Nice location by the river. Near the train station that connects to the the Queen Victoria station in London. Within walking distance to shops, malls and local farmers market.
The room was comfortable and bedding lovely. Breakfast was hot and a good variety. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Rooms are on the small size. Shower difficult to adjust but got there in the end.
Rooms clean but tired and worn. Small rooms- upgraded for free to larger room) Not very welcoming reception Faulty shower- flooded bathroom. Reported it but nothing done about it.
The location beside the Thames, and close to the Staines bus terminal. The restaurant overlooks the Thames. It is easy walking distance to the shopping area of Staines. The rail station is 12 minutes walk away, with a good service to Waterloo.
The hotel is not the most modern and we were allocated a room at the end of several corridors.
Room was beautiful! We had our own suite. We had our room leading off our own wing which was great and noise was to a minimum. Lay out was good and balcony view of the river was brilliant. Bed was comfortable, but to small for 2.
Bed was very small for 2 people! Room was way too hot and the shower was cold. Whether that's because it was peak time of checking out and everyone was using the water, that's no excuse! If you want a hot shower.. Your not getting it here.
Stayed here with my daughters and a friend for one night, purely whilst one of my daughters and her friend went to Thorpe Park Fright Night. The main appeal of this hotel was location, which is only around 3 miles from Thorpe Park. The front of the hotel is on a busy junction on a busy road, but the back overlooks the River Thames and on such a beautiful day as we had, it was lovely. We were upgraded to Privilege rooms (I had booked two Classic Doubles) and although they were nice, having now seen them, I wouldn't necessarily pay extra for them. So...location was good, rooms were clean and comfortable, both backing onto the river, nibbles were good and cheap and most staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
Difficulty of entering car park if approached from Thorpe Park direction. Car parking very restricted and inadequate for the size of hotel. Lots of double parking and blocking going on. Not wanting to pay £15 for breakfast for four of us (knowing that three of us would hardly eat a thing), I opted to just have a coffee before checking out. Nobody at the bar so I popped my head into the restaurant to ask where I might be able to get a coffee and the member of staff on duty at the door was extremely rude, virtually throwing a coffee cup, coffee pot and milk at me. I actually would have liked a latte, but was too scared to ask!! On mentioning this to the very friendly reception staff, I was advised that the hotel was full and all the staff were in the restaurant, hence there was nobody at the bar. This may be the case, but not my problem!!! Bathroom in our room (3) was rather tired whereas the shower room in my daughter's room (88) was much more modern and large. Other than that, all was fine and perfectly adequate for a short stay.
Amazingly helpful staff. I was upgraded to a room with a terrasse giving directly on the river which was really peaceful (for London). Then I left my house and car keys behind and Roberta from Reception had them sent by taxi to the airport. Excellent service.
I arrived late just before 10pm and only sandwiches were available from room service.
room staff food location late checkout
beer selection and prices (although that was to be expected)
Location. Had a very quiet room looking over the river. Comfortable bed. Close to local shopping area, train station and eateries.
Toilet would not flush properly dispute trying to get it fixed. Need a grab handle on wall as you step in and out of bath/shower...minor negative but would not stop me from staying again.
Friendliness of the staff Manager very helpful and moved us to an upgraded room Location Comfy bed
Bathroom not as clean as it should have been Toilet difficult to flush and shower head loose Not enough staff on in the bar to deal with the function that was con
Great hotel in a good location that is ideal for visiting local attractions.
Very good experience, clean and comfort, close to the city centre, free parking, the staff are so friendly.
No elevator, no drinking water in the rooms.
Proximity to Heathrow. Room clean and bed comfortable. Parking available.
Reception desk unmanned on arrival and door keys not working first time. Long walk to room, no offer of assistance despite elderly and unwell on arrival. No information available on meals. Bar staff hard to find when wanted. When found staff obsequience to the point of Dickensian farce. Shower inside bath which is very hard to get in and out of.
The morning staff was very friendly
Not be able to get wi-fi working The night staff not friendly at all
Rooms were lovely, staff helpful.
Room temperature was very uneven. One minute too cold, one minute too hot which made sleeping difficult. Also the bed was not the most comfortable.
The lccation - taking a cup of tea out into the garden. A nice supper in a comfy sofa on the first night. Staff happy for me to taste the red wines so that I found the one I liked best.
Breakfast and dinner with Thames view. Close to office location in Egham. Friendly staff Good quality WiFi Great food in the restaurant and bar areas Shops/restaurants/pubs on 2 min walking distance
Corridors look dated. But room looked good though. Bathroom also looked very good.
Great location, very helpful staff and a popular venue.
Location, the young french receptionist was fantastic, others were ignorant.
Hair dryer didnt work, parking was being used by non residents, needs redecorating and updating, overhead lights in room were full of dead bugs, cleaning was patchy.
excellent position on the river Thames, very convenient for visiting Windsor. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Rooms of a reasonable size with comfortable bed.
not a lot to dislike, rooms overlooking the car park can be noisy.
Perfect for Thorpe park
If you are looking for a lovely quiet night along to Thames I would advise against this place!!
Bed was 2 singles put together, could feel the ridge.
Great location Great size room Comfortable bed Great staff Nice cosy bar
Place is very good. It takes just 7 min to get to the train station by walk. Quiet place. Mattress was very comfortable. Good breakfast.
Dusty carpets, durty windows. No ventilation in the room. All taps in bathroom were broken. Low water pressure.
