Well located. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Very quiet place. Free parking. Good breakfast.
Small room but it´s an old building with style. Internet is ok , but some little interruptions
breakfast was nice although our toast was forgotten
Rooms are very old fashioned and very small nowhere to put toothbrush etc in the bathroom other than a tiny shelf over the loo very unhygienic. Not really the quality I am used too regardless of the price
The room was acceptable
The booking was for two people as specified on booking.com and I was told the price previous to going. After we had already spent the night I got told I'd have to pay more and they changed the price. The manager was an elderly gentleman and was completely unprofessional. Customer care is definitely not top of the list at this hotel. He called me a grumpy young girl and implied I was stupid by saying no one had done this in the twelve years he was there and it was just me. He was strongly unprofessional, rude and quite clearly showed lack of due diligence. His puerile behaviour reflected badly on the hotel and I would definitely not suggest anyone stay here.
great breakfast friendly, helpful staff, quietness location
mattress very uncomfortable ruined my holiday as it effected my sleep and caused pain to my back. Staff said they could not change mattress or change my room. Black mould inside shower, staff did remove that, also the black dirt around the shower head.
Staff are lovely, they really are helpful over and above the expected,I will be staying there often
If you need a taxi before 9am order it the day before,
Breakfast - not stingy with portions and quality ingredients. Room provided everything we required for a comfortable stay. Overall quality of service excellent especially considering the modest price - no corner cutting.
Maybe a little too generous with heating in rooms!
Very clean. Bedroom lighting suitable for comfortable reading. Parking. Breakfast freshly cooked using good quality ingredients. Traditional local opposite selling real ales.
No complaints at all.
Very good breakfast.
Absolutely minute room. Tiny single bed just squeezed in and an en-suite shower and toilet where, frankly you could hardly move. This should really be advertised as a Small single room. The house has a rather gloomy dank feeling and musty smell too. Poor value.
Shower was not very powerful or modern
Very clean Comfortable Warm Welcoming Helpful Value for money Fantastic breakfast!
The damp on my ceiling Very thin walls Hotchpotch dated decor
Location from town cent
Noisy outside as there is a pub opp.but it's not a disaster
Staff were helpful.
The room was definitely in need of updating. The carpet was badly stained, the shower head attachment was broken so that the height could no longer be adjusted, the soap dispenser kept on falling off the wall, there was black mould on the walls. It was not awful, but very poor value for money at £45 per person.
Sydney House is walking distance from the town and they serve excellent breakfasts. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Sydney House to anybody visiting Shrewsbury.
All good, staff great very friendly and helpful. All good thoroughly recommended!
Clean, comfortable place to stay. Free parking in Shrewsbury, which is a bonus. Excellent Full English Breakfast.
We lost 0-5.
location, breakfast, carpark (though spaces limited).
bedroom small, beds not bad but furniture inadequate (eg.no chairs or anywhere to lay out clothes overnight). Stairs difficult for the aged.
everything is ok, very little road noise, and the location is 800yards from the centre so no noise from revellers.
breakfast is a little early for a weekend, it is from 8 to 9
Friendly staff , comfy bed and delicious breakfast . I would stay here again.
Free parking Easy to get into town. Tremendous breakfast. Comfy bed.
Second time here. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is great and the location in walkable distance from Shrewsbury town.
Standard size double bed which was comfortable but just a little small for tall people. A little noisy at night with traffic till about 11 if you want to leave the windows open but overall very good.
Friendly welcome, good location, parking spaces available highly recommended
I really must recommend the breakfast, probably as good as any I have had, excellent. Very friendly staff, definitely would go back, enjoyed our two nights stay
Breakfast was probably a little early for our liking, I like to relax and have a bit of a lie in when I'm on a break.
Close to station and town centre but in a nice quiet location. Three pubs in very close proximity. The breakfast was very good
The two ladies we met were lovely especially the one who served breakfast talking of breakfast it was outstanding and it was nice to see such a cute little dog sat near the door on a morning
On entering the building it looked and smelt like a nursing home from the 70s then we got led to room 3 if you are offered this room REFUSE it it's cramped very noisy from traffic from the many roads below and who ever lives above room 3 resembles a mini elephant I had to resort to banging the ironing board on the roof to try and get them to move about a little more quietly it worked bed uncomfortable decor tired bathroom disgusting mould dirt cobwebs everywhere and I've never seen such a room decorated with poor attention to detail whoever does the DIY needs sacking it was just flug together with no thought other than that will do well I'm sorry it won't in my opinion from what we experienced this hotel isn't worth more than 2 stars needs a full top to bottom refurb
Friendly staff Amazing breakfast Comfortable beds
