Newton Hotel

A lovely hotel with lots of nice touches. It was warm and comfortable, the public areas were very pleasant.

The room I had was very dull and dismal. The windows had a very unpleasant view of an internal courtyard. The hotel was not at all busy, I am sure there must have been more pleasant rooms available. I wondered if the room I was allocated was because I booked online through yourself.

Having had many years' experience of the Newton Hotel, we particularly like the sense of Edwardian solidity and comfort allied to very high standards of hospitality exercised by a highly professional and caring staff.

Very noisy, sometimes far into the night, if there is a function, e.g. a wedding, going on. This also makes it difficult for guests to park.

Small point - the flashing light of the smoke alarm on the bedroom ceiling was distracting when lying in bed.

It is so relaxing and you know the staff willendeavour to make your stay special.

Bathroom suite in the chaplin suite needs upgrading also more lighting in bedroom

Very frinedly and efficient staff. The room was excellent and tremendous value for money. Superb hotel grounds.

Resturant Food

Being given a room that appears in a time warp and has not been updated since the 70s, and is much much to small to even consider calling a double, let alone charging a ridiculous rate for it

We have stayed several times, and always enjoyed our stay. As my husband is 93 years of age, being able to use a lift close to the bedroom is so good. The staff are very pleasant and so makes for a relaxing holiday.

I thought the dinner menu was very disappointing, and no change being made any evening to the Al-a=Carte menu. Perhaps when in Scotland more Scottish food could be offered for the benefit of the foreign tourists?

It was nice but nothing special. Very nice building, though it was not recently refurbished, so the interior was a bit old fashioned.

Poor breakfast, not very convenient location, misleading photos.

Excellent value for money

Excellent location with large grounds, easy parking. Handy for access to golf. Family friendly.
