The dinners were superb, really good catering, adventurous, well presented, and an excellent choice. Friendly staff To be fair, apparently other rooms were better than mine, and I will probably try it again
My room had no Wi-Fi, and no ventilation. It was very cramped and the shower was grubby.
old style handy for harpers graduation day etc plenty of parking
hard bed scant bathroom no hair dryer shower needed some tlc
Just loved everything about the place, very very comfortable :)
Stayed for a couple of nights and really liked the atmosphere of the place. The bar was comfy and the restaurant excellent. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There's not much else very local but there's absolutely no need to get in your car to find a meal or friendly bar.
A larger double bed would be preferable.
Great food, good value .
Next to a road that was very busy at rush hour.
Needs decorating and upgrading.
The room was comfortable and clean and the service was excellent! Breakfast was delicious. The annex where our room was located was lovely and private and the countryside setting was perfect for a quiet night away.
A bigger mirror was needed inside the room to get ready in.
Decor, helpfulness of the staff
N / A
Food and friendliness. Evening meal options. Parking easy.
Bit close to the road, noisy from 6am onwards.
I liked the building and the décor, it felt rustic and had some history to the building. The full English breakfast was very good and all the food tasted good and was presented well. The Swan at Forton had a good feel to the place.
There were a few DIY issues that let it down a bit, needed a lick of paint here and there and a few holes filled in the bathroom. Shame there was no carvery on a Saturday night. Most of the staff were friendly with the exception of one older lady who was not that welcoming and that friendly. Thought the place could do with a happy cheery person to welcome you there.
The Hotel it's like stepping back in time The staff very helpful nothing was too much trouble The restaurant superb quality food at very reasonable prices. The breakfast high quality and superbly presented The location tranquil and relaxing and only a few miles from the livelier town of Newport The room in the barn conversion was spot on Generally we were very impressed with the whole package and we will definitely be going there again
not a big issue but the wifi reception was not very good..
Almost everything, staff friendly and efficient. Comfort and cleanliness good.
On my second night I ordered, cod fillet in batter, as my main course. My fish contained 10(ten) bones. This was not a fillet, as menu description. One of the first tasks a trainee chef is taught,is how to fillet a fish until they can do it blindfold. Your chef did not impress me on this occasion. ,
The food was excellent. The breakfast is very good and more than is required for the day. The evening meal was presented very nicely and tasted just fantastic. I am not one for a sweet but my wife is and she went mad every night and had a beautiful sweet every time quoting "sod it, forget the hips" I am enjoying myself. I did ask "are they bought in" and the Lady cook said NO they are made on site. The accommodation is not the Hilton but it is a very nice older building with a very wide staircase, the rooms are what they are, comfortable as you would expect in an Old English Public House but we were more than satisfied in every way and we will be back.
Nothing at all.
Restaurant and bar were the high spot. Breakfast was great.
Parking lot too crowded when most spaces were filled (wedding). Not room to back out. Too warm, but a fan provided made it better. Had trouble with toilet button that broke.
We stayed in a small double room which was cosy and comfortable. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
Fab stay as always! love this place :)
Nice Pub Hotel, evening meal was good so was breakfast.
Very noisy road. No bedside lights. Had to climb a lot of stairs which was okay and we managed but would have been a problem before my hip op...
Food good but spoilt by untrained staff
room poorly equipped, broken light in bathroom, only one bedside light, broken wardrobe, nowhere to hang wet towels, no shelf in shower, window broken, door lock unsatisfactory, bed sags in middle.
Staff were lovely and helpfull, food was good, room was lovely it was all very clean, The place had a nice atmosphere, great value for money.
Only thing I didn't like was the road noise but I was a late booking and it was the last room. It is and old building with beautiful windows so double glazing would ruin the look.
The ambiance of the hotel and the kindness of the staff in providing us with something to eat even though we arrived at a rather late hour that evening.( We couldn't sample the breakfast as we had to leave early the next morning.)
One lamp bulb by the double bed was not working and the towel rail next to the mirror in the bathroom was loose. Otherwise everything was ticketyboo.
The meal I had was very good & the atmosphere in the pub was very nice. The staff were friendly & pleasant.
Lack of wifi in my room. The kettle had some sort of scaling inside so I did not use it, as I was only staying for one night & leaving before breakfast I did not bring this to the hotel staff attention.
Great staff who where lovely.
Lovely breakfast, given free upgrade to wonderful room. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. Ample parking and good wifi access. Handily located just a few minutes from the M54.
My room was at the front and there was a bit of traffic noise until quite late in the evening. Not a problem as far as I was concerned but may be an issue for light sleepers or those who retire early.
Beautiful room, friendly staff, free wifi and fantastic food. I always feel really safe here as a lone female traveler. Highly recommended.
Staff were very good. Breakfast was excellent.
Room was comfortable but in need of repair. Broken window blind..bathroom door did not lock..bare wires hanging from ceiling. Shower cubicle in need of replacement
