Friendly, helpful staff.
No restaurant facilities for evening meal, although we could have had chicken in a basket.
Pleasant old house.... but fails to meet it's potential.
The house is surrounded by a caravan park, which destroys the first impression. The evening meal menu offered less than basic bar food and my wife couldn't eat the fish. It took over 40 minutes to serve us. The bar was supposed to close at 11:00pm but there was a lot of noise from non-residents leaving by car at 12:30am. At over £100 per night this is vastly over priced. Thanks for a very disappointing birthday celebration.
Setting was good and views
Very outdated and old fashioned
Liked the views and room designs really nice grand building
Didn't state it was only continental breakfast, wasn't aware
Location, about 1.5 miles from centre of town. Room-comfort. Value for money. Continental breakfast-though the cheese could be better.
View of caravans from room window, slow internet. Staff wearing company large lettered tee shirts in public area.
Things were fixed when we asked. The Woolly Sheep Inn in Skipton was good for meals
Birds nesting in the front door and having to dodge bird droppings every time we came in or went out.
Bar patrons monopolising residents lounge and TV!
The location is close to Skipton but very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were lovely and clean and comfortable. I'm so disappointed we won't be able to stay there again after being told the hotel is closing down in January. Please reconsider!
Sixties singer right below my room, unable to sleep Breakfast very poor, plastic cheese and a few cold boiled eggs
all of it!
Although room was a bit dark!
Location and service. very good.Cleanliness of bedroom and on-suite of a high standard. Good value for money.
The singer on a Saturday night started at 9.30 and could be heard throughout the hotel until midnight. So if you children not very good.
Staff were helpful. As they did not have our booking, they gave us a free meal with wine.
Surrounded by a caravan park of which no mention was made on the website or by booking.com When we got there they did not have our reservation so we had to stay in a mobile home for the first night. No mention made of 1.75% surcharge for paying by card until we were presented with the bill.
Room very good size. Facilities good with bar and nice lounge area
Bit noisy trying to get sleep even beyond midnight. Only continental breakfast. Witnessed an awkward conversation between two staff that was quite unprofessional.
wonderfull building with friendly staff we were welcomed as long lost friends by the permanent residents of the caravan park wich made us feel at home away from home
nothing , or perhaps the fact that booking .com does not allow to mention the caravan park
* Good continental Breakfast * Welcome and hospitality
The 4 poster bed was a little short and could do with a more supportive mattress.
rather expensive accomodation
Helpful and friendly staff Cleanliness Location
Room above the bar Caravan park not mentioned in description
Expensive for what you get. Cheap furniture. Poor uncomfortable bed. Cheap shower that goes hot then cold. Cheap poor standard for breakfast. Cheap. Cheap. Would not return
The mattress was dreadful. Very lumpy! No food available other than very basic breakfast.
The continental breakfast was varied and good quality. The bed was comfortable and the bar prices were very reasonable. There was plenty of tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom and bottled water.
The accommodation was expensive for what it offered. The view from our bedroom was over a very large caravan park which was certainly not evident from the website picture. The bathroom was small and had no bath, only a shower. The room was also subject to quite a lot of noise. I did not think that for £100 a night it was good value for money.
We enjoy our stay ,lovely location, Comfortable, good night sleep, staff welcome , helpful and excellent as well ,breakfast was fabulous , We'll be booking again Julie and Ian
Bathroom was beautiful
The bed needed replacing, both of us had trouble sleeping and had back aches. Also the breakfast was rather bland
Good service, beautiful room and excellent food. Quiet and relaxing for all ages.
Very nice clean, well-sized and well-furnished room, with large windows giving a good view of the garden and countryside. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere to the place. Plentiful continental breakfast. Good selection of real ales in bar.
There were quite a few caravans and tourers in parts of the grounds, which we hadn't expected. But these weren't overwhelming and presumably essential anyway to the financial working of the place. At the time we were there, there were no evening meals, although Skipton is a very short drive (and also within walking distance, even if perhaps not the best road to walk along in the dark).
