Good breakfast- good price. Only there for one night - coming in late and leaving early so just needed something adequate which this was.
Overhead shower had to be held by hand
the rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good parking and within walking distance for the shopping centre. Nice breakfast.
When we booked we expected hotel facilities, but when we arrived we were informed that it was now a bed and breakfast, therefor we had to go out every night for our meal and there were no bar facility. It should not be advertised as a hotel
Great location and lovely staff. Beautiful building.
Shower wasn't working and we couldn't get hot water for awhile.
Location ideal for centre of town . Room good .
No bar or facilities to buy even a soft drink .
It's a great location with basic facilities but has everything you should need at a good price
Difficulty in regulating temperature of room and of the shower. Had to make own drink and toast for breakfast - stayed earlier in year and seemed to have more service.
well spaced and usual facilities - hair dryer, iron, tea and coffee. Breakfast basic but good
heating was either on full or off, shower very temperamental, had to switch heating off to get hot water.
Brilliant hotel just tucked out of the way, staff were all friendly and room was clean if a bit basic but very good value for money, will definitely use again
Nothing, perfect hotel for an overnight stay
no key for main door as had to leave early in morn left something behind and could not get back in to get it also no hot water in the morning witch was not nice
Was close to the town center & bus, staff were friendly enough but looked bored silly to be honest, seemed to have nothing to do, Bathroom was clean(except 4 the full BIN ), the bed was comfy enough if the linen hadn't let it down it was quiet
Bathroom bin full on arrival, yuk! not emptied once during stay, towels not replaced, loo roll ran out, no clean cups given, No glass s in bathroom, hairs on bed linen, cob webs hanging from ceiling, back of locker n wallpaper thick with dust n cobwebs,NO housekeeping except when asked for new supplys, 2 pillows that were awful, no spares, no breakfast menu, asked "what ud like from the kitchen"? Seen a table set up for the next setting with the previous guests juice glasses still on, stairs with luggage! wasn't informed after booking no food available as page showed dining room & advertised food, the shower was ok, freezing & boiling in space of a minute, no control. No staff uniform,
my blanket and bed cloth was not clean
We liked the friendly, accommodating staff, early check in, comfy bed, recently modernised bathroom, excellent location - it was very close to the wedding we were attending AND had parking (in that area it was mostly metered parking). The room was a little small and dated but it is a period building so small dimensions should be expected and it was value for money so I didn't mind.
It's under new management and they seem to be slightly under staffed - however the staff couldn't be more helpful. There was no potato scone with breakfast - an essential fry up item in Scotland!
The place needs a lot of redecorating .
Location, friendless of staff , breakfast good variety, good service will without question stay again in the near future
Value hotel in central town location with every thing needed for couple of nights stay
uncomfortable small single bed that squeaked with every turn
Excellent location just yards from town centre, clean, good breakfast.
Tired looking, no lounge or bar area.
I booked 2 rooms, double suite (very roomy) and single room, which was nothing more than a broom cupboard. When heating wasn't working staff were very obliging, moving me to a double room on lower ground floor. Bed was comfortable and good shower! Dinner in bistro was good, prices reasonable and the included breakfast was nice. Town centre only a couple of minutes walk.
Difficult access to hotel, GPS struggled, tight navigation to park. Single room on top floor nothing more than a broom cupboard and heater was broken so it was a very chilly little cupboard. Staff happily moved me when unable to fix heating, so that was a plus.
Good location. Friendly staff. Car parking was available.
It was freezing when we arrived. Asked at reception and was told there had been a problem with the boiler. Heating promptly came on but was left on all night at full blast resulting in it being uncomfortably hot. Same thing happened next day and there was no hot water until we queried it. At least heating was turned off that night.
No facilities to speak of. Not even a lounge to relax in.
I have slept on worse beds.
Almost everything - grungy paintwork, no towels, extremely dated, tiny room with a tiny bed - an awful experience.
Staff were friendly
The dining room is no longer open for dinner so we had to go out every night. This is the way it's going to stay so be warned you will not get hotel facilities here only B&B
dirty and broken kettle in the room breakfast started too late
Warm welcome and genuine interest and help from the two young ladies who were on duty.
Room could have been better but we have found that travelling with (a very well behaved) dog we do tend to have possibly not the best accomodation and I suppose, who could blame them, not all pets or owners can be trusted.
That I could get a single room at a good price rather than the usual double room at a slightly reduced rate. No penalties for being on my own.
I liked the location as it was very handy for the shops & train station
I did not like the bar closing so early as i had visitors who wanted to have a drink and it was only 10 o'clock
