The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

It was not possible to turn off the radiator in the bathroom on a hot, humid night resulting in a very poor nights sleep. The poor condition of the desk chair in the room nearly casued a serious accident - staff notified The facilities seemed to be in poor condition and the hotel desparately needs time and attention to bring it up to a reasonable standard. In summary, not good value for money

The location was good as it was close to home without being in the town, however we were there for a friends wedding reception.

The location is good and handy for being close to Yarm and nearby countryside or Towns of Middlesbrough and Stockton, however it has very tired decor in the rooms and is badly in need of a major refurbishment. There were broken tiles in the bathroom and the toilet cistern was also chipped, there was black mildew all around the bath and the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever known.

We booked a weekend break to relax and chill out.. We stayed at the Tall Trees and despite several terrible reviews we were amazed! Nothing in them reviews were true, the hotel was modern, clean with excellent services and the staff were amazing, we will definately stay here again.

The young girl on reception in the morning promised me Sky Sports on in the bar, but when it came to 5 minutes before ko, the man on reception said the bar was closed, so I had to race into the nearby town where I missed 15 minutes of Arsenal's mauling by United..

The elegance of the entrance and public areas

I felt that at its peak it was probably a luxurious hotel but felt that it is now becoming a little tireed and the rooms did not reflect the plublic areas

Rooms clean. Reception and front bar are best.

Restaraunt service is slow and breakfast seem like been cooked the night before.

The hotel rooms were nice with large beds. Some staff were very helpful. There was plenty of parking. The pool was great.

We booked with booking.com well over a month before staying. I called a few days before our stay and they allocated rooms next to each other, which was essential as we were staying with young children, some with some specific health issues. On arrival, this had been changed with one room allocated in a completely different part of the hotel. Thankfully the member of staff behind the desk was able to sort this out so we weren't too far away. Also breakfast on the Saturday was calamitous - they had not put on enough staff, so whilst there were plenty of tables, there wasn't staff to clear them. There was a long queue, and the breakfast manager was quite happy (actually he didn't come across ads happy) to seat people only for many of us to find there wasn't actually a selection of food that one could call a decent breakfast available. Other guests were also extremely unhappy. Having realised this before eating but after queueing, I had to take two of my children into the nearest town to get breakfast. It would have been very difficult to feed them if we hadn't had the foresight to have plenty of adults in our group to look after all the children. The hotel might say that they were exceptionally busy and that they didn't know how many to expect for breakfast, as for these dates. Well, the hotel changed their breakfast arrangements, and we weren't allowed to pre-pay for breakfast, but did inform the hotel that we wanted breakfast. This hotel is being re- developed, so let's hope that these are just transitional problems. If all the staff and management are focussed, it's a good place to stay. Otherwise .....

Convenient as it was the wedding venue. Easy parking, easy to find.

The welcome by the reception staff could not be fualted. The hotel siuted me becuse of its location and where my business appointments were. I enjoyed using the leasure facilities. The food served in the bar was of a good quality and they were large portions, good value for money. For a hotel of this quality the drinks were reasonably priced.

The bar service was extremelly poor. The bar itself is situated upstairs on the same level as the accommodation. The bar staff disappear on a regular bases at times for up to 15 minutes, I twice had to go to the reception desk to ask for bar service. On one occassion there was no lime or lemon available to go with my drink I was told by the bar person that he had not had the time to go and get any from the kitchen. It later appeared in the bar but too late for my first drink. I did complain to the reception desk in relation to the bar service, as it was a daily occurence that you had to wait a considerable time for the staff to appear and serve you. I was in the hotel for 4 nights so it did become frustrating.
