Pool, Jaccuzi and Sauna
Hotel decor is tired and in need of a make over. We wanted to make use of Spa facilities but none were available as there were no staff.
Central location a bit dated but clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Car park was a nightmare to manouevre around not enough spaces for amount of guests staying at hotel.
Location couldn't have been better, facilities were excellent, great pool, gym and spa. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Make sure you book a car parking space or you could be in for a long walk. The close proximity of several nightclubs that are open until day break. Couldn't hear any music but the loud chatter was awful. Hotel aware of this and are trying to take measures to improve the situation. If you are hard of hearing this shouldn't pose a problem!
The location is central to the town giving easy access to all the town's sights and facilities.
The hotel appears to run for the staff and not the guests, everything was an inconvenience to them, we got to our room and opened the door and a pungent damp smell hit us like a wall, it was the shower curtain. We asked them to change it which they did. After a night out we returned to the hotel for nightcap and the bar man would not serve us because we didn't have the paper part of the key with our signature on it, although we had our actual key!
Generous sized single room Cleanliness of room and lounge areas
A few front-facing reception people a bit lifeless No clear understanding about table d'hote menu. Reception menu without prices Would like a lift of lighter colours in reception lounge area Toaster settings need continual checking after guests change settings
Excellent position - great for the Royal Hall theatre. Clean beds. Good sized rooms. Value for money Excellent breakfasts. Friendly and helpful staff Secure parking facilities.
Bit noisy plumbing system, but to be expected as old building. Shower bit temperamental- too hot, too cold!
Big and old building
Smelt old and damp
Parking was very useful and reasonably priced. A good central place to stay but would not reccommend eating in hotel.
Poor quality of food. Limited breakfast. Confusion over evening meal between table de hote and a la carte.
The location was great
Shower very good.
Bathrooms need refurbishment mould in grouting unexceptionable.
Room nice and spacious. Staff friendly.
Internet couldn't be bothered reading all rules and regs. to go on to cloud.
Location was great.
Staff in the restaurant were very unfriendly, at times totally ignored the customers. It isn't clear how to book car parking at the hotel, not available on the booking flow system.
The substantial breakfast.
The shower in our room was low in pressure.
the leisure facilities were great. Breakfast was lovely friendly staff well situated within easy reach of the centre
could do with some new decor in places.
Location Staff Facilities
Rooms tired decor Tight car parking TV reception dodgy at best
Great value for money - the room (213) overlooked the Royal Theatre and was one of the recently refurbed single ones ( bathroom shower only let down - minimal flow ). Not too noisy at night. Perfect location for shops, theatres, restaurants... Definitely would stay again. Staff polite and helpful.
Shower flow ( or lack there of) and the fact that the hot tub downstairs in the Health Club was cold!!! And the steam room would have benefitted from some Eucalyptus Oil....
Very good value for money. Lovely breakfast.
Very very hot in rooms and windows that didn't open properly.
Public ares good but lacking ambiance Rooms & corridors tatty & needing refurbished, bedroom signs of damp Needs a good refurbishment
Loved the pool!
Parking was a nightmare! That was a serious problem! Not a nice smell in the lobby. (Smelled like old cigars.)
Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Free WiFi. Excellent location for town, shopping and theatres. Lovely pool.
Having to pay for car park when it said free parking in brochure. The hotel could do with a little refurbishment to remove the slightly tired ambience.
Pathetic Show Plates for Breakfast Buffet too small!
Use of swimming pool and facilities
Staff were not overly helpful, drinks were expensive, price did not include breakfas
Tired decor, unhelpful staff there attitude was don't bother us. Guessing the fact that they can fill rooms for conferences means we just don't care .not very hospitable.
