Score from 43 reviews Superb
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the service personal and attentive. Great food.A relaxing break with very high standards, just as described
Lack of showers in bathrooms
Location was very good and quit.
i booked double bedroom but they made double bed by join 2 twin beds which was uncomfortable for couple. Because when you double bedroom then you expect a double bed.
ideal location for hiking and exploring N-Wales
room (suite) and leisure facilities a bit outdated
This is the only hotel I have ever stayed at where I truly felt like a welcomed guest rather than a customer. The host is charming, and the whole ambience makes you want to stay in the lounge and chat to the other guests. It is a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere. I could have stayed for weeks. And the dog liked it too!
Look, I could carp about the same negative things other reviewers have noted--they're mostly true--but it would be mean in the extreme, considering the lovely time we had.
Everything from the room, to the homey feel. Food was spectacular.
Not a bad word to say.
Very friendly, great breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable 100% happy with my stay and wished I could have been there longer.
A little tired but that adds to the character
Location Leisure facilities Service from Hugh, the owner. Genuinely caring.
Tasty breakfast but small portion
Quirky yet stylish hotel Comfortable lounges Spacious suites Excellent host & service Beautiful location & grounds Quality bedding & towels Gorgeous pool & hot tub
Smoke alarm in one of the rooms kept going off because it was too close to the bathroom steam! Dining room was a tad disappointing compared to other rooms Non-existent wifi in bedrooms
Lovely suite pleasantly decorated and very quite.
Very welcoming host Hugh, very happy to help.
Our room didnt have a fridge like stated on website and we weren't offered another fridge or use of one, or even change of room as hotel wasn't fully occupied.
Very peaceful location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, tea & coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits and bottled water.
Room tired, could be cleaner, uncomfortable bed, no shower (only hand held shower attachment on bath).
Stayed overnight with evening meal. Good pool with gym facilities. Dinner excellent and host very welcoming. Very well located being in the countryside but very close to Conwy and LLandudno. Looking forward to a return trip.
A small point but prefer a proper shower rather than a shower attachment to the bath taps
We were allowed to check in early which was a bonus , shown around the Hotel and to our room.Made very welcome and tea was given complimentary when we arrived very pleasant stay
Signage to the Hotel and it was not lit up at night, when we returned to the Hotel after going for something to eat you had to get out and open the gate which was not lit up and made walking on a cattle grid a tad dangerous in the dark.
The location. The Owner and Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The location was sublime. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Facilities were very good.
Loved the tranquility and the meals very very good. Excellent staff.
Wonderful house and location. Loved the accommodation, especially as we had a suite and a veranda. Hugh was friendly, but not too overwhelming - made us feel welcomed as a guest in his home. The food was very good - locally sourced ingredients and the best lamb we have ever tasted
Compared to other hotels we have visited, we were not that impressed with the table service. Although our waitress was thoroughly efficient and very polite, we felt that she lacked the personal 'touch' which Hugh clearly demonstrated. We would have preferred someone who took an interest in the meal and out thoughts!!
Lovely hotel in a fantastic peaceful location with Very helpful and friendly owner and staff. We had a lovely afternoon in the hot tub and swimming pool followed by a fantastic evening meal and excellent food. Breakfast was fantastic also with plenty of options.
Check out time would be better if a little later
The location was superb Hugh the host was marvellous. The evening meal we had was second to none worthy of a top class restaurant. Breakfast delicious.
Although licensed there was'nt a bar. The room we stayed in there was'nt a dressing table to sit at to apply make up and dry hair.
The friendliness of the owner and staff.
The lack of a walk-in shower in the room.
bit tired in places
We had a very relaxing overnight stay, enroute to Holyhead at this delightful country house hotel. the atmosphere was very informal and the bedroom very comfortable. The proprietor went ot of his way to ensure his guests needs were catered for, and given my wife's dietary restrictions, this was exceptional.
we only stayed for one night
Very friendly owner who made a big effort to make us feel welcome and was very accommodating. Lovely house in beautiful grounds and room with terrace outside. Excellent meal with best steak I have had in a long time!
Lovely place but needed some attention in terms of upkeep: eg peeling wallpaper in restaurant ceiling and peeling paint in swimming pool area. Light fittings in room flickering at times and one hanging out of the ceiling not working in the room. I would prefer a proper shower in the room - there was just a mixer tap with a shower over the bath but hose not long enough to stand up! Though there were showers in the pool area changing room. Quite a high price for what you get in my opinion.
Check out time a bit early. 11am would be good.
peace and quietness of the house.nothing
A bit out of the way but very elegant for the price and just down the road from one of high ridge Wales walking trails. Bring you shoes. A nature center us also nearby.
We liked everything.
