Easy parking & big room
Asked for quiet room and got view and noise of busy roundabout. Full English b'fast pretty small (e.g half tomato & half mushroom)..had to ask for toast for preservatives, not automatically placed on table.
Rooms could be a lot cleaner and breakfast area could be hoovered before breakfast
The food was excellent. Staff were very polite very informative about local places we could visit. The rooms were both very clean adequate for our needs. There was plenty of car parking spaces. Good value for money compared to local hotels. . Location not very far from local attractions.
When we arrived dirty towels were still in the corridors
The room was a great size check in and out staff were wonderful
The breakfast experience wasn't good the young lady never smiled food was ok not a lot if choice for cereals or fruit
Really lovely hotel. Staff are so accommodating, couldn't do enough for us. Room was large with double and pull out bed. Would recommend.
Room was very warm with windows that opened slightly. No air conditioning. Pillows were very flat with no head support. No toiletries such as soap, shampoo. Not visited a hotel that didn't supply this yet.
Good location. Handy for food. Good parking. Friendly staff.
Some rooms are noisy due to traffic. Double glazing is needed.
Our stay here was lovely food great and all staff helpful and pleasant..would definately stay here again..
Venue, gardens & location. Our room was light and airy with a comfortable bed.
No air conditioning in the room. The stairs needed to be vacuumed & there was a plastic bag in the corridor throughout our stay. Coming down the stairs for breakfast we could see that the tables had been rearranged but there was food debris all over the floor and a plastic bottle under our table. Just a few things that would have made our stay even better
Spacious family room Nice restaurant
Restaurant still had food on floor at breakfast time from the previous evening
This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel since it was taken over by Marstons. I was impressed by the change of layout, food served and also the friendly staff working there. I will be back soon.
Can't beat it for friendly, well mannered staff. Beautiful hotel & small garden, with great play area. Good fantastic. Will be going back.
The beautiful gardens, space for children to play. Good menu. Lovely staff.
Nothing i didnt like.
Food excellent Hotel surroundings excellent
Shabby bedroom (Room 3) Toilet/Bathroom Door very difficult to open & close. Furniture edgings broken or missing. No storage space - No Drawers, Cupboards or shelves. Management were already aware of the above problems when we pointed them out at Reception
Food is very nice and good value. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Perhaps a tiny bit expensive, I would be happy to pay £70 - £80 p/n for this type of place, but £95-00 no.
staff, room, food and good size car park, easy to get to other places
no pen and paper in room or travel leaflet
Friendliness, informality, convenience - and the manager spontaneously offered a discount for our lunch food, even though we had already checked out that morning.
Slow service at breakfast even though there were not many guests there
staff so helpful pleasant especially ROB who was still smiling many hours later ,Breakfast was very good the size and choice .
food was excellent, good location, service was very good, staff pleasant,
No air conditioning, cleaning could have been more thorough, lack of seating in room, no late bar for residents,
The staff were lovely, courteous and helpful, it was beginning of school holidays and clearly they were over stretched to accomodate non-residents vs residents. Nice thought to give bottled water in rooms. Staff changed my towels irrespective of where I left them.....ie bath or rack, very kind but needs closer observation ;-)) and it took > 3 hours to have an iron and ironing board delivered due to front of house shortages. Your focus is for non residents which is understandable, but you need to balance this.
Being given a bedroom not suitable for a working woman, ie a dressing table with a mirror would have been great, plus some drawers and hanging space ie a cupboard NOT above the luggage rack and perhaps a safe deposit box although I recognise this latter is difficult. It was hard to put on make up over a toilet and sink combo in a bathroom. Windows were difficult to prop open, the Bible was more useful than anticipated wedging a window open.....perhaps in extreme heat, fans could be made available, even if at extra cost in rooms where a breeze is not going to happen! A thought...you could make space in the area that was cordoned off from the general public for residents to relax of an evening and watch a bit of telly so they are not isolated in their rooms, the pub atmosphere is great but not for the lone business person when staying in a bedroom in extreme heat is awkward.
Liked the bar, and food facility. Downstairs decor and outside area.
Hotel bedrooms, quality of bedroom furniture and poor layout of bedrooms. No air conditioning.
Attentiveness of staff. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
Bathroom in room 9 was very small and could have been cleaner.
We loved it here, food was great and 20% off for guests, the staff couldn't do enough for you, even ensuring my young daughter had milk at bedtime as we forgot. Our room wasn't made up as a family when we arrived as I booked late and the housekeepers had left - but as soon as we mentioned it someone was straight up there making up the second bed. Very helpful and very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend.
It was a very hot day in wales and the rooms window didn't open enough to let any air in so it was very stuffy and hot, although I'm sure if we weren't in the middle of a heat wave this wouldn't have been so bad. Could do with air con though. Also small niggle that's not really and issue, it was a little noisy when they were clearing down the kitchens at night as our room was at the back. Only about 20 mins though.
Free wifi available everywhere. Cheerful, friendly and helpful staff. Good food.
Bedroom window was rather dangerous for a family with young children - sash window, bottom opening, to floor level. On a hot day, this was a disadvantage. On the other hand, they didn't know we had 2 small children with us in advance because booking.com didn't inform them.
A well maintained, clean, well laid out & welcoming establishment. Staff very helpful & friendly. Food good & reasonably priced. Family friendly both inside & out.
