The location, near Heathrow, near the offices I had to visit, No one at the reception when I arrived Monday evening. No one at the bar either. Had to call someone to show up. No way to control the temperature in the room. When I arrived I asked if the restaurant was open. Reception told me that only room service was available. I called room service and found out there was an extra 5gbp charge for room service. I asked if I could eat downstairs by the bar and was told yes. No charge for extra service. Next time don't try to cheat your customers! My "balcony" opened up to pigeon droppings everywhere Although I asked for a wake-up call Tuesday morning, no one called and I had to rush through my morning because of it. Called on Tuesday evening asking for an extra bed sheet, none arrived. Had to call back over 35 minutes later and remind someone to please bring it back.

Location Air-conditioning happened to be a fan. Cold water tap was not active and we had far too many problems which had to be sorted out in our rooms during the stay. Way overpriced!

Staff were very accomodating, room really confortable. Have paid alot more for alot less. Perfect for getting to Thorpe Park, less than 10mins away Only, slight, negative was the limited car parking on site, which should be pointed out more clearly. Only about 30 spaces, max. If you arrive in the evening as we did then it's unlikely you'll get a space. However, there is public parking adjacent to the hotel which costs £1 after 7pm until midnight but you have to get up to put more money in the machine by 8am the following day, then usual hourly rates apply

I booked the hotel as we were attending a friends party nearby. The friend then changed the date of his party and the hotel were very accommodating in changing the dates for me. As I had booked at a preferential rate, I was pleasantly surprised when they agreed to change the date with no charge. The hotel is conveniently positioned on the riverside in the middle of Staines which is a super town with some nice shops and market. A large Vue cinema and plenty of places to eat nearby plus the restaurant in the hotel itself.

I wrote to the hotel post-booking but pre-stay and received no reply, but when I wrote a second time (that time directly to the manager) the reply was prompt, kind and efficient, which I really appreciated. The room was clean, neat and had a nice view over the river. Breakfast was good and the staff pleasant and friendly. There is no lift and plenty of stairs, but my luggage was brought to my room. Overall, it was a good stay. The astronomical price of the phone calls (I made one 20 minute call to a uk mobile and was charged 28gbp, yes, 28 quid!) Was well beyond the bounds of an acceptable mark-up. There was a leak (from under the toilet) which wet part of the bathroom floor on both the nights I stayed at the hotel. I reported it the first afternoon, but it wasn't fixed. I covered it with a large bath towel, which absorbed the (fortunately clean) water but it should have been dealt with as soon as it was reported.

The setting by the river is lovely. You can have a drink in the evening by the river and breakfast in the restaurant. The car park was full for most of the 2 days we stayed (Sat & Sunday). We paid for a room with a river view (Rm 10). Problem is that this room is not as close to the river as most of the other rooms with a river view and also has trees blocking the view of the river. Its pleasant enough but not as good as we expected and only has a limited river view. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the room windows can only be opened slightly so its can get warm in the rooms in summer. Leaving the window open also means that you will hear people walking back from the pub on the public path between the room and the river in the early hours of the morning. This woke us up on Saturday night at 2.30am with a couple arguing outside our room on the path by the river. So choice is close the window and be very hot or leave it open so its not quite as hot, but risk being woken up. Would be solved with aircon in the room.

The view from the room, the walks near the river, the proximity to shopping center and restaurants/pubs. Day staff very strict! No sympathy for customers. They just want to get money out of you for everything.

Good location, good transport links. Excellent staff very friendly lovely view onto the Thames. Breakfast was very good staff couldn't be more helpful bringing fresh hot water and drinks. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to other family members. View from our room not the best as further developments been carried out on the hotel so looked at scaffolding. But other than that nothing to complain about.

The setting and view of river from our room. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the night of our visit due to a wedding reception as we had no prior notice this would be the case. We had a large and rather nasty stain on our sofa which looked very much like vomit which was very unpleasant. The fan and bathroom extractor fan did not work either.Other than that it was a pleasant and otherwise clean and tidy room.

The staff are fantastic, they couldn't do enough to help. We also had a nice quiet room. The breakfast is one of the best I have had at a hotel, really first class. Could have done with air con, room was boiling but appreciate that this is uk and we don't have many warm days. Room felt stuffy tho

Hotel is in excellent position for train/bus service and would be easy to get into london from here.It has great position on the River with bar terrace.Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the night we stayed due to a wedding reception, however the staff were so helpful and would have arranged a meal in the bar, and also provided us with loads of information about other restaurants in staines. The room which was a standard was excellent with lovely comfy bed and dressing area. The free parking onsite is also a great bonus. We would definitely stay here again, but upgrade to a river view room
