It was very convienient, most important of all it was clean & tidy and very friendly

My friend was not allowed to come up just to see my room .

Nice Quiet Comfortable Hotel

A cosy little room. Nicely furnished. The room was clean and warm.

It smelled of ciggarettes. Kettle leaked. Service was polite although it was difficult to ask some questions as they seemed in a rush and wanted to quickly say where everything is and get on with their job which made me feel dismissed.

Friendliness, service. Good secure car parking to the rear. Bus stop to city centre right outside with a frequent service.

Bit of a climb to the top level and make sure you take the right staircase or its all the way back down and back up again! Car parking not obvious if you just pull up outside - something you might be reluctant to do as its a bus lane. You need to go around the corner and up the lane to the back - then ring, or send a passenger around the front, to get the roller door opened.

Service and staff are excellent , it gives your stay a personal touch . Whenever I'm in Cardiff this is the first Hotel I try and get . Bus stop outside hotel, free parking and free WIFI are but a few things that make my stay enjoyable -

A tall old house, very clean and pleasant, new basins and shower, coffee and tea-making facilities, nothing shabby. the breakfast was excellent and the owners and staff friendly and hospitable. Very good value for money.

Although conveniently on a bus route, it was a long walk into the centre. There were a lot of stairs if you were on the top floor!

The personal touch. The propriertor called me to ask my arrival time. The little extras like the slippers and the plentiful amount of tean coffee in the room. The breakfast was very good. The cleanliness of the hotel. On the whole a great place to stay and I would recomend it and stay there again if I ever visit Cardiff again

A bit over priced for what it is. A bit further from the city centre than advertised slighlty more than half a mile.

Good secure parking,

4 ft small double bed. The website did not highlight the extra money required for 2 people. If you compare to most budget websites they let by the room. This hotel charges extra for 2 people in a double room and breakfast is extra. Ie not even bed and breakfast. The showering facilities are shared per floor not ensuite which at £52.90 per night is actually poor value. The search engine brings up the hotel at £38.00 per night per room which is probably what it is worth not £52.90... The booking terms leave a nasty taste... There were better hotels locally I went for the price. This is a commercial hotel specialising in short stays for workmen not families.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was clean, breakfast was excellent and the hotel was right next to a bus stop to the city centre for ease of travel.

Traffic outside a little noisy at night, but didn't cause any issues when sleeping.

Tanes Hotel was warm and welcoming a great place to stay close to city centre. We stayed during an International Rugby Match weekend and were pleased to find the room rates were not inflated as at many other hotels/guesthouses.

Very clean and presentable accomodation. You can pay more in Cardiff and get a lot less. Secure car park round the back. The rooms were decorated in a modern fashion with working TV with freeview. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating.

Shower wasn't great and the air vent on my window was broken. So being on a main road mean't sound could travel through the vent and would of been a major problem for light sleepers. However, the pros far outweighed the cons.
