Steeped in history and surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, Passford House Hotel lies midway between the New Forest village of Sway and the Georgian town of Lymington.

Score from 104 reviews Very good
Ideally situated in the New Forest, close to the small town of Lyndhurst, this friendly hotel is set back from the road and offers quality accommodation at affordable prices.
Score from 232 reviews Very good
The Crown Manor House Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lyndhurst Village, the capital of the New Forest National Park. This boutique hotel offers spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking....

Location was good.
Bath and toilet were dirty. Service in the morning for breakfast was poor.
Welcome warm. Our room was changed at my request to the top floor one I had last visit, and thought I had booked. Restaurant and wine list good.
New coconut matting on bedroom floor very uncomfortable for bare feet. No mirror in bedroom to use when drying hair. Wifi nonexistent in bedroom and very flaky even in reception.
Had a very good laugh with all the staff, Becky you made us welcomed ;-). The village is so beautiful has every thing you need and the Hotel is right in the centre off it all. I would 100% go back next year with my girlfriend.
Nothing on this trip I didn't like... Had the best break for our 1st trip away..
Location ideal for New Forest. Lovely grounds. Pleasant staff.
Superior room not up to description on website. eg. No seating area, telephone, alarm clock, bed throws and scatter cushions. Two disturbed nights with staff moving tables after midnight, and someone returning at gone three in the night.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms had been recently refurbished to a good standard. Shower was good. The restaurant and bar area was well laid out with good views over the garden.Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat in but from what we saw it looked very good.
The hotel has 4-5 acres of grounds which could look stunning but needs some work to bring them back to life. The hotel has new owners and so this is an ongoing project which I am sure will be sorted in time. Front car park looked tiered and had a large pot hole at the entrance again I am sure these will be rectified soon.
Our room was newly decorated and tastefully furnished with an excellent view over the gardens and pool. The food was beautifully presented and well cooked. The staff were very courteous and helpful.
Aside from our room, other areas were 'work in progress' with a lot needing to be done to achieve the owners ambition of a modern above average hotel.
The swimming pool and cobservatory restaurant over looking the garden
New owners but more home comforts required
No shaver point in bathroom No Hair dryer point in bathroom No mirror in bedroom area Rugs required in bedroom area to cover bare boards
Gardens Location near New Forest
Food not too good All public areas need updating
The area and the fact that pets are welcomed. The gardens are extensive and excellent for dog owners. Friendly reception.
Slightly run down in some areas, but the new owners are addressing this.
Nice layout of room. Fresh and modern.
Ten minutes for the shower to heat up and then was too hot. No mirror in bedroom. Rugs needed on floor to absorb noise. Couldn't connect to wifi. Cups for tea and coffee too small. No fridge.
decor, staff helpfulness, accessibility
pool covered up unless you asked for it to be opened
Nice friendly staff especially Niall good luck at uni, pleasant area comfortable room and lounge area overall a bit pricey for what you get cost of wine a bit steep but generally satisfied and would stay again.
Message to owner Tim for gods sake change that dreadfully awful music it drives people away. Wi-Fi very poor in most areas, no phones in rooms very strange for a hotel advert needs attention as misleading in places ie pool heated all year which it is not poor choice of beer in bar.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The bedroom was very small considering it was a dog friendly room, there was not much room to put a dog bed. Staff made the bed but did not empty to bin during our stay. Thought the hotel was overpriced for the facilities offered.
The food at this Hotel is very good. Bedroom large with refurbished bathroom. Bed was large and linen excellent. The staff could not do enough for you. In particular Niall was very attentive. A lovely place to stay and about 1 mile from the New Forest. New owners since January who are gradually refurbishing the Hotel. We would definitely stay here again and wish the New owners (Tim & wife) every success in the future.
Hessian carpet in bedroom was uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. No handrail in bath (which was lowered into the floor).
Friendly staff. Room was large and comfortable. Hotel full of character. Hotel being updated and it's really paying off. Will surely stay here again.
Building, reasaurant setting, gardens, view from bedrooms and restaurant.
Dinner was not good value for money. Free canopy was olives a nut. Rather no free canopy than, disapoinement. Courses were small portions, not very well preperad.
Staff tried hard to please but there weren't many of them.
Restaurant food was terrible - go 100 yards down the road to the Silver Hind; better food and better prices. The hotel is being allowed to be run down and turned into flats. Overpriced for what it was.
I liked the garden and pool and the view of it from my bedroom (no.4) window. I liked the deco of the room and the bathroom with slate tiles and a large shower head. The food. The dining room. We liked the windows and the thickness of the curtains.
No one offered to carry the cases. The shower was difficult to adjust, wet all the floor and there was nowhere nowhere to put soaps. There was no shaving mirror, light or electrical shaver socket.
beautiful old building, pleasant gardens
rooms not well equiped, no telephone
staff, particularly restaurant waitress grounds were beautiful
I found the bed uncomfortable At breakfast, when I asked for croissant, I was told there were none left.....and with only a few guests I felt they should have been able to accommodate everyone.
Young staff were very good at what they did,but were sadly let down by the Owner not being around when residents were about in the evening, which is when most of the activity in the Hotel would be.Unfortunately the young staff were left to burden the load of complaints.
Although in midst of refurbishment, one priority must be to have a shower that actually works properly.Room was enormous with bed, sofa T.V. crammed into one end!! Although the garden was pleasant to look at,the side of the Hotel was like "Steptoes Yard".- a building site. The bar was large and again, all the seating and tables crammed into one area - why??? No atmosphere - choice of alcoholic drinks was limited - draught beer was awful - spirits in short supply.Didn't have my drink and ran out of my wifes' drink. The conservatory was attractive to look at,but again no atmosphere due to lack of Diners. The food was not good - the menu was limited and over priced - we had two meals on consecutive nights - my wife's first meal was overcooked and inedible, the second was incinerated and again inedible. It is no wonder the Hotel does not have residents that actually stay to drink and eat. At breakfast on the day we left, there were at least 14 people in the dining room who were not drinking in the bar and eating in the Restaurant the previous evening. The venue has potential, but is overpriced for what it offers and will continually struggle to fill the bar and restaurant every night if it carries on in the same way. Sort out the menu(offer people what they want to eat at a reasonable price) and create a bit of atmosphere for residents to relax and enjoy their stay.
Food and room very good
Carpet, staff were not trained and needed reminding of items ordered, noisy windows, pool tatty and breakfast area not very well lit.
Staff were all pleasant and the room was clean and well presented
1) We stayed on the 2nd floor - lack of water pressure meant having a decent shower was impossible 2) The bar/restaurant area was soul-less with tired & worn furniture (holes in the upholstery doesn't look good) 3) They need somebody to look at the place from a guests perspective as an over flowing bin outside the entrance door is not good to see nor wilted flowers in the lobby!
Good location Good food Friendly staff Good size room
As paying for superior room it was let down badly by bathroom cleanliness A double bed with only 3 pillows! We only stayed the 1 night otherwise would have complained.
