good basic hotel. pleasant staff.very clean.convenient for st pancreas and the city within walking distance. Breakfast ok. we were at the back of the hotel which was fairly quiet.
pressure on the hot tap good but no pressure on the cold which made the shower weak
Decor old and tired. Steep narrow stairs down to basement room. Decor could definitely do with a lick of paint. Extractor fan covered in dust and black stains on the ceiling above. wobbly fittings in the bathroom. Shelf hanging off the wall. All of the above might have been bearable, but the noise levels from the traffic in the street outside were ridiculous. Cars, lorries and motorbikes accelerate up this street at all ours of the night and morning meaning that unless you have heavy duty earplugs you don't stand a chance of sleeping at all.
The location is good with relation to Central London with easy access to the rest of the city.
doors close loudly disturbing people who are already asleep. Please fix the door so that they do not make bang noise while closing. Also instal an elevator for those who are disabled, too old, or have heavy load.
Good wifi Close to kings cross station
Dirty room Stained bed sheets Tiny dirty bathroom Uncomfortable bed Overpriced
5 minutes from kings cross.
Like sleeping next to the m25,dirty but shower ok,breakfast was simple cheese, ham and toast, not very exciting.
Friendly staff, great location and very clean
Location Cleanliness Staff
Difficult to sleep as I stayed in road facing room.Lot of traffic noise.
The Price, but you get what you pay for.
The room was small. No closet or hangers. No chair at all to sit on to put my socks on. TV was terrible. Bathroom so tiny you could just about turn around it in.
Helpful and efficient staff. Room prepared in advance and as requested with baby cot. Room available early.
Room was hot - no air conditioning.
Near to the city and tranport connection.
On basement can not use window for fresh air.
It was clean and the staff friendly. All facilities were provided, tea / coffee / biscuits, hairdryer, shampoo etc. Simple continental breakfast provided.
The room was a bit dated and tired. I had a room on the ground floor (street level) but the lock on the window didn't work. As a solo female it was a little concerning.
Good location - near to the main train stations
-located on a very busy street (noisy even during night hours) -hard to access the hotel and the room with a baby carriage -unpleasant smell of the bathroom -dirty carpet
the shower and bed was comfy would stay again, staff very friendly and helpful on the desk
room was a bit small . At breakfast staff talking different language while we were eating would be nice to speak English while customers are sat eating but they were friendly
Breakfast was adequate Wi Fi excellent
the comfort of the bed was a disgrace, we booked on recommendations of others the beds were good, suspect big variation in quality between rooms. Room small but manageable, except very hot and stuffy, no fan. Poor security, window did not lock.
We stayed at Swinton hotel 3 nights. The room was big enough for two people and bathroom was confortable. Breakfast was good and in particular the position close to Kings Cross was so useful to visit the city. We will come back.
Wifi was not available in our room, but in the hall only.
Staff were helpful and very friendly, great location to kings cross station, room was clean and tidy. Staff kept our bags all day as our train wasn't until the evening. Continental breakfast which suited our needs, overall great stay and good value for money
The only problem was the smell from the bathroom but was mainly in the morning
clean friendly staff
needs updating decore very dated
Excellent location Reasonably clean and organized Acceptable breakfast Acceptable price/location/comfort ratio
Staff (with one exception) not very friendly Toilet with incorporated shower interesting as space saver but uncomfortable for guests and not reflected in the price No skim milk for Breakfast - very old fashioned
Pleasant staff..single out Mr Mizan, reception, as unfailingly pleasant and courteous..processed a refund due my earlier departure with grace. Afternoon Tea and biscuits possible with free supplies in room.
Pre-Dickensian interior, gloomy, narrow corridors, 3steps up 2down 3more up. Reception floor in shockingly bad shape, first thing I noticed entering hotel. My request for 'garden side' room got me a view over the roof of the breakfast room below. Tinyest room I ever had. No decent table with no plug adjacent meant using the kettle on the floor. Tiny, but modern bathroom was 'all-in', I showered in company with the toilet and washbasin. Shower flow sparse and weak. Continental breakfast offered no fruit or yogourt, but juice.cereal, toast, ham, cheese, bread, otherwise ok. Room light switch next to the bed so was able to turn out the light while in bed, but lighting very gloomy and difficult to read anything in the room lighting. Generous (!)12'' television. Closet door impossible to open fully due close to bed. I considered the hotel overpriced for the standard of this hotel, but in London they can get away with it.
The breakfast room is grubby, especially the carpet. The hotel needs to invest in a proper coffee machine. The bedroom could do with a small table and the bathroom is lacking a shelf and plug socket. The towels are old and frayed; there was not bathmat.
Convenience to Kings Cross and St Pancras which is why we booked it.
On a noisy road and our room was at ground level facing the front.
The convenience of this location for attending a wedding at a church in Holborn. Street parking - I was able to park my car outside to drop off my bag prior to the wedding, and pick it up again the following afternoon. The helpfulness of reception staff and availability of a luggage store and WC facility adjacent to reception. Only a short walk to the bus stop for a bus back to Holborn the following day to collect my car.
room rather small which one would expect from a hotel of this nature, I had a room on the front and although there was secondary double glazing, the outside window was open and I couldn't manage to shut it, therefore didn't sleep too well with trafic noise. The shower was open in the shower room, therefore after a shower the floor was very wet for going back to use WC and the washbasin. The size of breakfast room inadequate for the number of guests - had to wait for a table to become available, layout of breakfast items cramped. tea & coffee facility in the room - only two tea bags were left out.
Ideal for Kings Cross and anywhere on the Northern and Circle Lines. Good price. Quiet and clean rooms.
close to Kings Cross Station
Noisy, small rooms, not very clean.
