I cannot thank the staff enough, they were so helpful, one of the most outstanding so far. the room was ok, it was clean and everything worked. i would highly reccomend this hotel but do check first to see if they have a wedding or function on as it was very noisy. Noisy because of wedding

think we were upgraded - room was a great size, well decorated and unlike virtually every other hotel I stay with to work, had great lighting so you could actually see! Breakfast excellent and afternoon tea on the terrace great. The new bar in the cellar felt a bit cold and lonely but as its popularity builds Im sure it will work - would have been good to use some of that vast space for a fitness room though

I liked the old fashioned service, uniforms of the staff and the very 'Englishness' of the hotel Some of the fixtures (although of very high quality) are showing signs of wear. Would have liked a full length mirror in my room

The grounds of this hotel are very relaxing and have quite good historical connections - a tree that is reputed to have been planted by Queen Elizabeth I for instance. There was no elevator access to the major rooms, which was a surprise for a 4 star hotel, but the staff were very helpful with wheelchair access to the main entrance.

Good breakfast and plenty of food to eat. The staff had taxis ready when we needed them. The staff was ver acommodating in providing food, even during off hours. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well appointed. Poor proximity to anything, particularly rail lines.
