Location spot on . Food excellent. Friendly staff
Beds a bit to hard for me
The bedrooms were very clean.
Décor at the reception was rather dated.
The food the service the staff nothing was any trouble you will see us again
Small room but clean, firm and comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities, Staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel Tired, could do with a paint
Everything was clean, the food was great. Service was good also. Had a fantastic time
The hard mattress. Although I had good enough sleep I woke up with a bad back
Access to my room was so easy and the en suite shower was ideal. This was my second visit and I would certainly book this hotel if I choose to visit the island again in the furure. The bus stop was very close, as were the stops for other routes, just a very short walk away.
It would be difficult to find anything not to like.
Sea front hotel with welcoming staff. Nice sea view room. Clean bathroom and beds.
Expensive rent, old dirty room carpet, rusty old electric kettle, and check-out time was too early (by 10:30 am!) as compared to the check-in time (2 pm).
Location was good, right on the seafront. Staff were helpful. At the price we paid it was reasonable value for money. Tea and coffee making facilities were on a table within easy reach of a plug!
Basin in shower room was cracked. Tap loose and loo loose. A half hour slot to feed everyone at breakfast was a bit challenging for the staff and meant that the pot of tea and the toast were delivered before guests arrived at the tables. Difficult to fill kettle from tap unless using a mug! A smaller kettle would have made it easier.
attiude of staff and locllation was very good
hotel needs interior work done beds very hard needs moving and cleaned under
Food was of poor quality and standard, some staff not able to understand english
The service was excellent. Few of the staffs were very helpful and kind. Rooms were neat and clean
Breakfast service was not up to the mark
Cleanliness of bedding and towells great. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Room fine with a new bathroom.
Exterior of hotel was very run down and needed repair and painting. Communal areas need updating and some TLC
The bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab. The front of the hotel was in the midst of being renovated and looked like a building site.
quite dated decor
the breakfast service was very good
room very basic
Splendid sea views. Manager dealt with problems efficiently and politely. Breakfast, although somewhat limited, was very good value.
An uncomfortably hard bed - however, after changing rooms, the bed was very comfortable (different beds suit different people). Only six parking spaces on the premises - however, free parking on the seafront within walking distance is possible. Only one member of staff knew how to serve breakfast; the others just caused chaos. The restaurant currently offers only a limited menu at a set time, due to building works currently underway.
The location is perfect - right on the beach and near the high street. We saw many bad reviews about the breakfast but to be honest it was lovely! For the price too it couldn't be beaten! The hotel is in desperate need of some TLC but when I booked I'll be honest I didn't really mind.
Sadly there was so much condensation inside the windows that we couldn't see what would have been a wonderful sea view. There is only a half hour window to have breakfast - 8.30 - 9.00am There is no air conditioning, the price truly reflects this, however, I wish I had thought twice on this aspect as it was such a hot week. It must be the only hotel that I've ever walked into that's hotter than the 28 degrees outside. The warm air just hit us all as we walked in. The rooms were cleaned daily but the floors and rug never swept or hoovered. As you can imagine with 2 small children there was sand everywhere. I tried to scoop it up into a small pile clear to see for the cleaner but each day it just got bigger. The parking is practically non-existentant. There are about 4/5 spaces at the back of the hotel. These are full 99% of the time. Sadly we had to pay for parking £6.60 per day. I read some bad reviews about the beds being rock hard and wasn't put off as I thought the bed me and my husband had at home was rather terrible. How wrong was I? VERY! If the floor wasn't so sandy we would have been more comfortable there. I honestly left with a terrible back. Now I feel I have moaned on about the negatives I'll be totally honest once more. Me and my husband agreed that we would love to go back to Sandown, but next time we will stay elsewhere. After you add up the car parking fee, what you would pay for the comfort, the air con, the cleanliness etc. we could and would afford a much better hotel a few doors down the beach. Don't be tempted because of the price, it really is what it is for a reason.
They were kind, friendly and helpful and hotel was conveniently located.
The staff were nice.....
The hotel could be nicer....
Staff friendly and polite, clean linen and plenty of hot water. Nice sea view from room.
Outside presentation poor, drab dark interior, carpet outside room and walls in room dirty. Hard creaky beds. Pipe work to toilet rusty, sink plug not working. Breakfast area ceiling falling down, breakfast area grubby with dead plants. Building site ouside breakfast area. Poor parking. Hotel requires a proper refurbishment.
Breakfast, though cheap, was tasteless and greasy. Priced like a decent hotel, which it definitely was not. Most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in.
really uncomfortable single beds. décor and furniture very tired.
rooms are a very good size and the staff are good smiling and cheerful.
The front of the hotel is in need of a tidy up,and the beer needs to be sorted out,but thats it.
