Would have liked different beers.
excellent all round
Food expensive but brilliant staff excellent
We liked the room, the bathroom, the inn downstairs, the meals and lovely breakfast. The view perfect.
Location, very quiet. Beautiful countryside. Good food and drink at reasonable rates. Dogs welcome.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Good food, cosy and comfortable. Excellent value.
Tv reception was poor.
The view from the room was amazing. The ensuite was massive! The pub had great food
It was hard to find

nothing to dislike
The hospitality with bar and bed and breakfast.
Views, bar area, pool table, dart board, en suite room, clean & comfortable.
excellently located wonderfull views old worldly charm was warm and cosy nice breakfast and kitchen staff where very pleasant and helpful appeared to be clean and tidy good location for walking and outdoor sports would go again
felt the price we paid was a bit high for the time of year we stayed drinks where a bit expensive and we only had one drink each because of that
Lovely location in scenic valley, close to lots of lovely walks. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere.
No bath ! Could have done with a lovely soak after a day on my feet. We had an ensuite shower but would have liked the option of the bath .
The views, the food, the staff, the services
great atmosphere excellent food & ale very welcoming to walkers e.t.c. staff friendly, and no airs, and graces.
Attentive staff, great food and clean room
Between you and SwinsideInn you doudle Booked and we had to move out after three days into a Bed and Breakfast although we had been booked for nearly a month not Good Enough
Phenomenal values and great value for money
WiFi could be better but it's understandable!
Duty manager went out of her way to resolve our/their problem. We were told that Booking.com had not blocked out our room after we had booked it,(CatsBells) and the owner's parents had been booked into it instead of us. A room without a decent view and a refund was a reasonable compromise.
2nd choice room was a compromise. Shower could not cope with low water pressure and was either way too hot or too cold. Noisy plumbing...airlock? Room very close to kitchen and noisy extractor fan switched off rather late in the evening then back on for early breakfasters.
Very happy with our stay we have stayed at Swinside in the past
Location Staff food
This was my first visit to the Lake District and this was an ideal base. The pub was cosy, comfortable and the food was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and worth the windy roads to get there as you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere!
Location and price was good !
Shower leaked water from casing ! Reported issue !
Generally friendly staff. Breakfast and beds good.
Vegetables were watery and tasteless. Unfortunately ruined an otherwise nice meal.
In a gorgeous location with fab views. Rooms were excellent value for money and they are dog friendly so out pug could enjoy the stay to. Steak and ale pie in the evening was delicious, breakfast was alright, we have eaten nicer in the lakes but it was big enough to keep us going for a days walking. Great walks on the door step and close to Keswick for a selection of pubs and shops. Would stay again soon :)
