Keswick is a pleasant town in the Lake District beside Derwent Water. Plenty of restaurants and pubs. There is a market on Thursdays. The Pencil Museum is worth a visit, small but full of interesting facts on the manufacture and use of all types of pencil. The circular boat trip around Derwent Water is a pleasant way to spend an hour.

The countryside around Keswick is beautiful.
The countryside around Keswick is beautiful. The views from Catbells are fantastic and it is a relatively easy climb, but VERY busy and almost a procession. The Pencil Museum was brilliant, really interesting and well done, we had a quiz sheet to complete, and it enhanced the experience. The town was busy, but not unpleasantly so, there are lots of independent shops and cafes. We also went to a play at the Theatre at the Lake, which is a lovely venue. The Keswick Museum is small but interesting.

A good range of restaurants and cafes.
A good range of restaurants and cafes. Keswick is well placed as a base to explore the Lake District and local stores contained all items you might need whether looking for an energetic or leisurely experience.
Excellent location with Keswick town centre only a 10 minute walk away with various shops and a little market. Great locations such as Buttermere and Scafell Pike are both within a 30 minute drive. The property was decorated exceptionally well with the 17th century history in mind alongside updated utilities. Though the ceilings are low (do mind your head!), the property is worth hitting your head a few times! The owners of the property are also extremely helpful and accommodating with fast responses via the app.
We had a lovely stay here. The place is in a great location if you don’t have a car as it’s only a 15 minute walk into the town centre and the bus stop is a 2 min walk away. The room we had was lovely and clean. The owner was very nice and have prioritised the safety of guests by having self check in and only a certain number of guests at a time in for breakfast (you have to pick a time the night before). The breakfast was delicious. I can’t fault a thing about this place and can’t wait to stay again!
Just returned from a wonderful 2 days in Keswick. The property was very clean, warm and welcoming and only a 5min walk to the town centre. The room was a good size with a very comfy bed and excellent large walk in shower. The breakfast was outstanding and probably one of the best I’ve had! The hosts were very friendly. Would definitely recommend. The homemade flapjack was a lovely touch! 😊
The location was a little way from Keswick town centre - about a half hour walk. This was not an issue as the weather was good, but you do need a torch to walk back from Keswick in the dark.
The breakfast was superb, the best we've had in a B&B. Tasty sausage, properly cooked bacon that was also really tasty and perfectly cooked poached egg, topped off with fried bread - a treat 😋
Everything was perfect and we loved the attention to detail in our generously sized room. It was a bonus that we could park our car right outside the door. Easy short stroll into the bustling town centre. Paul and Christine are hospitable hosts and we would definitely recommend a visit. Looking forward to repeating our stay sometime. Thanks for a great weekend!
Lovely place to stay. Excellent hosts, Lorna and Simon, who made us very welcome and gave us some good tips on walking. Fantastic breakfasts and lots of little extras in the room which was much appreciated. Large bedroom and very comfy bed.
Good location, short walk along a disused railway track right into the centre of Keswick.
Would definitely visit again.
Lovely B&B in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. We were made to feel welcome straight away and were given lots of good recommendations about the local area. Very accommodating at breakfast and the room was cleaned throughout the day. We would definitely stay at Glendale again.
We liked the location, nice 15 minute walk into Keswick . The apartment (Honister)was very spacious and the buffet breakfast was lovely. Staff couldn't do enough for you especially Howard on reception, he was very courteous, extremely helpful and is a credit to the hotel .
The studio was in a good location with the town centre an easy walk away. We had a parking spot at the studio which was a real bonus for accommodations at Keswick.
All in all it was a great little place to stay with everything we needed for a few nights away.
Lovely friendly and helpful couple/owner's.
Nice clean rooms and just a short walk to Keswick town centre.
English breakfast's were delicious, using quality ingredients 😋.
A nice warm welcoming place to stay for a few days 😊.
Friendly owner with helpful suggestions for hikes, local activities, restaurants. Well located for Keswick attractions but in a quiet street away from the town centre. Nice front garden to sit in if the weather permits.
Excellent location within walking distance of park, lake and town centre .
Lovely hotel with car park ,friendly helpful staff, immaculate rooms with comfy bed and beautiful views.
Lovely breakfast with good choice.
Paul is a brilliant host, he couldn't be more helpful and his breakfasts were excellent. The location is near to the town centre and easy for parking.
Will certainly go again at some point.
Staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for you. Room was lovely and cosy, yet spacious. The location was brilliant for Keswick town centre and Derwent Water.
