Friendly staff Amazing breakfast Comfortable beds
Very friendly owners, very cute dog, great location, nice breakfast, decor dated but would definitely recommend.
v GOOD BREAKFST
A clean comfortable guest house with friendly staff. Well placed for walking into Shrewsbury. Good value ,
A small leak through ceiling onto my bed. From the stains, it had happened before
lovely full English breakfast
Stayed here one night, visiting my sister in shops hire. Bed was so comfortable. On arrival we were given a lower room as I am disabled. The breakfast was superb. Kept us going all day on our long journey home. Very friendly staff. Thank you
Kettle did not work. We did not report until we went to breakfast, So they had no chance to Chang it. As I'm sure they would have.
The room! No sleep because of the traffic and pub opposite. The smell! The drab furnishings and tired decor.
He like's the cleanliness and politeness of the staff. They are also very helpful and friendly and assisting. Totally he was impressed how affordable it is. Overall it's a very nice quiet place to stay.
Not very strong wifi needs improvement.
Great staff Room good size Clean
Area not the most secure feeling Poor Wifi
Bedding and towels were clean
Bathroom was not clean enough. There was black bits on the corners
Very good breakfasts 3 pubs within one minute's walk Easy walk to and from the station
the breakfast was really nice, good quality, quiet location, easy walk into town, helpful, friendly staff
Good location. Great value for money. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Room in need of a little tlc but comfy beds. A good couple of nights sleep and a yum breakfast!
Excellent breakfasts! We walked in and out of town to save the hassle of finding parking.
Rather cramped rooftop room with noisy fixed radio clock which could not be switched off. I'm sure lower rooms were more spacious.
Fresh bedding, comfy bed.
Short walk into town. Safe parking.Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast.
Not much not to like!
Very good location, only 10 minutes´ walk the centre of Shrewsbury. Comfortable room, free parking, and an excellent choice of breakfast.
All equipment in the room actually worked! Hair dryer provision in room Windows that opened easily! TV subtitling availability appreciated Room well cleaned Friendly breakfast staff Good breakfast (though was not asked if I required toast for marmalade. Made do with spare toast from poached eggs, which was actually OK but hardly the point. Feel I should have been asked if I wanted toast!)
Room 3: Curtains of bay window behind dressing table were off the runner in places and curtains would not move unless jerked. Climbed on dressing table and fixed this myself - think it should have been noticed and dealt with before I arrived! Curtains still did not run smoothly however - still had to be jerked awkwardly from below. Completely new runner is needed. Also noticed when handling the curtains that they felt like they could do with a wash or dry clean. How often are the room curtains cleaned? (Tedious job I know!) Shower room bin had not been emptied - but easy to overlook. (Room itself very clean!) Felt that as a "mature" lady the member of staff showing me upstairs on arrival could have offered to carry my rucksack!
Good value traditional style b&b, pleasant location, clean room, comfortable beds, great English breakfast (apart from chipolatas one morning).
Damp issue on bathroom ceiling and in wardrobe- could do with rectifying and redecorating. Hearing staff member using somewhat uncouth language towards the resident dog.
Location excellent for town centre and surrounding areas Good breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
Wash basin a bit too small
breakfast timing very limited - 8 till 9.00 too late
a very loudly ticking clock that was not able to be turned off in a very small bedroom
It was an inexpensive option for accommodation in Shrewsbury and as such was reasonable value for money. Facilities, food, staff were all adequate, not more.
The price - cheap night's stay. Good location. I was upgraded from a single to double which was nice. The shower was powerful and bed comfy.
The curtains were not thick letting in the morning light and there was some traffic noise which woke me early. The WiFi was not working until the morning perhaps the router just needed a restart. The fried breakfast was bad if I were to stay again I would stick to the juice, cereal, toast, perhaps risk scrambled eggs. I think all the elements of the fried breakfast were low quality, the baked beans were ok, and the fried eggs edible despite being cooked in dodgy oil, the hash browns were the worst I have ever had and the mushrooms not edible either. I would also go for tea next time as the coffee was very poor.
Good value, comfortable bed, good breakfast and off-road parking was a great asset and the main reason I chose Sydney House in the first place. An easy walk into town.
It would have been good to have better curtain linings. Very bright at 5am!
Central to Shrewsbury .
Parking facilities insufficient for amount of guests .
