Terraces Hotel  

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms very clean and neat.

Only problem was lack of refreshment in the room but this was soon rectified.

Proximity to City Centre and could park at the front of the hotel.

Room was okay for one night, but bathroom was dirty around the edges. Had to go to Reception at 2 a.m. as we could not get to sleep with the constant loud noise of a pump above our room. They said that they had had problems with this before so why give this room to anyone. At 3 a.m. they gave us another room to get some sleep. Nicer room, so why were we not allocated this when it was available, especially as they knew there had been problems with the other room in the first place. Don't take Room 17. The breakfast was very poor. Rice Crispies, corn flakes and muesli, some tinned fruit and prunes on offer. Ran out of mushrooms, eggs were like rubber, bacon was too hard to cut through. Cold on arrival. Toast was paper thin and there was no marmalade. Would not recommend this hotel.

Nice room, comfortable, very well equipped, good location. This hotel was excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The tea set-up at breakfast doesn't work. More people drink tea than any other drink and the jug doesn't hold enough tea to go round. A supply of ordinary teabags and hot water might help but I could only find herbal teabags.

Staff were very pleasant

Room had dirty sheets on arrival. Did not reflect website, tiny room and bed. Breakfast stale, could not even get fresh tea/coffee.

The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very welcoming.The position of the hetel was great for the city center and all the sites .

There was little or no atmosfere in the bar ,and the floors outside the bedrooms were very noisy.

The bar area lacked atmosphere no music and tv on but no volume also very cold. The bedrooms were small, depressing and need a good overhaul. The new flat screen TVs dominated the rooms. Don’t understand why hotel management have spent money on new TVs but left rooms in state they were in!. Worst of all was the service at breakfast. One poor lady serving all the breakfasts, topping up teas/coffees etc. and was also responsible for checking out the guests!! Obviously this meant long delays on being served and lots of mix ups with breakfast orders. Then she was off to clean all 18 bedrooms! Absolutely appalling that the hotel management felt that this was acceptable. Happy to take your money but not willing to spend some on ensuring guests get the service they deserve. If you fancy a stay at Fawlty Towers then I recommend you book a trip!

Price /quality could not be better!The hotel was well located, friendly personnel, good breakfast, nice view from our room all decorated with tartan curtains and carpet. Cozy atmosphere!

The only complaint is the difficulty we had to mix shower hot and cold water. We were told there was something being fixed in the room we were.

Convenient location for the city centre and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quirky (which I liked) and comfortable. The bed was good and I slept well.

It was unexpectedly difficult to find in the dark, even with a map. I drove right past it twice without seeing it. The road names are not well marked; nor is the hotel itself. The hot water tap in the room had to be run for several minutes before the water ran hot - irritating and wasteful. The electric shower was underpowered and rather feeble. Breakfasts were disappointing. On the first morning I ordered scrambled egg on toast; it took 20 minutes to arrive and they left out the toast. On the second day I included mushrooms in my order and got a ridiculously small portion - half of a small one sliced up.

A little expensive in comparison to other city break hotels we have stayed in , however Stirling does seem to be more expensive for accommodation than other cities.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location convenient to eating places. We just stayed 1 night. Also enjoyed historical pictures in the hotel.

Good city centre location

During 3 night stay the room was never serviced. The excuse given was that the staff didn't have a spare room key????

The friendly staff, good food and being able to walk to mot of the attractions. We were on our honeymoon so felt that thr privacy to come and go was excellent and unobtrusive.

Would have liked a bigger wardrobe and drawers in room (1), no where tohang weet coats etc. Menu in the grill was a little linited, no steaks one night the golf party had had the last. Americans had taken all the crossiants the following morning, but didn't eat them, so went to waste.

Good location near City centre.

We were allocated room 11, as a double. Whilst the room did have a double bed, it was in all other aspects, a single. Only one chair, small wardrobe and only one bedside cabinet. A very small room which could do with a make-over and should only be 'sold' as a single room!

This is a good location to get by walking distance to the city; Comfy room and bathroom; Good breakfast.

This hotel need to clean up and need a paint job.

Good location with parking facilities. Excellently placed for the city facilities; shops, restaurants, bars, banks and heritage only two/four minutes walk away. Public transport, bus depot and train station, five/ten minutes walk respectively. The room was clean and comfortable, wc/shower room more than adequate, good shower, plenty of hot water, a little chafing of the paint due condensation immediately above the shower on the ceiling. However the ventilation in the room was more than reasonable. On the whole a good little hotel

Staff could have been a little more welcoming and approachable. We stayed on a B&B basis and although the breakfast plate was big, it's contents was lacking somewhat, with a quarter piece of a large mushroom that looked uncooked. However leaving the mushroom aside I suppose it was adequate?

The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. They even offered to bring me tea while I was working in the guest lounge. The room was small but adequate. The location is perfect for someone staying in Stirling without a car. It is at the edge of the Thistles shopping center which has everything one will need. It is easy walking distance to the train station and bus routes, and to the Castle and all the historical sites (except the Wallace Monument). The breakfast was very well done.

I caught a cold and had no tissues in my room--found out later they do have them but you have to ask for them. Also there was no luggage rack, but there was room for one. This is hard on the back. These seem like little frugalities that take away from a sense of hospitality. Also, the hangers in the closets are such that it is impossible to use them to drip dry clothing in the tub. I had to go buy hangers. And I still do not understand why Scottish hotels who cater to all types have no washcloths!

It was a good location. The breakfast was good and the people were very friendly. The room was comfortable and most of all QUIET.

It was difficult to find at first. Fortunately, some locals saw us struggling and walked us to the street in order to access the hotel. After that, it was no problem to find.
