Comfort, room size, breakfast, cleanliness
Room heater was not on for arrival
Easy walk from centre of town and restaurants on the way. Good full English breakfast in the morning.
We were not allowed to leave our bags there for the day, meaning we either had to lug them around all day until catching our train in the evening or pay an extortionate amount for left luggage at the station! A major inconvenience and very unusual for a hotel.
Food was undercooked staff were polite but not friendly we stayed in a b&b for a homely atmosphere but it wasnt very homely at all (not any christmas decorations - the weekend before christmas)
Staff friendly. Good parking. Clean.
Breakfast just edible. Room very basic. Discounted price was about right, but higher original price very misleading.
There was nobody around at all to speak with. First night/morning was freezing as heating in room didn't work. Luckily partner had tools in car so fixed it. Hotel web has a dining room pictured. The dining room was locked and had to go next door for breakfast
Very clean staff left you to it. Very comfy bed and very clean. Great location 15 min walk into town.
Having to go next door for breakfast
The hotel was good value and was clean. But that was the extent of the good stuff.
The hotel is currently on the market. Funny they don't mention that on the website. Anyway, there is no management on site. The chap from the neighbouring hotel gave us our keys and our breakfast. Was only for one night. I would not stay here again.
Location Big room
Swan Travel Hotel is a B&B, NOT a hotel! Staff are NOT present in the Swan - they live and operate from another hotel (or B&B) next door. On arrival could not locate a member of staff. Breakfast was very poor.
Location is not too far from the center, but a bit of walk is required (30min) Rooms are clean Maps are available at the hotel
Breakfast, housekeeping and check out are early, which is fine if you want to leave your room at 9am but not if you want to sleep longer. Location is not too far from the center, but a bit of walk is required (30min)
closeness to city centre
paucity of options for breakfast
I enjoyed my days at the Swan Travel hotel they're very kind and the place is comfortable. I mostly loved the comfort of the bed the location is beautiful the entire place is well cleaned and all the stuff/items work perfectly. A place to visit again.
Nothing 'cause all was fine.
Close to city centre, good value for money
Well located hostel. You could come back at any point in night.
The place was untidy. The hotel staff was incorporative. Apparently they only work till 2-3pm so we were suppose to check in and check out by then. We couldn't even leave our luggage with them as our train departed in the evening. Worst part was that they seem to shut down heating in the middle of the night. Hearing was weird. There was no hot water in the tap even after 10 mins of running. There was cold breeze coming in through the window all night. In terms of cleanliness.. It wasn't much clean. The toilet was un usable in the morning. At the time of the booking it wasn't clear at all that they were booking us into a shared bathroom facility which was the real deal breaker. Breakfast was decent but I really doubted that their vegetarian sausage was actually vegetarian. It's definitely cheap vut it's cheap for a reason so be careful.
Not a lot
Heating jammed on full, shared bathroom, had to up en windows to breath , located on main road so when windows was opened very noisy. No sleep because of open windows traffic noise, we checked in at 4.30pm and told the staff we only wanted the room until 10.30 pm as we had to go to work. We where charged £125.00 for that with no recipit. Poor communication as the owners English was very poor.
Heating didn't work properly
Bed, shower, heating at night
small basin, no biscuits with tea/coffee, did not meet any staff because not available
Comfy bed, good breakfast, good location.
Having to ask for a toilet roll when we arrived. Two radiators in room but cold for the 2 days we were there, did not see anyone to ask about putting heating on. The kettle had to be plugged in on bedside table or on floor between toilet and shower. breakfast was served next door at the Williams Hotel. Got a cup of tea not a pot and it was cold before we had finished breakfast.
Great value for its price
No shops working after 9pm nearby
You were left to your own devices. Staff were friendly.
No fridge in the room to keep juice, milk cold. Cooked breakfast offered in the morning was not that good.
good sleep good breakfast good bus service to city
Close to food and off street parking was good
Breakfast was odd. Small room and they told us to come down just when everyone else was coming down.
Good location. You have to put in 200 characters minimum but can't think of anything else good to say
Had to go to B&B next door to be able to book in. You also have to go here for breakfast in the morning. Not ideal. The car park is not suitable for motorbikes as it is gravel, the side stand sinks into the gravel and can fall over. I booked a family room as it had 3 beds in but was given a family room with double and single(not good for 3 fellas sharing). It is within walking distance for Edinburgh but that's the only plus.
There were a lot of spiders! In the sink and shower. One was really big!
Able to walk to city Parking good Breakfast good
Missed ensuite Had to go next door for dining room
very good to stay location is fine
