stayed in a family room with a fantastic sea view - staff were lovely & very friendly - hotel had character
had a lovely stay - felt maybe it could have done with just a few finishing touches - i.e just smartening up a little, maybe needing a womans touch!
The staff were friendly
The bed was too hard
Checked in very late (after 12am) without a problem.
hard beds,noise from side road
No parking facilities
Location spot on . Food excellent. Friendly staff
Beds a bit to hard for me
The bedrooms were very clean.
Décor at the reception was rather dated.
The food the service the staff nothing was any trouble you will see us again
Small room but clean, firm and comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities, Staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel Tired, could do with a paint
Everything was clean, the food was great. Service was good also. Had a fantastic time
The hard mattress. Although I had good enough sleep I woke up with a bad back
Access to my room was so easy and the en suite shower was ideal. This was my second visit and I would certainly book this hotel if I choose to visit the island again in the furure. The bus stop was very close, as were the stops for other routes, just a very short walk away.
It would be difficult to find anything not to like.
Sea front hotel with welcoming staff. Nice sea view room. Clean bathroom and beds.
Expensive rent, old dirty room carpet, rusty old electric kettle, and check-out time was too early (by 10:30 am!) as compared to the check-in time (2 pm).
Location was good, right on the seafront. Staff were helpful. At the price we paid it was reasonable value for money. Tea and coffee making facilities were on a table within easy reach of a plug!
Basin in shower room was cracked. Tap loose and loo loose. A half hour slot to feed everyone at breakfast was a bit challenging for the staff and meant that the pot of tea and the toast were delivered before guests arrived at the tables. Difficult to fill kettle from tap unless using a mug! A smaller kettle would have made it easier.
Location was excellent. Manager/Owner was really kind and safely kept our luggage after checkout so that we can roam the island and come back and collect. We stayed for 2 nights but won't hesitate for a longer stay. The breakfast girls were really polite and served really well cooked food. Overall very nice. And yes contrary to some reviews - the beds are erally good - they aren't the "Springy" ones which will give you backache and would like this over those!
attiude of staff and locllation was very good
hotel needs interior work done beds very hard needs moving and cleaned under
Food was of poor quality and standard, some staff not able to understand english
The service was excellent. Few of the staffs were very helpful and kind. Rooms were neat and clean
Breakfast service was not up to the mark
Cleanliness of bedding and towells great. Staff very helpfull and friendly. Room fine with a new bathroom.
Exterior of hotel was very run down and needed repair and painting. Communal areas need updating and some TLC
Checking out after 3 nights with lack of sleep.
The Tarviq2 Hotel makes you pay up front when checking in as they know you wouldn't want to stay more than 1 night. The room size was ok and overlooked the beach although we were on the 1st floor in a family room directly above the nightly "entertainment" This so called entertainment was mediocre pub singers belting out poor renditions along to cheesy backing tracks. This continued to past 11pm on all the nights that we stayed. The Mattresses were the hardest that I have ever slept on and although we complained about both the Music and beds, the best they could do was to place another duvet over the mattress. The Bar was poorly stocked on the 1 time we attempted to get a drink and only 1 beer out of 4 was on tap. We were only getting a drink to kill time in the garden as we couldn't return to the room as the Music was so loud. We paid £95 a night for just the room and don't believe it was worth £9.50. Please don't stay here and let this accommodation ruin your holiday!
The bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab. The front of the hotel was in the midst of being renovated and looked like a building site.
quite dated decor
the breakfast service was very good
room very basic
Splendid sea views. Manager dealt with problems efficiently and politely. Breakfast, although somewhat limited, was very good value.
An uncomfortably hard bed - however, after changing rooms, the bed was very comfortable (different beds suit different people). Only six parking spaces on the premises - however, free parking on the seafront within walking distance is possible. Only one member of staff knew how to serve breakfast; the others just caused chaos. The restaurant currently offers only a limited menu at a set time, due to building works currently underway.
