homely, friendly, family run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble.
hard to find fault
Staff hospitality Location Breakast
nothing to report
Bathroom had no shelves or hooks to stand toiletries or clothes on and mothing in the shaower to place soap etc. Room was small. Proprieters use guest lounge like a family room.
Modern facilities in a country setting, and a real surprise once you navigate the country lane. Ideally suited as a base for exploring Rye Dale.
The owners were so helpful and friendly.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Beautiful setting. Peace and quiet.
the staff where very friendly
The oil they cooked breakfast in
The location although up a long and very narrow lane shared with farm vehicles and other residences was country and quiet but passing other oncoming traffic was a bit of a nightmare with very few passing places
The cost for two nights b/b was £220. We were expecting the accomodation to be a wee bit upmarket but regretably the decor and furnishings were very plain and reception, bar and sitting area were all one open room. As far as we could observe the nights we were there , the only other residents staying were tradesmen in several vans who wandered about the bar/lounge in their work clothes. They were also permitted to eat and drink at the bar on stools. In our view this circumstance was hardly tourist encouragement. We ate the first night in the Tantara dining room. A big mistake. The food was not good. We were the only diners in the dining room that night. I had hamburgers that were so dense tough and not cooked through in the middle, that I could not finish them. My wife's chicken was bland and the sauce with it porridge like. We complained to the manageress who returned to us the £33.20 overpriced meal cost.
This was a last minute booking for us and did not know what to expect. The hotel was in a fantastic setting with well kept gardens and beautiful scenery. We received a lovely friendly welcome and when we were shown to the room we were met with a complimentary bottle of wine and a bottle of mineral water. There were biscuits and hot chocolate as well as the usual tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent and the eating area was really nice and bright. We will definitely be back when visiting this area again.
The room we had was quite small as it had a sloping roof but was not uncomfortable.
The relaxed warmth and friendliness of the staff which translated into a truly memorable and peasant stay.
A lovely Hotel in a very quiet area overlooking fields and countryside. Food available and bar, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms nice and fresh and clean. Comfy beds. We will be visting again as ideal location for all surrounding areas.
Could of been abit cleaner in the reception area (Dog hairs all over the carpet which didn't look like it was hoovered regular). Dogs wandering around the hotel and sleeping on the seating for guests. Walls in the rooms not very thick so you can hear everything in the next room.
Very helpful, nothing was to much trouble
Lovely quiet location. Friendly staff, very clean. Becky even ran us to Little Barugh to pick our car up, nice to deal with like minded people. 10 out of 10
Very friendly and helpful staff/owners and the view from the hotel was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, good quality produce.
The only negative , was that we couldn't get wi-fi in our room and the were bedrooms were quite small.
The room was clean and had tea/coffee making facilities which a lot don't these days and small complimentary bottle of wine. Very friendly staff and all the food was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend.
Very welcoming staff. Comfortable bed. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast.
Absolutely nothing apart from the difficulty experienced in finding it for the first time.
Lovely rural setting. Very friendly staff.
Bathroom was a bit cramped.
The quietness and friendliness .
They had not had their delivery for the week so snacks were not available.
Food and friendliness of staff
The friendly staff welcomed us and our dog. We enjoyed the meals ,of local produce, in their large ,moderately priced restaurant. Very quiet at night -and with good walks from the hotel or on the nearby NY Moors .It is quite isolated , and would be good for a relaxing or convalescing holiday but not much for children to do . Will probably return.
No place is perfect, but the only drawback in our case with this Hotel is the mile drive down a single track road to get there from the A170. There are a few passing places, and the road finishes at a farm a little further along, so the only cars you are likely to meet are those of other guests !
Location and service
Very friendly and polite staff. Small bottle of wine in the room greeted us. Nice an quiet and clean. Very narrow road to drive down to get the the hotel. Made me wonder if the sat nav was right! Of all the places we stayed whilst in Yorkshire, this was the best for us.
Fantastic, tranquil peaceful location. Friendly and attentive staff Delicious home cooked food which is very good value for money. Would recommend and return if in the area again.
Staff were great great, typical hard working Yorkshire family who provided excellent accommodation and food to boot,. Location was perfect with great views. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will go back with family.
