Lovely thatched cottage. Annex was ensuite. Nice large room. Quite location with easy access to road network. Denise very friendly. Made last minute arrangements because booking.com didn't let her know I was coming. Phoned at 9:00pm that I would be arriving in 30 minutes!
Poor reception on TV. Understand location rather than equipment. Room was cold when arrived but probably mainly due to booking.com not letting landlady know I was coming! room slightly dusty but okay.
Friendly greeting, clean and comfortable accommodation. A wide choice of cereals and cooked breakfast.
There was nothing that we did not like!
Shower didn't work properly in cottage.
- Quality of breakfast very good - Made welcome by the husband during second morning at breakfast - Lots of hot water on the first morning when we were the only occupants. - Lovely gardens - Easy parking
- Greeting was more a run down on the house rules than a welcome! - Booked a room with a large bed and was shown to an alternate room 'just in case we liked it' because they had overlooked the fact we had our dog with us. - Beds were like concrete - may suit some people but not us. - Room wasnt cleaned after the first night of our stay - bed not made, bathroom not tidied etc etc - Limited hot water on the second night of our stay when more than one room was occupied. - Limited breakfast choice "...and I may be able to find a kipper somewhere" - Very dark room, poor lighting, limited sockets
What a lovely place to stay. Comfortable lodge with en suite, choice of breakfast, well cooked and presented. Would love to go back there in the summer and use the outdoor pool. Highly recommended.
Lovely peaceful stay, in a beautiful property - lovely cottages in the gardens of the main property. Spotless and very comfortable, thank you.
Off road car parking. Availability of secured Wifi.
No hot water on arrival in the evening ! Breakfast - a cafetiere was not left out as promised. Small room for the price -considering not being en suite.
Staff helpfulness and communications
Wifi didn't work in cottage
Lovely welcome even though we arrived late. beautiful room and fantastic breakfast. The gardens are stunning and wished we were staying longer.
the setting and the accommodation absolutely ideal for our family stay the owners are very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable
The staff were very friendly. For us the guest house was in an excellent location. The breakfast choices are excellent and freshly cooked while you wait.
Essentially we had a relaxing venue to stay amongst wonderful scenic places to walk and drive through. Breakfast time would set us up for the whole day!
Cosy stay with so much character. Grounds and swimming pool superb
Very pleasant owners and very nice grounds. Breakfast was done to order and served in a very beautiful dining room. Definitely would recommend this place.
Denise was lovely and welcoming and the house was so pretty. Amazing jam for breakfast!
Lovely familiar atmosphere, very easy going. Welcoming, hearty & caring through and through. Amazing (tranquil) garden with lots of space for our 2-year old son and our little dog. Loved every minute of our stay! Even our friends were welcome to visit us. Delicious breakfast: full english breakfast plus fresh fruit, cereals, jam etc. Great stay, comfortable bed, excellent facilities, off-street parking, super location, great value for money! We will surely come back!
Our own space, the cottage was amazing, the family were welcoming and friendly willing to help. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. Was very relaxing and lovely place to stay.
The matress on the bed was a bit uncomfortable.
the cottage in the garden was perfect for us and our 9 month old twins. space for 2 travel cots (they provided and set up) and no one could hear us or wake the babies.
it's a shame the road doesn't have numbers as we drove past it twice! nothing within the owners control though.
The owners were friendly and welcoming, the breakfasts were delicious (served in the bar area overlooking a heated outdoor pool surrounded by mediterranean-style plants in pretty planters and tubs), the gardens were beautiful with lots of wildlife (made easier to watch by the thoughtful provision of a pair of binoculars), a garden centre was within a three minute walk and there was plenty to do within a short drive. The fact that we wanted to spend time at the guest house relaxing for a large proportion of our stay was not a problem for our very accommodating hosts - they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were even happy to let some of our family visit us while we were there. Highly recommended!
We had to take care using the single step down to the shower (which was large and wonderful to use) - this could be tricky for people with mobility problems. It would have been nice if the towels had been a bit fluffier but this is a minor point compared to all the pluses of this very pretty thatched cottage guest house.
It is very pretty with its thatched roofs. A good size pool, although we did not use it. Breakfasts were lovely. The owners are very welcoming. We will definitely stay there again.
Most visitors had dogs with them. Although I love dogs, some owners had not collected up after them, which was not good if you have children running around in the lovely gardens.
Very quiet area. Beds are very comfortable. Very accommodating for children. Breakfast area was lovely and a cooked breakfast was a bonus. All in all a very lovely property, we would stay here again and certainly recommend it. It was ideal for us as it was inbetween Paultons Park and Monkey World.
Swimming Pool Garden Location of the small cottage Breakfast Hosts
All was great - no real disappointments
Friendly, beautiful surrounds, privacy, delicious breakfast
higher than our preferred budget but in the absence of something else, we were very grateful for this place.
The friendly & welcoming manner of the owners. Excellent food. Lovely gardens & pool.
Our room was possibly a little too cluttered with furniture and rather dark; we needed to put the light on during daylight hours. However, not a major issue & one possibly that could be rectified with lighter walls and furnishings.
