Very nice Hotel, good facilities, fantastic breakfast!! Very helpful staff, rooms are clean with plenty of tea and coffee, tv, bathrooms and en suites all very clean. Good location just a few mins walk to town yet very quiet. Mainline stn just 2 mins walk (downhill!). Stayed here due to work commitments, would recommend for leisure or business stays alike.
-Comfortable like home, free and easy -Good Hill View over downstream
-Not that i think of
The friendliness of the staff, warm greeting and exc. breakfast. Very good value for money. Room modern and immaculate. tea etc in room perhaps the best I have seen
parking can be tricky (understatement and guests should be advised in advance that pets cannot be left unattended in rooms
The room was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The staff were great, and as we were a bit rushed for a full breakfast the next morning, they offered bacon rolls to take with us.
A bit of road noise.
Convenient for City with parking - good wi-fi
Excellent breakfast - particularly the bacon - served by friendly staff in a lovely room. Good central location, very close to the University & town centre. Wifi very easy to access. Cafetiere coffee provided in the room, which is quite rare.
In quite a noisy location - but we were there on a Friday night - just people talking as they went past & nothing the hotel has any control over.
Convenience and catering. A helpful and comfortable guest house.
Beautifully furnished breakfast and morning room. Good breakfast locally sourced. Great self contained family room.
Helpful, friendly staff
Breakfast was good. Short walk to the city centre
Parking was cramped and limited. The room to the front of the hotel was noisy from the main road to the front. The walls were thin and so one could hear your fellow travellers snoring.
Location for train station, city centre and university. Environmentally friendly. Good food. Helpful, friendly staff.
Cramped bathroom. A mini fridge would be useful.
Décor Location great for Uni, City Centre and Railway station Rooms comfortable and well equipped Friendly and v helpful staff Excellent breakfast
Room at front a bit noisy because it overlooks busy road.
Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast
All was good.
The Internet signal could have been better at times, but otherwise it was all good
Good wifi, great breakfast and very friendly staff, rooms very clean. If you're looking for a friendly venue and a value room for the night, worth a visit
woken at 5am by the cook and the landlady chatting, not quietly and not very considerate to guests. Subjected to an hour of this before the breakfast rush started. if you can help it avoid room 1 which is directly behind the dining room, the wall is not even slightly soundproof!
Location excellent for university and city centre. Very handy being able to leave the car at hotel and walk to our destinations.
The bathroom, food, friendly staff, information given, relaxed atmosphere, dining room, price
Rooms looked like they could do with a bit of a refurbishment, ledges were dusty
Good breakfast, good value for money
Room was very small for 3 people and shower didn't work.
Attention to detail: for example, the great selection of tea & coffee making facilities included jar a ground coffee and a cafetiere - not just your usual packets of instant coffee.
Very personal and friendly reception. Ben took his time showing me what sights to see, which restaurants to visit; and replied to every single question even though I was very early checking in. I'd phoned at 8am to advise them of ETA and they'd done our rooms first; so thoughtful!
Shower didn't get hot -- just a minor issue, I'm happy to stay in the same room again.
Convenient for station and city centre Fresh milk on request (and ice), water in room Good choice at breakfast Large room Helpful staff Luggage storage
Noise from traffic as we were in a room at the front and it is a busy road Bath towels were small
We were fortunate to stay in the lovely back garden room at the Telstar. It was quiet and private and beyond the parking and low brick wall had a great view. I'm sure if we'd stayed longer the bench would have been a perfect spot for a cup of tea or glass of wine. Breakfast was well done, the staff helpful and the décor charming.
Can't think of anything.
Staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent with good quality products and plentiful.
Room was a bit congested, too much furniture within confined space
We had a quiet room in the back with a view to the green hills in the distance. The guesthouse is on a busy street so this was a positive. The room was quite small but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and attractive. Breakfast was good with several choices. Just a 10 minute walk to the train station or to the city center in the other direction.
friendly and convenient
