Room and ensuite excellent. Staff very helpful. Bar supper excellent. Grounds looked a bit neglected. Breakfast was very disappointing. Was down at 8.30 but fruit finished. Plates for cooked breakfast cold. No marmalade on table, had to find a spoon to get some out of a 1lb jar. For that price I like a breakfast to die for!

Proximity to Aberdeen airport, ease of access from a96, grounds and exterior appearance, clean and well maintained facility. Unhelpful desk staff, lack of reliable internet anywhere in hotel, bizarre wiring for light fixtures in bedroom, peculiar floor plan at lobby level.

Very friendly staff My husband and I stayed at this hotel as an overnight stay and were extremely dissapointed, we were expecting a bit more from such a grand building, though we appreciate that a building of this size takes some looking after it would certainly benefit from a refurbishment. Very old fashioned room where furniture was quite shabby and shower temperamental to say the least, the outer of the wastepaper basket was in need of a clean and the wall in this area was stained where t bags had been thrown into it. The bar was unmanned at 5pm and we had to go in search of bar staff. Breakfast looked delicious but unfortuately the hot buffet was lukewarm and this was 9.30am! We do no annticipate a return visit.

Lovely, old fashioned atmosphere, large comfortable lounge, waiter service etc. Quiet parkland surroundings. Well maintained fitness club/health spa c/w swimming pool. Large and well prepared function room. Very attentive and considerate staff. For our function, good value for money. The honeymoon suite was very luxurious and of a high standard. We all enjoyed our stay immensely apart from the breakfast arrangements. During the festive period which was when our function took place to expect party goers etc to want to have breakfast before 9 am was unrealistic to say the least .This resulted in a virtual stampede for breakfast around 8.45 am and the breakfast was tepid if not cold and unappetising. There were queues and the items were not replenished fast enough either. Not the fault of the staff but the orgainisation by the management I would say. Surely breakfast could be offered at "Sunday" times during festive period especially when the hotel is full.Flexibility is the key! The chimney in the lounge smoked badly, needs a clean maybe.

The location is lovely. The place has the odour of an old folks home!our room was basic but adequate.breakfast was poor....both "full scottish" and the continental was minimalistic to say the least...the tiniest of croissants and only tinned grapefuit or tinned satsumas!...cold toast...and no marmalade on table (just 6 jars of blackcurrant jam!), crumbs on window sill and whole dining area looked tired and dirty. No way I would have paid the full price for staying here...and a £2 credit card charge for transactions over £10 is absolutely ludicrous!!!

The location and setting were great. After change of room the room was lovely and improved the stay no end. Enjoyed a game of snooker in the snooker room. Originally put in a room which had a broken bed; appalling view into the deliveries area; shower which could not be adjusted and was too low for the average person to stand under and an old tv with only 5 channels available.Definitely not worth the cost that was being asked.

Food was great and if staying in hotel b&b pricing excellent for high quality. Staff all very helpful and attentive. Decoratively the hotel looks a little tired and our room whilst clean and comfortable did have an old crt tv that didnt work properly and a non functioning towelrail / bathroom heater, Reported on departure as neither were of issue for our one night stay.

a) WiFi available; b) the scrambled eggs at breakast were well prepared. a) Odour in the stairs and passageways; b) steak sliced thinner than I thought possible and therefore impossible to cook medium/rare - the charge of GBP20.00 for this disgraceful presentation is blatant profiteering. c) an additional charge at check-out for use of credit card.

Very friendly and helpful staff, many thanks! It's always so hard for families with 3 children staying in hotels - having to pay for 2 rooms is a pain. We could all have fitted into the larger room.
