Phill and Alison Statham welcome you to their Bed & Breakfast set in the stunning surroundings of Snowdonia National Park. We have all seen those programmes, Escape to the Country, Four in a Bed and New Lives in the Wild etc., and after having watched many over several years and often saying ‘what if..’ and ‘why don’t we?’ we decided to stop dreaming and do something about it! So in September 2018 we packed our bags (and our two Labradors) and moved up to Talybont from Buckinghamshire. Phill was being pensioned out of the fire service and I hung up my corporate coat after having worked for a trade association for over 13 years, both of us very excited about this new chapter in our lives. We had a mixed response from friends and family from ‘you’re mad!’ to ‘I wish I had the courage to do something like that’. With our two Labradors, Moyo and Lottie by our side, we took full advantage of the stunning landscapes, mountains, rivers and beaches that Snowdonia has to offer plus (of course) exploring the best places to eat and drink! (Well we need to be able to tell our guests!) So are you ready to escape to the mountains and come and see what you might be missing?

Talybont Bed and Breakfast offers superior bed & breakfast accommodation and is just 4 miles North of Barmouth. ‘A hidden gem’ said one guest, ‘Not to be missed’ says another and ‘Don’t look anywhere else’ said a recent guest. Set within a large, picturesque garden, guests are welcome to enjoy the facilities it offers and perhaps find a quiet place to sit and listen to the river as it babbles thorough the garden, read a book nestled in the beautiful pod chair hidden by the river’s edge or enjoy a drink or two with friends in the African Breeze House. Warm blankets are supplied for those who wish to make the most of long summer evenings (and chillier evenings during the rest of the year!) Each room is tastefully decorated with full en-suite private facilities, including soft, fluffy towels and a large, powerful shower; one recent guest said it was ‘probably the best shower I have ever used in a b&b’! A generous selection of teas & coffee are available plus hot chocolate, biscuits, fresh milk and fresh water are provided. All bedrooms have a flat screen colour TV with Freeview and DVD player (DVD's not supplied), hair drier, boot warmer/drier, iron and ironing board. Fre...
