The appearance of the hotel.

Nothing worked. The toilet didn't work, the shower didn't work, the bed had springs popping through the mattress.

Good location. Ten minutes walk to Princes St. Very quiet.

Spacious and very well furnished rooms

Could feel mattress springs. Security green light on the ceilings always on and right into my eyes not advisable if you have light sleep.

Convenience of location and convernient (but very expensive) parking.

Felt breakfast was very expensive for the quality. Toaster very slow due to half-power elements!

Breakfast overcooked and service slow. Meager selection of drinks on coffee/tea tray in room.

Location very convenient, which is why we chose this hotel. One member of staff very sympathetic & helpful.

Room we were first allocated was unbearable due to machine noise - water pump apparently - booming out from basement directly below our window. When this became unbearable, night porter allocated us a small room 2 floors directly above, which we moved ourselves into. Reception moved us - again -next morning to a quiet & very comfortable room but 1st night was wrecked & effort of moving twice a complete pain.

Good location for city centre yet quite.Staff were polite & helpful.Food was nice for both breakfast & dinner.

Pricey to park car in hotel car park. £15 per night.

Got upgraded to a suite, great room.

The bathroom door won't keep open.

I was told the breakfast was £8 but was billed £9,75- a minor annoyment when I noticed it afterwards. Would have liked to be able to regulate the heat at night. I prefer a cooler temperature and fresh air.

I was impressed by the attentive service given by staff.

1. Shower did not work and had to move rooms having got ready for morning shower 2. No hairdryer in the room and when I asked for one I was given one with a broken plug. 3. unpleasant stains behind door.

Location was perfect, close to Royal Mile and Princes Street, close to everything really. Accommodation was very reasonably priced and perfect for a budget stay. Staff were most helpful with any queries.Lovely big bathroom in Classic Double.

Room service paninis were very cold on delivery :-( Found the room slightly small/cramped. Bar was small and only a wine bar so didn't really use it. Smaller hotel in general. Would not rate it as a four star though but perfect for a budget stay.

the location

The ability to check in a few hours before standard 3pm check-in time as we arrived a little early, the room size was perfect, cleanliness was great, the beds were extremely comfortable, the décor, the free wifi, the location, the staff always smiled at us and were very polite, the complimentary amenities, we were able to hold our luggage in a secure room all day after check-out time until we were ready to go home.

Only really small issues - The windows and doors let sound in however this was not a major problem for us at all and we were charged for breakfast even though we hadn't eat there however the receptionist cancelled it straight away.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Room was lovely as was the hotel itself, much nicer than I had expected. Buffet breakfast was also very good with a wide variety and kitchen staff made sure that hot counter was kept topped up with food.

Shower wasnt the easiest to use and our room had slightly older large windows which were a bit drafty, although after the heating in the room was left on for a while it soon disapeared.

Staff were content on making your stay comfortable and went that extra mile when needed. 5* service all round. Asked for a high room with a view, got to choose on arrival. I payed well under the walk in price, fully recommend this site also :)

Only thing was there wasn't a lot of pressure on the shower but hey that's being picky...:)
