“ We had a really lovely stay at Swallows Rest. We were made so welcome & the homemade cake on arrival & on our return from our day's out made it extra special. Jane did lots of little extra touches that added to our enjoyment. We also loved the pigs, they were great fun! ”

The location is second to none with an amazing view from the penthouse suite. Although the accommodation was self-catering there was tea/coffee/cooking condiments etc provided with fresh milk in the fridge and half a dozen fresh free range eggs from the farm's hens on arrival - very tasty the next morning poached! Thoroughly enjoyed being able to wander in the lovely garden and see all the animals plus having all the horses around was lovely. We would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend the swallows rest and at £30 pp per night very reasonable for such a lovely place. As we were self-catering did not really see the staff much but all seemed very helpful and welcoming - with a nice relaxed feel also. Although there is free wi-fi my teenagers could not get it to work - as we were only there for a long weekend did not really have time to mention it to aid to see if it could be sorted out but it definitely did not detract from our stay. The shower in the ensuite double room was very slow draining (?a temporary blockage) which made it a bit tricky to use - as the owners were away aid came to have a look as soon as we mentioned it to him but without a plumber was not able to rectify it in the time we were there as our stay was only short and was over the bank holiday weekend - again, this did not detract from our stay as the penthouse has another shower available.

It solves the Weymouth accommodation problem! Seafront too hectic, Portland looks too grim, this is at the end of town overlooking Chesil Beach in a quiet location.

Friendly, and the staff, Jane and Keith work well to keep the farm and its amenities going. Nothing was to much trouble. Out of a score of 10 they get 10 (plus 25 more )out of ten!! Well done plus.(35 Out of 10) We were very impressed. That is an insult to Jane and Keith. Plus. Booking. Com fee paid by the hosts Jane and Keith was a complete rip off and a disgrace at 15%.Terrible......

Really comfortable stay, felt relaxed travelling on my own and staying in a b and b really for the first time. I could walk straight down to the path, animals guiding my way. Wonderful food, come and go as you please, have space or company in the great facilities downstairs. Plenty of places to drive and walk to. Dog friendly to, the dog might be lucky enough to go next time! Lovely people, jane does fabulous baking, great all around really.

All the little extra touches made the stay all the better. We arrived and were given tea/coffee and cakes in the lounge. There were 2 small cakes left in our room everyday. The refreshment area in the room was really well supplied, and there was a jug of fresh drinking water. All cups, glasses, and jugs were not just rinsed out daily, they were replaced with new ones. In the room, and also in the dining room, was a huge collection of books. It was a freezing cold Easter, and had been raining very heavily for sometime, but inside was lovely and warm, and we had a beautiful view out to Chesil Beach and Portland from our window. Breakfast was also really lovely, well cooked and with a lovely choice. Don't hesitate to book here and there is some self catering too. Lovely place, and lovely people.

The cottage is unbelievably good for money! It has 3 double en suite rooms, a kitchen dinning living room that's perfect for group entertainment and views of the sea, set in a great farm surrounding! What more could you want? Easy reach of Weymouth harbour (5-10 minute drive) and walks leading straight from the cottage to the sea. They even keep the cottage stocked with essentials like olive oil, all bedding and toiletries including toothpaste, and we had a lovely basket of fresh eggs on arrival. Thanks for a great stay we will be back! Nothing

It was extremely comfortable and friendly and much more cosy than a five star hotel. Every little detail had been considered and when you think what you would like to have in a really decent hotel, it was here at Swallows Rest. The food was delicious, freshly baked cakes available and also in your room with water, tea, coffee and, on one evening, a bottle of delicious sparkling white wine. The bedding was luxurious and, of course, fabulous views. The only thin There was nothing we can think of that could have made our stay any better, except perhaps for the driving rain!! ;o). This meant that, unfortunately, we did not get to meet the pigs, but... next time we will.

Everything fine! Lovely breakfast! This place is much more than B&B..... I've checked in with by boyfriend and regretted that we only came for one night. Lovely place! Highly recommend! Thank you, Jane! Great small hotel run by a family. Loved the countyside filling..... This exactly what we were looking for - an escape from busy London!

Jane and Keith extend a very warm welcome and provide many little touches that make you feel that you are a friend rather than a guest. Fabulous breakfast, huge grounds in which to wander, comfortable rooms and ample parking makes Swallows Rest my favourite place to stay in the Weymouth area.

Lovely position, good for coastal walks, bird watching - there were indeed losts of swallows resting before migration drinking from the pond in the garden. We particularly enjoyed meeting the friendly pig that liked having his back scratched! The staff were very welcoming. The tea and home made cakes on arrival were great. We walked to the Crab House cafe where you can eat locally grown oysters. The duvet supplied was too hot for the weather

The welcome and friendliness of the hosts. Greeting with refreshments including cake and supplying small cakes and chocolate in the room each day was above our expectations and a very nice thought, it added that little extra touch that makes you feel special. Loved the swallows, the varied variety of birds at the bird table just outside the patio doors of the dining room, the chickens, two pigs and most of all the fabulous view of the sea and Portland Island. Being our Ruby Wedding Anniversary it was a nostalgic trip across the Island visiting where we used to live many years ago. Most of the rooms are ensuite but the couple in the next room to us had the sole use of the bathroom situated opposite our door. Lovely couple but trailed off to the bathroom three or four times during the night. Just one of those things, not an actual complaint.
