Fantastic location overlooking the coast, friendly staff and excellent food.
Everything was perfect this was a treat for my husband who is terminally ill we were treated with such care nothing was too much trouble hopefully will do it again soon
Peaceful surroundings and staff who made us feel welcome.
Could not fault it from start to finish, in my opinion the Savoy and the Dorchester in London are equal rivals.
Loved the location. Liked the quirky artwork and collections, the room was great with a fantastic view. The food was also good, and there is a great collection of Ginn to choose from
I like cats and dogs and have been a dog owner, but am a little allergic to their hair, so didn't really like the pet hair all over the sofa near the fireplace (opposite end to Bar). My partner is a little OCD and also allergic so this is a bit of a mood killer
We were house hunting in the area and it was a wonderful way to relax in the evening. Staff, food and comfort just fabulous! Thank you all.
Would have liked a more powerful shower but understand the difficulties with older dwellings.
staff always very helpful and eager to please.
Location, staff friend / helpful and very clean.
Food was poor quality and not nicely cooked for the price. Would have expected 1st class. Will probably eat out next time. When we highlighted this on departure we were not offered compensation of any sort. This relates to more that one evening meal.
Everything, we throughly enjoyed our stay at the Talland Bay hotel, we will definetly be visiting again, thankyou for your excellent hospitality
friendliness of staff. free upgrade. lovely room. attention to detail.
Feeble shower. No mobile phone service.
Wonderful setting, beautiful hotel, really accomodating and professional staff.
Everything! Exceptionally helpful staff. Fantastic quality food. White Company toiletries in bathroom.
No draft beer.
Staff were attentive but not over so.
Very special place. Excellent. Quirky, sophisticated, classy artwork and furnishings. Lovely grounds. super staff
Rooms are lovely and have everything needed for an extremely comfortable stay. Pets are welcomed and well looked after with lovely treats and sausages for them in the morning. All food served at hotel is absolutely first class from breakfast to genuine gourmet standard fine dining. All in all staying at talland is a real treat and the location is stunning
Nothing to complain about. My only comment is that the downstairs area, including restaurant, was over heated at times. Turning the heating down by 5 degrees would have been perfect.
Location is stunning. Hotel and grounds are quirky but interesting. Staff were attentive and pleasant.
Perfect view, very ideal for relaxing. Quiet atmosphere. Great food and service as well.
The wifi was slow and not very strong.
We obviously did'nt notice that the hotel was advertised as "dog friendly", but we were taken aback at the number of dogs present especially in the dining area.
Fantastic setting - almost in a private cove. Food excellent, staff very nice. Manager a little on the grumpy side, but I think that's just her way! Perfect for a romantic weekend or just a quiet, chilled-out break.
Booked quite late on, so fairly expensive...
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and didn't smell doggy even tough they are refered to as dog friendly. This was a concern of ours before we arrived. The hotel is full of quirky objects and art which keep you amused and alert, we were still noticing unseen things on our last day of the week. Look out for the arm and leg in the dove cote! The views all around the hotel are beautiful. Food was excellent and no problems if you have special dietary requirements.
Our room suffered from noisy plumbing. It seems the water pipe work runs through the linen cupboard next to the room and was noisy late at night and early morning. We were also annoyed by the noise from the sluice in the kitchen which kept switching on and off late at night when they were cleaning down, sometimes until 12-30am. Don't let these minor issues put you off though, the hotel is still great, just check you don't get room 10 if this kind of thing bothers you.
Staff; very friendly Breakfast; excellent choices and hi quality Evening meal; good quality food Quirky decor and eclectic mix of art works.
Bar prices for the captive market; M&C, Veuve Cliq both pushing £70. Bottled Cornish Pilsner @ £4.50! (retail £1.5) Despite our indulgent patronage were charged on the final evening for the bar olives/cashews, £7 for a modest portion (inclusive for the Dinner, B&B package)
general attention to detail and excellent food
parking a little cramped
The staff provide an excellent service. The hotel is situated in the most idyllic position overlooking Talland Bay. This is a beautiful property and a very relaxing place to stay.
Having to leave!
We loved the friendliness, the views, the location, the artworks and the breakfasts!
