Score from 228 reviews Very good
superb outlook over river from restaurant and lounge Excellent waitresses both night and morning Breakfast was top notch Room was excellent quiet and tranquil location Prices reasonable for food etc. toiletries good quality selection
muddy patio in front of hotel coffee machine- good idea, but produced only expresso needing more milk . In other words expresso shot or nothing. struggled to get top off shampoo!
Personal staff service at the front desk (especially Daniel - Trainee) and staffs at the resturant. Food at the resturant was excellent !!!
Need newer furnitures at the room - it's too old and the bed was not so comfortable; Need a public phone and computer at the lobby to use by the customers;
Spacious room with large balcony overlooking river (room12).Excellent food and friendly staff
Shower difficult to set requires replacing, very creaky floorboards!
We have used the Hotel previously as we like it's close proximity to The Thames. Also we like Streatley
Great food, good value, large & comfy room
Location on riverside is idyllic. Staff were great.
Location beautiful View from our room (river view) Gym Pool Food was tasty Staff service good
Not much to dislike apart from slow service on one of the nights at dinner - although to be fair there were some difficult customers to attend to. The other night we ate was really good service.
Sunday Roast Beef mainly gristle. Left most of it. Staff did not ask if I enjoyed.
Price was a little too high. Food was over priced and portions were small. Decor in room was tired in places
Recently refurbished room was excellent with comfy bed and standalone bathtub. Great location. Very helpful staff. Didn't get to eat dinner here due to other arrangements, but breakfast and lunch were great with good service. Moule special was exceptionally good and a huge serving for the price. Overall highly recommended.
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room & great location for our needs. Big bonus is that the hotel is pet friendly - great for our Golden Retriever.
If I were a woman staying alone I would not want a ground floor room as they have patio doors leading to the parking area & for fresh air ( no A/C) these would need to be open & therefore a security risk - despite the safety chain.
Superb room looking over the river, helped by a cloudless sky, outstanding food both at dinner and breakfast. Extremely good value for money. Very helpful staff
Staff very pleasant and helpful and rectified problems Beautiful location Newer rooms roomy and pleasant Restaurant food very good and set menu good value for money
Room initially allocated not as booked and paid for (overlooking car park no terrace or river view) and hotel did not have details - due to Booking.com they said! Disabled room had very high rails in wardrobe and other awkward fitments for elderly or disabled person Single room (unrefurbished) has no overhead lighting at all and would be unsuitable if working
Great restaurant and great restaurant staff! The river views were also great!
I asked for an iron and ironing board. The iron was so cool that I could put my hand on it. Took me ages to remove creases! The hairdryer only blew out cold air. Had to ask for a replacement. These things should be checked! The toilet didn't flush properly. I asked someone to check it out - no one ever bothered. The shower was really weak - no pressure. The water was either ice cold or boiling hot - no way to control it. Reception day staff weren't very friendly when I called to ask for something.
Everything, and as the hotel is being renovated, we glimpsed a bygone era. Comfort, ease and fabulous food.
Bed and pillows were superb
Steps. no help, no lift. Room was small, no fridge or frills. Old plumbing, bathroom fittings, needed a good clean
Central heating in bedrooms did not work not good enough for time of year
My room was beautiful and very comfortable with superb view across the river. I found it very easy to relax and wind. The food & service in the restaurant was excellent. Not the cheapest place to stay, but a nice touch of homely luxury.
My only complaint was the creaky floorboards in some of the corridors - but then I guess that goes with the age of the building!
The hotel was excellent, and the position superb. Staff helpful and polite, room warm and comfortable.
The cost of dining. We paid £180.00 half board and our food cost was still £85.00.The bill was hard to understand as all food and beverages were marked as lunch. The very polite Receptionist commented that " A lot of guests find this confusing".
I took my grown-up family to the Swan for may 60th birthday. We had been worried by some other reviews but our fears were ill-founded - excellent service and food, comfortable rooms- and the hotel was quiet when we visited which was a bonus.
two minor criticisms- our bathroom floor was slippery and the wine list would benefit from a shake-up in the mid-price range.
Location Bar Area
Rooms dated and very hot Food expensive
Comfortable room. Informal and friendly staff and good food at the bar.
Could get breakfast before 7.00am which I had requested and paid for as part of the booking. Staff eventually found some cold items.
The staff were lovely & always willing to go above & beyond to ensure a great experience. The restaurant food was brilliant & location right on the river was the perfect backdrop. I would definitely stay here again.
Internet speed could have been better but I wasn't there to surf the web to be fair!
Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us find additional accomodation at short notice. Dinner was excellent. Riverside location was magical.
Restaurant was excellent and the staff very attentive, 10 out of 10, made staying a pleasure.
The health club staff were to say the least useless, seemed guests just got in their way, when went to their desk they were totally unhelpful and off hand, and as a first timer would not get off their backsides (just remained seated) and show us the facilities then just turned away and continued their own conversation, also unable even after leaving phone messages for the beautician after 2 day's of trying could get any response, seriously then began to think it was because my partner was coloured. This attitude left us wanting to leave the Hotel, a pity really because we were also checking out venues for our wedding reception.
