Good overnight location for a cross-Britain motor traveller
Everything Internet was down but not owners fault Very apologetic
Location was first class Staff extremely friendly without being over-bearing Breakfast was served promptly and was exactly what I wanted Excellent access roads to and from M6 and also into Newport Market Town
Bathroom light above wash hand basin and the mirror did not work (Room 11) Shower controls difficult to manage successfully without proper instructions
Bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows.
Advertised as free wifi yet it does not reach the barn conversion rooms so not able to do the work I intended. Shower pressure was awful, just a dribble if you wanted a hot shower with no heater in bathroom. Electric heater on wall took ages to switch on room was freezing on arrival.
Open fires Atmosphere Food Having a nice hot bath
Food in Restaurant is exceptional. At least they provided a fan heater. bedroom adequate for price. bathroom too cold to use, cant use the fan heater in there.
There was no Wi Fi room freezing cold draughty windows, we need to use a fan heater to heat room up. Bathroom like an ice box. Room tiny, not much bigger than bed. The room above you could hear them use the toilet and the pipes screeched when theirs and our cistern filled back up. the bathroom mirror was 4 inches round, its a shaving mirror and a small one at that. There rooms are in a separate building behind the pub which is ok but the passage between the two is only lit by a security light which doesn't come on until you round a corner so its pitch black for some of the path.
Very good food
Small room rather old fashioned and very lumpy bed! Stayed here 3 years ago in same room and no improvement
Very good service at breakfast, lady was helpful and efficient and breakfast was very good. Tea and biscuits in room a welcome touch.
Left to find my own way to apartment across from main rooms not easy in the dark as security light not working. Room needs updating, hair in sink and marks on towel. Quite basic.
the atmosphere - welcoming & fun! loved the log fires food was marvelous not too quiet good parking
nothing massive, just the lack of hot water! They had boiler issues after a power cut - never had a warm, let alone hot shower!
Large twin room Excellent food Friendly staff Good value for money
Wi-fi wasn't working Bathroom fittings could do with a refurbish - shower hose wasn't nice and the sealant round the shower base was black in areas
Breakfasts; accommodation, Can be self contained if you want it to be. Upon return from a day's cycling, it provided us with some decent ale, a warm shower. an excellent evening meal and good wine. To finish, sat by an "open fire" listening to the wind and rain.
The staff were all really friendly, the food was fantastic. I stayed there to be near my niece who is at Harper Adams so this was a great place to stay.
The road noise.
I enjoyed the warm friendly welcome. All quEstion, requests were answered promptly.
Convenience and price.
Heating not working in annexe room 8. A portable fan heater not very good. The breakfast we had was not up to the usual standard.
Room/oom in need of som refurbishment
Room had comfortable bed and decent pub food for evening meal. Was able to checkout prior to going to sleep.
As I had to leave by 7 am was unable to get breakfast as nothing served before 8.30 am at weekends.
Good food and friendly staff.
An interesting and quirky place to stay but our room needed an update as it had stained carpet and problem with shower head. This place could be excellent if they spent some money on it as the food is really good. Dead flowers on dining tables show that more care and attention to detail needed.
Dinner was good, hamburger was fantastic. Breakfast was very good, and fixed things any way you wanted. After we voiced our concerns in the morning, they graciously adjusted the bill. Staff was very friendly.
2 of the rooms we were given were in an annex, and our room was so close to the road we hardly had any sleep at all. The room needs a lot of t.l.c. like the plastic blinds that were cracked and all bent out of shape would not take much to replace. The room was secluded and big, but was badly in need of fixing up. I think maybe after it's been mentioned it to them, I hope they will be looking with new eyes, and fixing it up. The other room in the annex was not in good shape either, broken lamps and such. Our other couple that was with us had a room in the main building, and it was beautiful. That building was half empty it seemed with other rooms available so why they put us in that other place I don't know. She said we should have said something, but how would we have known at the time our room was that shabby, and the rooms in the main building were so nice? I feel bad to complain, but the traffic was awfully close and loud, we were doing the driving and needed the sleep, and wouldn't have known the other rooms were so nice, and quiet! But like I said they were very good about it and adjusted our bill. We had dinner because the reviews were so good. Figures they decide they wanted to close early that night, and felt like they were all waiting for us to be done, we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was very good though.
Need to get better beds
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food at reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. Good communications to local area.
Traffic noise might annoy some guests in some bedrooms.
The rooms are massive! We stayed in a twin with en suite was very clean and did the job perfectly
I was overall satisfied but the accommodation and menu is a little pricey, having said that the menu is very pretentious so you got to expect that..
Friendly staff, good breakfast,
No mirror in the bedroom, picture fell off the wall during my stay (good job I wasn't in bed at the time)
Friendly, helpful staff. You're made to feel very welcome. Very nice large comfortable room. We'll definitely go back there again.
The dinners were superb, really good catering, adventurous, well presented, and an excellent choice. Friendly staff To be fair, apparently other rooms were better than mine, and I will probably try it again
My room had no Wi-Fi, and no ventilation. It was very cramped and the shower was grubby.
Welcoming staff It was not a problem that booking.com had not passed our booking on Might have been awkward if they were fully booked
Booking.com sending me a confirmation email but not sending this to the Swan
