The location The comfort The facilities
Nothing to dislike
loved the breakfast...ALL VERY FRESHLY COOKED Good sized bedroom with comfortable beds
the only thing about the bedroom was the pillows which were too soft.
friendly and helpful staff and comfortable lounges.
unfortunately the evening dinner was very disappointing the chicken was almost inedible and I really should have complained. Because I have stayed twice before I have decided to stay again but eat else were in the evening.
Great hotel in a handy location for exploring the Lakes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable four night stay.
Had to be careful everytime we went in the bathroom in case we scalded ourselves on the heated towel rail.
Outstanding views from bedroom Quiet hotel, central location for accessing the less commercial Lakeland areas Wi Fi in bedrooms Breakfasts
Stained, threadbare carpets. Cigarette odours. Tired decor Staff not very welcoming
Breakfast was good
The bathroom was dated and could possibly do with some redecoration
A very relax, homely hotel. Hotel staff are helpful, the food is excellent an the beds are exceptionally comfortable. We will be back!
The location was perfect...beautiful setting and the staff was very helpful!
The musky smell in the room!
Not being able to turn the hot towel rail off, even staff could not. Wall paper was starting to peel and a general feeling of a run down property.
Good location, just a short walk in to the village. Breakfast was extremely good.
My only criticism was regarding the comfort of the mattress; have slept on better.
The Staff were polite and friendly. The gardens were in an immaculate condition and gave wonderful views of the mountains.
The rooms are a little dated and require some TLC.
Location Staff in general Excellent service at breakfast
£3 charge on any credit card payment on checkout (not advised of this up front) Staff shortage in bar in evening when it was extremely busy - only one staff member who had to pour/serve drinks, take food orders, make coffees etc etc Some maintenance needed - eg noisy creaky floors, jaded decor, stiff doors.
Good location, friendly staff, good food and good facilities. All that you need for stop over. A little pricey but worth it.
I liked the room because it had heavy curtains, allowing us to sleep without the light coming in. The room was also very pleasant. Breakfast left you with a variety of choices and service was prompt. We also received a little gift of shortbread when we left. Thank you for a lovely stay in a pretty little village. Your hotel did not compromise the overall setting.
There wasn't much to dislike.
Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff.
Pot of tea for £5! That sharpened me up a bit!
lovely food in restaurant staff were very good and helpful.
can only get baked beans for breakfast not for bar snacks like pie chips with vegetables!!!! come on.
The Breakfast was excellent
The food was great. We ended up taking advantage of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were also very accommodating and it was nice they let us into our room a few hrs early and let us leave our car in the car park after checking out while we went for a cycle.
The room was far too hot & the bed too soft. We ended up removing the duvet from the cover & just sleeping with the cover only. Having a sheet available and a fan would have helped.
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Creeking, noisy floors and hard mattresses.
Nice Hotel in a good location
Cost - over priced Hotel including the food and beverage, not good value for money i.e. Tea £4.53 a cup
We had the most comfortable bad ever, and after a wet days walking on the hills there was a great drying room. The individual staff were lovely.
Organisationally it was a bit like staying at Faulty Towers and the evening meal was unimaginative. The price of a packed lunch was a joke!! ( we did without!!)
Staff were pleasant & helpful. We had a nice meal outside in the garden. Location fantastic.
I was expecting for the price we paid more of an experience. Little things like some of the tiles in the bathroom were cracked & the room was generally a little worn. Shower gels etc were not replaced each day automatically. Breakfast was a little on the small side. Bar facilities not inviting especially the room for bar meals.
