Very friendly staff and good food ( breakfasts ) Easy to find being on the main road, plenty of parking space. Hotel rooms are small and very dated. Shower room was too small and badly laid out. The sink unit took up to much room, both my wife and myself kept stubbing our toes on the coner of it when going to the toilet. The shower room is also too dark, both the decor and the insuffient lighting making it difficult to shave and put on make up

Service was good and attentive, although hotel not busy. Breakfast was pleasant and staff very friendly and punctual. This is not a modern hotel, it does need refurnishing soon , but that's not to say the existing decor and furnishing is poor, it is dated that's all. Rather stay in clean friendly hotel with good beds like the Craw's Nest than modern, dirty, uncomfortable hotel !! It is a traditional hotel with plenty of good parking in a very convenient location for St Andrews, which is all we needed. En suite facilities were more than adequate and very clean if a little dark on the furnishing side. Young team on hand as hotel staff on reception and in bar and very helpful.

Friendly staff in bar and restaurant, made to feel welcome. Receptionist was full of information and very friendly and approachable. Nice guests also. The hotel heating could not be control in the rooms, but that was the only faulty.

It was a good base location for our golfing trip. The hotel had a very 'tired' feel about the place. The food quality was adequate. The original room booked was quite cramped and although the hotel was practically empty during our stay we had to pay a considerable amount to upgrade to something a little bigger. In my experience anywhere else I've stayed would have offered an upgrade if available without charging £14 extra each per night. The rooms need some better sound proofing.

We enjoyed our stay here, but found the bed uncomfortable. Our room was no 9 and we were above the kitchen which resulted in the room filling with cooking smells, even in the bathroom. The hotel itself was lovely, the staff very friendly, service very good and the breakfasts were excellent. We would return but would ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. The beds and where our room was situated.

The setting and views of the sea are excellent. Waking up to such a vista makes a wonderful start to the day. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff The first room we were shown was very small and cramped and I would not have accepted it. However, the second one we shown was what we would have expected from a hotel with such a lovely reputation. Our dinner on the first night had been left under the hot lamp too long and as a result, the fish was slightly over-cooked and the sauce had dried on the plate. We ate elsewhere the second night

It was near to where I wanted to go The basic problem is the rundown nature of the hotel: it badly needs an upgrade. The staff were courteous enough; the atmosphere of the place was friendly. But the room was comfortless, with one upright chair, no desk and stained carpters - a feature of the hotel. It was permeated by a smell of frying. It is true that the price was modest - £76.00 - but a b and b at that price or lower is often better, and I regretted not finding one. You wll lose business if you dont upgrade.

The hotel was very dated the room we were in was small and I need of refurbishing as was most of the hotel the locaction for us was excellent but over all very disipointted with the standard of hotel .walls were paper thin all noises heard for shower tv and just gerneral speaking in the room next door. Also could not open window as. Extractor for kitchen right out side window of room 27. Would not have stay another night the owners should look a local estabishments like the bank and waterfront to see the stanards this hotel is in a time werp Breakfast was good

The Craw's Nest is a lovely seaside hotel in the East Neuk of Fife,it was for a long time a family run hotel and the family built a wing in 1985 named after Eddie Clarke. This is the part of the hotel that we stayed in and the view from the window first thing is absolutely wonderful. You can see the waves crashing on the harbour walls and the sun rising over the sea.The staff were very helpful and were very happy to still serve us breakfast even though we turned up on the 10 A.M. Sunday when breakfast hours are 8 to 10.The cost of our twin room was so low at £70 including breakfast. We paid £80 as it was worth more. The decor has not been updated which I feel would not be appreciated by any new guests. It is unfortunate as woodchip wallpaper even freshened with white paint still is very eighties and dated.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good food, well presented Wheelchair access to the hotel is awkward. Despite requesting a wheelchair friendly double room we were initially offered a room on the first floor, but there is no lift. Then offered a twin room with access in a separate annex.

Comfy beds and nice sunny dining room. The yellow bathroom suite and dark brown bathroom walls. The fact that I was given half a slice of black pudding at breakfast! Was it rationed???

We had to leave after only 2 nights as my husband was taken ill. The staff were very helpful in an unobstrusive way and called a doctor for me and brought supper to our room as well as helping with the luggage on our departure. The room was rather small.

The location (nice to be able to see the sea) and the service. The staff were extremely pleasant. The room was rather small, and there was hardly any space for clothes. The rack for hanging clothes was completely above my head. The reception for mobile phones (o2) was very poor.
