We liked the fact that we were free to come and go as we pleased and could take our key without waiting around at reception when going out and coming back to the hotel.

We stayed at the Swan Hotel for New Years Eve. From the moment we booked, the staff at the Swan were very helpful with all our requests and requirements. We arrived early and were offered a complementary tea and coffee. We were showed to our room quickly and telephoned a few minutes later to check we were satisfied with our room. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Beata, the manageress was very polite and helpful. We would definitely think about returning.

The location was excellent and the hotel was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the evening menu was well varied and reasonably priced! The fire alarm went off several times before 8am on the sunday morning. We had not be advised of any tests and no explanation or apology was offered when we checked out. With our stay being a relaxing weekend break, the alarm woke us and was disruptive to our stay being so early in the morning.

The central location near a range of restaurants with a pleasant bar in the hotel. Staff are polite and helpful. We were disappointed having had room 2 at the same price to have room 5 which was so much smaller and not as clean. The toilet in particular had a small bloodstain on the lid and grime at the back of the rim. The shower door hit the basin with a crack because there is no space between the two. The breakfast menu is limited although the food itself was fine. I recommended the hotel after our 1st stay in room 2 to a colleague who was disapponted with the cleanliness of the room hence I cannot recommend it again. We would ahve returned for a thrid 2 night stay in March but now I am not sure.

General traditional pub ambiance. Comfortable and very well positioned in a lovely town.staff very good, we were upgraded without asking Very uncomfortable about the nightly lockdown.although the fire exit was very clearly signposted, would prefer a reception and front door.

We booked a room with Booking.com, but the hotel had no record of our reservation. However, Carol, the manager, was very understanding and efficient and found us a lovely room for the two nights of our stay. Everyone at the hotel was attentive. We enjoyed the large breakfast and ate both of our evening meals in the restaurant. Carol, in particular, made our visit more enjoyable. She is an asset to the hotel.

The staff, service and the Fireside Room 12 - The Mattress gave us back ache, the shower needs replacing as power to weak. Room appeared to be damp. Presentation of steak Pie was poor although tasted fine. Parking should be free for hotel guests, very inconvenient and costly to remember to top up if not knowing plans immeadiatly. The Hotel rooms is not 4 stars, more like 2/3 stars. Rooms are the quality of a bed and breakfast establishment. Tv did not work properly.

Location was great. Very easy to walk to from the train station. Room was quiet and comfortable. Food menu was good and the quality of the lunch we had was excellent. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The wardrobe smelt musty when we opened it. The breakfast menu said just to ask if you had allergies and they would do their best to accomodate it. There was no soya milk or vegetarian full breakfast alternative unless you just took the meat off the standard one. Staff were not very friendly at breakfast.

Staff were lovely Location is good The hotel side of the business was quite run down, it could do with refurbishing. The bathroom needed a good clean - with bleach, the decor was old, and needed to updated. The bedlinen was clean and crisp but the mattress was falling apart - with springs sticking out.

Good bar/ restaurant. Good food and excellent breakfast. Location is fantastic. Fullers are going to refurbish according to the staff and the hotel part could do with this sooner rather than later. Would have been disappointed if had paid full price because of this.
