“I stayed in the Newton Hotel many years ago and remember it as being a nice hotel. It still is a nice hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. I had a bar meal and it was excellent.”

The fact that it was an old, well kept building, with lots of character and charm. I loved that fact that Charlie Chaplin stayed there, as my Dad was a big fan of his, as I am.My Dad was born a few doors away from him and would have loved your hotel. We never knew about the Chaplin connection until the barman told us. Very exciting and interesting. A beautiful hotel

We booked into the hotel because we were attending our God daughter's wedding. We were met by very friendly and helpful staff who booked us in very quickly. Our room was very comfortable with everything we required. Dinner in the hotel was excellent - 2 courses #20 and 3 courses #25. Breakfast was also excellent with an excellent buffet followed by full Scottish cooked breakfast. The restaurant staff couldn't do enough for you and absolutely nothing was a trouble to them. One of the guests was on a gluten free diet and was beautifully catered for and very well looked after. The wedding we attended was superb - every room so beautifully decorated and the wedding breakfast itself was excellent. We would definitely go back to this hotel again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Only one thing got to me which didn't spoil our visit but in the shower cubicle in the bathroom the shower gel had run out at some time and caused the 'stainless steel' to rust which in turn stained the tiles. I thought it was such a shame to spoil such a lovely bathroom. I tried to clean it myself but the stain was quite ingrained in the tiles and it wouldn't budge. Sorry if this is a negative comment when it is such a small thing but it got to me.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. We had stayed three weeks before and stayed in the Charlie Chaplin suite and really enjoyed our stay, hence the return visit. Staff are very helpful and although the hotel is still under going refurbishment it is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Every thing, there really was not the slightest reason to complain; Staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent. The highland cattle are a great attribute and I think a lovely attraction for the hotel guests. I was impressed to see them been fed at the same time each morning, they have their own built in clock's!

From entrance to the hotel until leaving the staff were fabulous, reception staff are especially welcoming. Room was great, comfy beds and chairs, good to be able to watch Sky Sports as well as normal UK Channels. Breakfast was really good and more than sufficient to keep you going until lunch time or beyond! Overall definitely a hotel I would return!!!
