The staff extremely friendly when I arrived . Clean bedrooms, Nice breakfast, 5 minutes walk to city centre, never regret staying here.
Friendly owners Good value for money Family bedroom (triple bed) came with a good sized en-suite bathroom Very clean Free wi-fi
Only very minor things that people should be aware of before booking: The bedroom was quite cold Limited parking 'Continental' breakfast was basic but still tasty (don't expect ham, cheese, yoghurt etc)
Nothing i like?
Service is not professional way.The room was top floor very risky to boiler was not working no hot water. wi fi is not working.all of friend was upset with me.Absolutely rubbish service ??????
The patrons. The family feel. The breakfast. The unpretentious atmosphere that many hotels and b + b s suffer from. thanks
the time of having breakfast is restricted and the quantity of breakfast is small.
It was clean.
Very run down, stuck in the 70's I'm afraid. Room was in attic, bathroom as such was down stairs. I suppose it was cheap but I've stayed in much better accomodation for the same money. Returning to Plymouth in the new year but certainly won't be staying there.
But nothing else .good homely
Crisp owner ,lack of flexibility
Good location-near Railway Station and not far from centre of Plymouth. Bus stop on main road. Good breakfast served quickly-we had to get out by 8.30!
Could smell cigarette smoke-very slightly-perhaps from outside through window.
Nobody there when I arrived about 1700. Major problem if you have no UK phone!
Walking distance from Plymouth Station. Unusually fast Wi-Fi for a guesthouse. OK for a unfussy single male (can't comment on the double/family accommodation) Extra chair provided so I could sit at table with laptop.
Payment on arrival seemed to be most important. All decor & furnishings were subdued, inconsistent, and on the negative side of 'quirky'. Dowdy entrance hall with a curious feather lined table lamp. I opted for breakfast on Booking.Com - it was continental (but with scrambled egg on toast as an option)
Badly in need of updating.
Clean friendly nice bathroom and bed was comfortable
Stairs above bed could here other guest going up and down also not to easy for parking
pleasant, clean, reasonable price...good straight forward place to stay close to city centre
Parking was OK as over sat/sunday would have been probelmatic if during week
so called standard room should highlight that there is no toilet and shower inside the room but need to share with other tenants.
The guest house was reasonably clean and the staff were pleasant, very close to the town.
A little run down and the mattress needed replacing so uncomfortable nights sleep.
The staff were welcoming & friendly. The room we were given was perfect for what we needed & I thought it was very cute. The bathroom was nicely spaced. The bed was ridiculously comfy & had nice furnishings. The tea cups provided were amazingly cute too, I do love a nice cup & saucer. The breakfast, though early, was very nice. A continental breakfast with cereal & fruit to help yourself. Plus, toast & egg was offered. I chose the scrambled egg & it was lovely. Fantastic location for those unfamiliar with Plymouth as it is opposite the train station & very short walk to the city center.
Wifi signal wasn't brilliant, but we were warned of that on arrival & it was free so really didn't mind all that much.
Good nights sleep with a quiet location. Clean facilities Good range of restaurants within 10 mins walking. Great location to the train station Good accommodation, what you see is waht you get
Breakfast was very basic
Small rooms. Banged my head when standing near bed. Plastic cups which were not replaced. Breakfast was basic.
not very friendly, not communicative. We were asked to pay immidiately on arrival before beeing shown the room. In the small lobby there is a very strange lamp with black feathers, I had never seen anything like it, I was aesthetically challanged.
Location was ok, room clean very old fashioned furniture. Only plastic cups and £1.00 liquid soap. !!!
The smell of the guest house as soon as the door opened. Musty smell not fresh and very dark inside . Not at all friendly. No hello asked straight away for the money. Very very poor breakfast . Served from 8.00am to 8.30 am . Only available fried egg on toast one slice or scrambled egg on toast one slice.Cereal in plastic tubs, wroten fruit banana, apple,.Served with one croissant not offered anything else. Not even extra tea or coffee. The bathroom with Liquid soap still in original container marked with the price if £1.00 nasty smell . would. Not Recommend . In helpfull when leaving we asked if we could leave our luggage for 1 hour as our train was at 12 noon No we had to be out of the room for 10.00am . When we handed the key back no receipt was given nor even a thank you . Very disappointed indeed.
Cheap at £40 a night.
Fawlty Towers atmosphere, no check-in after 9pm, no breakfast before 8am, pervasive smell of floral air freshener, small bare room, not en-suite.
Very friendly staff.
Limited breakfast option. Wifi connection intermittent. Car parking awkward.
Close location to train station, quiet street, friendly hosts, lovely breakfast.
No hooks in bathroom
