Pool, but also nice to get away.
The walk up to our room as it was 6 or 7 flights of stairs & no lifts. Menu wasn't very exciting I had a steak & had to ask for a plate as it was served on a wooden chopping board. Asked for a garlic butter sauce & was charged £2.50 each for a knob of melted butter disgraceful. Also it would have been nice if there was a lounge with music or some kind of entertainment of some sorts.
we booked king sized room and it was lovely. bed very comfortable. beautiful view. pool was good but it was empty so even better. Nice and quiet and even although wedding on second night we were not disturbed in any way with any noise. ant staff we spoke to very polite and helpful
only thing was the size of tv. really small & freeview only. wifi kept dropping. but had our own internet so no problem.
King Bed was a good size and comfy. Room and bathroom were clean. Bedroom had a nice view.
Not enough staff and most (not all) staff looked a bit grumpy. Long time to get served at the bar, mixers for drinks were served from a bottle and flat. Food was OK, requested steaks medium rare but were most definitely over-done. television small for the room, not very practical if you want to watch it from bed.
Poor service Could have been cleaner (especially side entrance by bar areas) In desperate need of refurbishment
The view of the Clyde.
the room was spacious and the staff were nice and friendly enough
the room we were in room 49 was in a very poor cleaning standard the picture frames were white with dust ,inside the television unit was the same the doors the same and radiators were the same i was disgusted at the standard you exspect people to stay
Lovely view of the Clyde Great breakfast (kipper!)
Lack of a lift
Atmosphere room fab n staff n food
Spa good but old fashioned
Room very comfortable and most suitable.
Other ignorant customers. I do not like being laughed at because of my looks. ( I had been in serious accident years ago and have little natural beauty left as a result) Also hotel could of had directions better posted by possible AA or RAC.
Over all location and club house. Challenging golf course, well maintained, great views.
Hit with the remnants of a hurricane, but we played through it.
Views are stunning and only a few minutes out of town. Bedrooms were comfortable and nice breakfast.
Having to check in then get back in car in pouring rain to enter hotel at different entrance. Dinner was expensive and not very good quality. Very poorly sign posted around hotel for areas.
Bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly after last guests. Huge hike to restaurant which was signposted "Leisure".
after a long day on the road great spa and pool lovely food and a nice large room with a very comfy bed
the long walk to reception
Very tranquil location. Clean room & comfy bed. Breakfast was also very good.
Lack of atmosphere in the bar & no member of staff behind the bar when we decided to go for a drink. Walked 15 minutes down the road to a local bar & restaurant for a meal & a drink. Gleddoch house missed out on us eating & drinking there.
Setting overlooking the Clyde and Dumbarton Rock, with views east to Glasgow. Not as close to Dumbarton as booking.com claimed (1.6 km) unless you swam across, but still convenient. Good value with room for £50 and good breakfast for £7.95 on a voucher sold at reception.
Very long internal walk from reception to room, up and down several flights of stairs linking the original mansion to the extensions built into side of hill. Got lost! Externally the extension/golf club site is tired and needs tlc. Room comfortable but bathroom basic with all white tiles.
The location, the room, evening meal were all exceptionally comfortable and welcoming - an especially appreciated respite.
Nothing to add here
The view from the window in the morning was fantastic.
Wished I could stay longer!
Enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna. Liked the room interior. Good location.
Downstairs area - Just felt like a big room where you booked in - no lounges, or feeling of it being a hotel, or of a warm friendly place to be. Room :single glazing and couldn't open window... CH was off and had to crawl on floor to operate hidden on/off valve (after asking for help re this). Pool area - not very attractive - ceiling area like a factory... Poor directions/signage re exit and finding places. Didn't get to bar area - too many stairs - knees not so ok when I stayed. Only had accommodation - no meals so didn't see dining room or any views.... Room I had faced other rooms and quite a few stairs and treck.... Place a bit like a rabbit warren....
We visited the hotel while on roadtrip and booked it through booking.com on the way there. Really hard to find especially during night. The hotel was really old, dirty and smelled bad. I think the worst hotel we visited during our stay in Scotland.
Location, beautiful views. Friendly staff. Lovely meal.
Ensuite could do with a spruce up.
The location was lovely. The food was excellent.
The bed was very uncomfortable, mattress was saggy. Poor lighting
The room was amazing, breakfast was the best and the steam room was heaven
Bed was very comfortable Location was picturesque overlooking the river
very hard to find room and breakfast room. A complete rabbit warren of poorly signposted corridors. Coffee at breakfast was awful!
This trip was a family gift and the views given were their feedback. The staff were very nice but not very organised at breakfast time. The pool was great and had a nice area to sit. The rooms were lovely. Thank you.
I think the only criticism was that one member of staff came accross as being a bit abrupt when it was pointed out that there were no plates. Otherwise it was a very successful trip and was greatly enjoyed!
Location was good, nice views over the water.
Cleanliness of the bathroom was very poor. The bar staff clearly had had no Customer Service training and we felt we were annoying them by asking to buy a drink.
