“ We stayed in a converted stable room and it was beautiful, bed was very comfortable, bathroom very modern. The bantams were pecking just outside our window, the rooster crowing in the morning made you feel like you were really in the country. ”

Food was good, particularly the scrambled eggs for breakfast. Accommodation and surroundings were pleasant and it's a good place to explore the Cotswolds. Service in restaurant for dinner could have been better. It wasn't busy but they got our order wrong and that of others. Water wasn't offered and we had to ask twice for a wine top up.....It was rather hot in the bedrooms at night.

The countryside setting. The room decor. The added interest of the Mitford connection. I was very disappointed on arrival to find that, as it was Boxing Day, the pub and restuarant were closing at 6.00. I had not been aware of this and eating in the restuarant was one of the reasons for my booking. I had to drive into Burford in the dark and on a flooded road, only to find that there was nowhere open there either.

Friendly, nice room/bathroom, good food, quiet. The wi-fi wasn't working, there is no mobile phone reception and no outgoing telephone calls are possible from the rooms so as I was on business I felt a bit cut-off. If I had been visiting for relaxation - brilliant! They did allow me to use the bar telephone for a quick call home though and the telephone in the room takes incoming calls. Food is quite expensive for a pub. £15 for a burger, but a good one.

Perfect location in an idyllic setting. Very nice, clean and bright rooms. The food in the pub is delicious and the atmosphere is very charming and welcoming. The room was on the warm side even though we had turned the heating down.

We stayed in a converted stable room and it was beautiful, bed was very comfortable, bathroom very modern. The bantams were pecking just outside our window, the rooster crowing in the morning made you feel like you were really in the country. The atmosphere in the bar was very friendly and inviting, the locals were happy to have a chat and some of them had their dogs with them, which was different. The meal in the dining room was delicious and as the inn is very old the dining rooms were small and intimate. Staff were very friendly and were happy to help in any way. Breakfast was wonderful, best scrambled eggs on our whole trip. The history behind the Inn, re: the Mitford family, was very interesting. Heating in room, overnight, was very warm, maybe just needs to be turned down a little, which I couldn't seem to work out how to do!!

Excellent Location, beautiful scenic countryside. Ideal location with things to do nearby. Great walks and nature surroundings. Staff were very welcoming, very professional. Facilities very high standard with attention to detail and nice luxury decor. The food and environment in the Inn was very inviting. The standard and selection on offer was excellent. Great to see the little baby bantams running around in the morning! A lovely experience and next time will be for pleasure.

Lovely room and the bathroom was super. Staff very nice and welcoming. Nice views from room. Excellent breakfast. Very quiet location. Not only tea and coffee-making facilities provided, but also bottles of sparkling mineral water provided. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and thought it very good value. The only problem from my point of view was the location. Although lovely and quiet, it seemed that every road to Swinbrook was a single-track road, which meant that I didn't want to go out at night as it was difficult enough to find during the day! If you want somewhere quiet and out-of-the way though, the location would be perfect.

Everything. This inn is on the country side, but a very short distance from Burfurd. The Inn is very cosy and picturesque. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Pub/restaurant very nice, serves good food/breakfast and nice place to be. I stayed for 2 nights: -The 1st night I stayed in a double room premium, which upon arrival was a nice surprise. It had a clean bathroom with tub and a very comfortable bed. -The 2nd night I stayed in the Duchess suite (Debo's room). This was truly a very lovely experience. This suite is very beautiful and I can really recommend it. Felt luxurious.

Beautiful location, very friendly staff, excellent food.. My room wasn,t cleaned or the towels replaced, tea and coffee wasnt replenished. They do not serve breakfast until 08.15am in the week, this is totally unacceptable for a buisness traveller, as I needed to be at my customers for 08.00am, I would expect breakfast to be served at this time on a weekend but certainly not midweek.

Att behöva lämna the Swan Inn...

The surrounding area was nice and there were good local places to visit including Cotswold Wildlife Park and Crocodiles of the World. Room was double-booked when we arrived. We were shunted to The Swan's sister pub, The King's Head in Bledlington (about 15-20 minutes drive away) for one night, and had to return to the Swan for the next. Hardly the relaxing weekend we'd planned. Our night at The King's Head wasn't good as we were awoken at 4am by the cockerels they kept on site. We couldn't possibly understand why they would keep such noisy birds where people wanted to sleep. Our night at The Swan was better, we slept better and had a nice enough breakfast. However, we had booked a premium room and ended up with a standard double at both pubs which they attempted to charge the standard rate for, not the online rate we would have paid if we had booked those rooms through this website. Overall a thoroughly disappointing stay.

Lovely old inn in beautiful location, easy to find too! Room & bathroon lovely, food good quality if a bit pricy.. £18 for most main courses.. great breakfast.. daughter raved about the blueberry pancakes! Hubby loved the wildlife outside bedroom window pheasants and birds of prey etc only complaint would be the shower.. it lost all water pressure whilst I was washing my hair..think someone else had turned on their shower. it was also to low for my 6'7' hubby.. head of shower was two inches above my head and I'm 5'7'!!
