The bathroom was not en-suite.
Good basic accommodation. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Fantastic staff - really friendly. Couldn't do enough to help and the breakfast was excusite!
Breakfast and staff were nice
Old tv broken in room. Curtains very light and lots of noise from traffic. Place could do with a makeover
The location was central the Hotel was lovely and we enjoyed our night there. Breakfast delicious.
The car parking was bad, had to park too far away from Hotel in a general car park.
lovely staff and excellent breakfast
Staff really friendly. Had to leave really early in the morning so would miss breakfast but they gave me bowl of fruit in my room, which was a nice touch.
Shared bathroom, however it never really caused any problems.
Location right in town. Tap and Spile B&B is lovely, very well maintained with lots of ambience. My room was very clean and comfortable, and the pub downstairs was a delight. I was lucky enough to stay there on a night when they had a great live band playing. If I am fortunate enough to vacation in England again, I will definitely stay there again, but this time for more than one night!
Pleasant friendly staff Good cooked breakfast
No en suite facilities at all - not even a basin. Breakfast did not include offer of cereals
Friendly helpful staff Generous sized bedroom
No ensuite :( No meals in the pub as it going through a change of owner Room too hot (in summer) with no fan available Car was vandalised in the 24hr car park that is too far from the pub for comfort
the location was perfect to look around the shops
convenience of the location very central. staff very friendly and accommodating. good breakfast
for the price one could find more asthetic accommodation. very noiseyas situated on the high street, shared bathroom, old fashioned decore and dated wornout look carpets and furniture. back access unattractive.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was excellent. No en suite loo etc would have been an issue if there had been other guests.
Ideal location, good breakfast and staff helpful and friendly
Friendly welcome, great location, excellent breakfasts :)
Nice big bed, big bathroom, although not en suite. Well made, well served breakfast.
My boyfriend myself and our small border terrier stayed in the double room for two nights to have a look around hexham and go to the races. I was abit apprehensive about staying above a pub but was pleasantly suprised. the room was clean and basic but all u could need, tv, comfy bed, clean linen and towels, kettle etc. location was excellent very central! the staff were very pleasant particularly a young barmaid and another lady who cooked the breakfast and cleaned the rooms was also very kind. breakfast was delicious! dog was welcomed and no problems! would recommend and stay again!
I didnt mind the shared bathroom as there is only 3 rooms?maybe 2 not sure but my boyfriend and i both cut our thumbs on the dodgy lock! rooms could of done with maybe a quick polish lamps etc but nothing major! if your a light sleeper bear in mind this is on the main road so lots of traffic noise and the occasional drunk singing on his way home!
Geoff and the staff were very inviting. We chatted in the lounge are in the hotel. The room was very good, clean and bed was excellent
No parking off the street and had to leave car on busy road
Breakfast was amazing, huge portions and very friendly staff. Location right in the middle of Hexham and carpark just down the road. Shared bathroom with toilet and also a seperate toilet. We were the only ones staying in the hotel so not a problem. We couldn't hear the noise from the bar in out room at all. We will be visiting again in the future.
When the nightclub came out at 3am it was very noisy in the street. So I would suggest asking to stay in the room not facing the front street.
It's a very fine and well-run pub.
The staff were friendly
Shared toilet & bathroom facilities cleanliness was not very good in room sheets & pillowcases were clean but mattress & pillows werenot
