The breakfast was great. The bar was great. The staff were very friendly. I booked a Superior Double Room. The bedroom and bathroom were tiny. Much smaller than the booking implied. It was clearly only meant for one person not a couple. It only had one towel and one dressing gown. Perhaps we were given the wrong room?

I liked the decor of the room. The bed and linen were very comfortable. Nice shower. The breakfast was good A hairdryer was provided but only a small shaving mirror to look in to dry your hair. There was a full length mirror but no socket nearby. I felt the shutters let in too much light. The door keys to the room were a bit difficult. Maybe change to a card system.

The location of the Swan Hotel is perfect for exploring Arundel. There is a short stay car park directly behind the Hotel or you can park along side the river for free. The breakfast offered good choice. The Red Lion Pub had great atmosphire as it had a music event on and we were made to feel very welcome by the locals. The walk along the river to The Black Cat Pub (approx 3.5km) was wonderful. I will be visiting Arundel again as I would love to explore the walks into the South Downs. Unfortunately when we arrived at 6pm and were shown to our room it had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. 1Hr 45 mins after being cleaned by the duty manager we eventually could access our room at 7.45pm. As we were there for a birthday celebration this delayed the start to our evening. Despite being compensated for our delay and the staff making the best effort for the error, especially the young lad behind the bar who I would like to thank, I find it hard for a hotel of only 14 rooms to make such a fundamental mistake. I had booked this hotel based on the amazing reviews posted by other travellers. I can only imagine that being fully booked over the bank holiday weekend the high standards mentioned by other visitors had slipped. Saying this the bathroom was not up to the standards promised or the price for a superior room with luke warm water, cracked tiles on the floor and a general feeling of not being very clean. Mould round the bath was not what I had expected. I was disappointed at breakfast that the duty manager had not checked to see if everything had been ok after the error the night before. I'm afraid that due to the lack of cutomer service from the management in the morning I will not being revisting this hotel. For information we stayed in room 5. I do hope that this was a one off for the Hotel as I have not had to post a negative report before on booking.com

The hotel was maintained to a very high standard, spotless and a pleasure to stay there. We like to eat later in the evening. After our day out, returning to the hotel at 8.45pm we were disapointed to find on asking that the kitchens were closed we felt that was rather early especially for hotel guests.

The food in the Hotel was excellent and the staff serving it were very pleasant. The Hotel did not have a car park. The reception was in the bar. The shower cubicle was not clean enough as the plug drain was full of 'someone's' hair!

Nice atmosphere, lovely breakfast! Lots of nice touches, toiletries, biscuits and others. Really good location. Helpful staff. Had to wait for room, didn't mind that as enjoyed a few beers, but then the bathroom had lots of hairs on the floor. Huge bathroom but hit head on ceiling if you stood up in bath, ouch. Paid extra for luxury but room quite cramped.

A really tidy, friendly hotel with a nice village style pub & restaurant on the ground floor. Good atmosphere throughout. There was a little bit of noise from other rooms due to the age of the building, but not enough to detract from the overall experience.

Staff attitude - very welcoming, 'can do' approach, nothing too much trouble - made our stay very enjoyable. Excellent breakfast menu and service. Comfortable, clean, well equipped room. Lighting in room not really sufficient, especially for getting ready to go out. Parking not brilliant.

Lovely room, nicely done in Farrow and Ball, and clean. Nice bath. Excellent food and beer. Good location. Overall it was great. There was just one staff member who seemed unhappy to be there and was rude to us a few times. Everyone else was great.

Everything was modern and thought through for a good experience. the only thing that if I wanted to critisize was the tea tray needed a little attention .It was stained with tea ,as there is nowhere to put tea bags, after use.and my cup was chipped.,and there was nowhere to hang big damp bathsheets.
