Established for 21 years, the family-run Valley Hotel, located on the beautiful island of Anglesey. A wide choice of scenic beaches are just 10 minutes away by car.
Score from 220 reviews Good
Easy to find in the dark as the building was well lit. Plenty of parking space. All the staff were friendly, as were the customers! Food very good. Open fire in the pub was welcoming. The bed room had all we wanted, including plenty of milk for tea and coffee - often in short supply! Warm and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money.
We received a warm welcome and all the staff were freindly. The Full cooked breakfast was good and the Sunday Carvery was exceptional (optional extra) Our last visit was not so good ,but glad to see they have improved on the earlier problem.
Although they improved their fire alarm warning. If you try to use a mobile phone to contact a member of staff, you cannot guarrantee a signal
- Excellent Location - Excellent Surroundings - Very friendly staff - Part of a pub - Breakfast included - Price
FOOD Gosh it is wonderful! Not expensive, we cooked and presented. Staff are great. The place is stunning.
Rooms are lacking in attention to detail. Old telly, cheap fittings, lack of space in some. Old a bit too old fashioned despite super pieces of furniture.
It is clean and comfortable and the location is good to get to everywhere
Maybe could have had children's menu
Good position easy to find and commute to other cities/town. English Breakfast very good. Heating very good but not very controllable. Staff very friendly.
Stairs to room very steep for older person and staircase isolated from public areas so a fall would not be discovered. Towel rail could be a little closer to shower--- 14 foot walk across a floor which could be slippery.
Service was ok, nothing special. Staff were friendly and responsive. Breakfast was good.
Room was unclean. Drawer had someones left over undergarment. TV didn't work. Shower was blocked, and staff were unable to fix it. Tried using a plunger, that didn't solve it. Was not offered a solution, instead I had to suggest if they had another spare room that we could use for shower purposes. This was made available. When I complained to the manager/owner in the morning, I got an apology. Could have done more.
Located in beautiful Anglesey close to Snowdonia and historic sites. The food was really good, honest pub fare and the full breakfast (black pudding included) was a perfect start to the day.
The room and en suite were very tired - shabby even - but you get what you pay for.
Tafarn Y Rhos was really good value for money . The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was very clean . We are already planning a return visit next year .
Rude staff Loud generator
Location easy for Bangor far enough away. Brilliant sunrise on journey to Bangor. Friendly staff
Breakfast start 7.30 I needed to be away earlier and no alternative was offered.
Well situated, close to the A55 and the Circuit at Ty Croes
Location to ferry port
Great place for overnight stays with very friendly staff. Welsh is spoken as first language
same standard as ever, friendly staff, good food, clean rooms nice beer, making breakfast for us at 07.30 on a Sunday morning. Close enough to Ty Croes race circuit.
didn't see the cat that lives by the air vents in a special house.
We certainly had a rest, alternative room was offered as we were not happy with one booked, food both in the evening & at breakfast was excellent. Good central position and handy to market town of Llaneffli
Please don't book a budget room. The one we were offered only had a roof window and someone had left it open & the carpet was wet! It did have a huge bathroom though and for one night? Maybe
Quiet room and comfortable bed and pillows. Plenty of parking. Good food. Easy to find.
Neither of us could think of anything we didn't like!
A pleasant holiday atmosphere and a cheerful mix of guests, including several large, happy families.Conveniently situated for exploring Anglesey. Good breakfasts, with wide choice, both mornings.
We arrived in very heavy rain and received no help with getting our luggage from car to hotel once we had checked in. As we are both quite elderly this was a disappointment. In contrast the person (manager?) who booked us in had had no hesitation in taking our money before showing us our room. Nor was he particularly friendly - not a word of welcome, but keen to know the precise time we would like breakfast! Our evening meal was a disaster, due to a misunderstanding (for which we were partly responsible) when our order was taken, but made much worse by the attitude of the aforementioned 'manager' when we complained. After a very long wait, we ended up with an unappetising meal we hadn't ordered, even second time around. This got the first day of our holiday off to a poor start.
We only stayed for one night as we were just having an end of Summer break and staying at Tafarn Y Rhos was just perfect for us.
Nothing bad to say as it was just as we expected
Ideal for overnight stop near A55 or while visiting friends. Clean & friendly, It provides all that's required without frills.
Nothing really - but it is a pub restaurant, no quiet lounge. But wasn't important to us.
Fantastic Shower best ever. Good Breakfast. Wasn't there for Dinner
Stairs to first floor quite steep.
Friendly people, location.
Wifi was very hit and miss.
