
Stayed here for 1 night in august 2014. This is our 3rd visit. Lovely hotel. Staff really friendly.lovely breakfast. We love Canterbury. We will be back. Highly recommend
The only negative very slow wi fi
all staff were fantastic, best customer service I've had in a long time. Parking a bonus. right on the high street. beautiful building. comfiest bed ever, didn't want to get up. had a wonderful stay in Canterbury. unexpected treat from my other half.
Beautiful old place Nice staff
Very busy at breakfast. Very expensive bar prices
I asked the staff for a different room, with toilet in the same floor than bed. The staff were very prompt to give me a different room. Very polite and helpful.
The new room was a bit noisy at night, because it was facing the street, but you can not have everything, i suppose. It was not very bad anyway.
Excellent position for sightseeing and the breakfast choice sets you up for the day. Parking on site a great advantage. Friendly and efficient staff.
perfect for a night in town
visited for 4 nights as part of a walking break, staff were friendly and helpfull, location was exceptional, just outside the old city wall, food very good and the whole hotel was charming, beds very comfortable in all a good hotel!
a bit noisy as our room was on the main road, and the bathroom could have used a good clean
Breakfast was really nice !! Room 21 , nicely furnished .
Bar area was a bit drab, no one at bar to serve us.
The whole experience was fabulous.
nice staff , nice area close to the city ,breakfast nice
torn wallpaper in room ,chips in the bath , bathroom looking tired
Comfortable room, close to the train station (west), good breakfast, helpful staff, price
Wifi didn't work
Staff were good when we had a problem with first room, given free upgrade which we really appreciated. All staff seemed to work very hard. Parking very good.
Shower very poor in first room we were given, also room seemed as if it hadnt had a good clean for a while (very dusty). Although we understand the age of the building the rooms are decorated to keep in with the authenticity of this it does not mean windows and furniture can not be updated. Carpets very thread bare could do with being updated also.
We liked everything about the hotel especially its location and ambiance
Nothing really, we were happy with everything we received.
Helpful staff directed us to some excellent restaurants near by. Onsite parking was good. Large comfortable room and a good breakfast included in the rate.
Our room looked out over an outdoor bar area that was full of people every evening. Their noise disturbed us quite late into the evening. The bathroom was a bit tired and in need of a refurb.
Proximity to town was great. The room was large and clean and not noisy considering how close it was to bars and the railway level crossing. Staff friendly and helpful.
Beautiful old building but very comfortable. Wonderful location with free parking.
Very convenient for everything
The coffee for breakfast was not very nice sooo strong
Staff friendly and obliging, great location, good parking, quiet and comfortable
The hotel dates from the 1400s but we were given a room in the converted mill buildings at the back. It was OK, lots of space, but oddly laid out over two floors and dark.
Very friendly staff; Good breakfast; Within walking distance of all main attractions; Good parking space with overflow car park;
No air conditioning; Room location on main street, so noisy with drunks at night and street cleaning, beer deliveries etc from 5am;Carpets in halls threadbare and needing cleaning. Shower operation complicated with no instructions.
historic lodging from 1403 well maintained, fabulous breakfast
a bit pricey
Great location. The hotel has car parking.
Atmosphere Old fashionned style Living like Harry Potter
No lift - kind of an gym experience with laguage
Staff welcome, car park, closeness to City and Marlow Theatre
Attractive building and good central location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant room. Would definitely come again.
