feels very much like a wedding 'venue' type place, nothing wrong with that, they run a tight ship. luxurious room and lovely bath and bathroom.

horrible to be woken at 8am with a large refuse collection truck parked literally below our window, slamming its mechanism back and forth and tumbling noisy glass etc for what seemed like ages. a real rude awakening. would have thought the entire front side of hotel was given the same unpleasant alarm call. not the best way to wake in a nice hotel, would have thought they would arrange a later pick up to avoid disturbing the guests :(

I used this hotel purely because of a low rate deal (would never afford std rates) it was brilliant, staff were great, room outstanding and whole experience was very positive

    Nothing to fault

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

There was a function going on that we didn't know about so it was very noisy.

This country house set in beautiful surroundings provided an opulent and luxuriously romantic stay for us. The room was lovely, staff friendly and the hotel itself is like a work of art with beautiful decor and furnishings complimenting it's Georgian orgins perfectly. Our meal in the restaurant was the highlight, with some delicious but very reasonably priced choices available on the 3 course menu. Would definitely come again to stay or even just for dinner.

The only criticism we could make is that the bed was a little hard but other than that- no dislikes.

Beautiful gardens, staff excellent - very helpful, room very good.

Breakfast not worth £18.50 EACH per day. Everything very expensive - be warned. Atmosphere a little clinical - prhaps best for conference/ business than holiday base.

The staff were brilliant especially reception and restaurant staff. The environment is good and very quiet.

The deluxe room was too small for £150 a night with no breakfast.

Location was close enough to Heathrow and to The Fat Duck restaurant which was the purpose of our visit. Lovely grounds, freindly staff and plenty of parking too.

We came down to the lounge for afternoon drinks and found it difficult to locate a waiter. We assume they are all through serving afternoon tea.

There is no lift. It is a bit too harsh when travelling with heavy luggage.

    Liked location

Quality of room Plug socket not working and loose. Cracked basin. Cleanliness of bathroom. Premier Inn provide much better value for a one night stay.

    Room clean, spacious and comfortable.

On arrival there were three staff at the reception desk, all of whome watched us struggle to carry our bags and coats etc upstairs to our room without even the faintest murmour of an offer of assistance. Not a warm welcome but definately a memorable one.

This hotel surpassed all of my expectations with its beautiful building, grounds and rooms. The breakfast was one of the best I've experienced, there was a cold buffet and service for the hot options, my pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were amazing, and there is a lovely view to go with it. The staff were brilliant, the perfect balance of professional yet friendly and unlike many hotels the bar is 24 hours which means you can top your evening off with a cosy nightcap by the fire.

I loved everything, but if I had to be picky it would be that there aren't any lifts, so the trip up to our room was a bit of an effort as we were on the 3rd floor - however we were offered help with our bags which we refused so can't really complain.

The Grounds were stunning. Hotel inside was very Grand. Co operative staff.

Booked a deluxe room, but was not very deluxe at all. Requested to be moved due to the cleanliness of the room, which included a bogey wiped on the wall. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and only had 3 tv channels.
