Nice room, well appointed The price! £240 without breakfast was a bit steep. On arrival we also had to pay £5 per day in the Hotel car Park which we weren't made aware of.

Very helpful and friendly staff, particularly at the reception desk The flexible pricing that changes on a daily basis is confusing. The bar meals are merely average( but the restaurant is good). Paying for the car park overnigh (residents)t where as day guests are free, seems odd. Shouldnt it be free for the residents with guests paying?

Location I booked 3 rooms for my retirement celebration to share with my family on arrival all rooms were cold with no heating ,no parking due to public also allowed to park there !.and charged £5 for the privilege. I left my torch and medication in the room on departure on phoning I was told they could post to me at a £5 charge disappointing after spending £492 plus over £200 in the food hall in the evening . My next booking will be with the Holiday inn who in the past have been far more accommodating and helpful. I was also informed credit card payment would be taken on day of arrival ,this was taken on a day of booking beware!!

The bar with the great service and excellent range of beers and wines was fantastic and the food and service in the bistro was superb too. The extra charges for parking in the hotel car park, using a credit card and having a newspaper were not appreciated.

We were very happy with our stay. When we arrived we were surprised to find they did not have the booking. Your omission to pass the booking through to the hotel nearly lost us the stay. Look to your own business.

From the pictures online, it appears and the statements seem to reflect that the hotel is on the river, which is not. The hotel main entrance was non-existant and the hotel was difficult to navigate. The beds were uncomfortable. The ratings (stars) was far in excess of the product provided.

staff worked well to cope with difficulties that arose and went out of their way to offer over and above what was asked for to make our stay better than we hope for Back entrance to the hotel from the car park did not welcome or show the high standard elsewhere. Flower basket was dead. door did not illustrate a strong welcome image but of a grotty back door where the laundry comes in.

Closeness to RSC and Centre of Stratford We had booked a for a pre-theatre meal at The Bear (part of the hotel) but nobody had advised us that the rugby would be on the television there. The place was very crowded and noisy - we could hardly hear ourselves think. When we tried to switch to The Bistrot Pierre, we could not because it was fully booked. This was a very disappointing situation and not what you expect at a good hotel.

The Swan's Nest is conveniently located. The hotel is very basic for it's class. I ordered a large Bloody Mary which was served to me in a pint glass, when I went to take a bite out of the celery stick and not only was it soft but the end in the bottom of the glass was rotten. There is poor sound insultation between the rooms and we could hear the people above us walking around. Breakfast is poor and the full english very disappointing; you don't get very much and the sausage is certainly not "premium". Coffee is metered out by the cup and you have to ask for a jug if you want more - and it's just filter coffee. Very disappointed having stayed in a really nice Macdonald hotel in the past.

An extremely comfortable, conveniently located establishment alongside the River in Stratford upon Avon. Ideal for the Theatre or even closer to Cox's Yard (Music and Entertainment Venue) where we attended a live music event. We were fortunate to get a table in the hotel's pub for our evening meal. It was tasty, good value for money and the waiting staff were excellent. Drinks prices were a little on the expensive side. We had an early start on the morning and did not attend for breakfast. Having to pay to park on site!

We stay there frequently; its location is excellent for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. We did not like the way the car-parking fee (£5) does not appear 'up-front' but only when you get to the reception disk. We have always had free parking on previos visits, and note that, although you are now asked to get a windscreen display ticket from reception, there is no discount as against the price the general public are asked to pay - so you could infact pay the fee by using the ticket machine! The hotal do offer a partial refund to users of their bistro-restaurant, but not to patrons of the hotel itself. Not euqitable.
