Location was good Leisure facilities were good
The price per night was too expensive for what it was. Rooms are very dated and old. Tried to reserve parking way in advance of stay but no availability...not enough private parking for the hotel...had to park a good 10 minute walk away. Hotel bar is over priced.
Night warden to let you in. Great location. Spacious rooms. Pleasant lounge and reception.
This was clearly once a very grand building but is sadly in need of tlc that goes beyond a coat of paint. Miniscule car park, unhelpful and borderline rude staff. Our room reeked of bleach which although clearly clean wasnt inviting. No water pressure in the shower. Overcooked breakfast with inedible bacon. 4 stars is obviously self appointed for this disappointing hotel.
Location and public areas
Tired, battered and scruffy room was disappointing. Luke warm shower in horrible bathroom. Room didn't smell fresh. Complaint resulted in discount after receptionist said it was one of their poorer rooms. Quite frankly I think they had a cheek in letting it and I regret not making a fuss when I booked in. Is this another case of a single occupant being given a substandard room?
It was perfectly placed for my stay. Staff were helpful. Room was quiet and although cold, it was my fault. I didnt see the thermostat! As I was very tired I slept anyway, and was told about thermostat in morning. Breakfast plentiful and self service - excellent.
Downstairs in the reception area was warm and welcoming
Bedroom was freezing turned on radiator / heating and it did not work at all and neither did the one in the bathroom
Really tired looking and dirty would not recommend
The state of the rooms, very shabby. The bathroom was appalling. The very poor service at breakfast, had to ask for coffee. The choice at breakfast was very poor. We made a complaint re the above which wasn't addressed
The swimming pool and jacuzzi The room upgrade after the first room was unacceptable
The bar meal was shocking. Jacket potatoes was barely warm the tuna mayo was all cheap mayo. No one asked how the meals were and no staff were around when we left the table. Check out was too slow and I ended up paying twice for breakfast. The rear exit was poorly lit when we checked out early in the morning The first night was very noisy but n the street outside until the early hours the second night was better
Location and facilities
Decor dated, needs modernising and noisy pipes
Stated times for facilities in literature wrong.
The Spa facilities were excellent..
The standard of the food we were served at the bar was very poor and disappointing. Rating 3 out of 10.
It was our graduation. The room was everything I needed with a comfy bed. Breakfast was great. I could get a parking space so all was fab thank you.
Not the hotels fault but there was a lot of music noise at night. To be fair it didn't disturb me but it did disturb my travel companions.
mix up about parking booking
Clean rooms, good sized rooms, loved the gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Good choices at breakfast. Excellent location to see Harrogate and a short walk from the station.
Shower was tatty and the shower curtain smelt a little. Only one male member of staff was grumpy and moaned at my friend concerning the car park.
Dinner. Excellent value for money. Breakfast. Lots to choose from on the menu.
Noisy front bedroom. Ask for rear room.
reception and housekeeping staff friendly and polite
Breakfast and non slip bath math with mould
The location was very good for the Conference Centre and shops but also nice and quiet at night.
Some of the reception staff could have been helpful. There also seemed to be a lack of staff at breakfast.
Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel location great. Hotel clean, Breakfast good.
Room, especially the bathroom needs updating. Couple of waiting staff bit grumpy. . Wasn't allowed to pull curtains over in reception at night, it was cold by the big windows and wanted to keep heat in and make sitting in reception having a drink more comfortable. Bar not very inspiring and no real cask ale!!!!
The pub inside the hotel has great food and great service
The smell, needs a huge refurb
Friendly, helpful, nice food & leisure facilities. We requested a quiet room as I had read some reviews about disturbed sleep from previous guests. We had a lovely weekend :)
Yes just about everything Only bad one is prices at the bar seamed to change each Time
So convenient. Staff could not be more helpful. Thank you. This was a return trip. Will use again when attending conference in Harrogate.
Breakfast was excellent as we're the staffs service in the dinning room.
Bathrooms are old and need updating. Shower was rubbish. Also showers in changing room at leisure club were very poor, old and also need TLC
