Extremely clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff warm and friendly.
If we were staying again we would request a room with a shower cubicle.
Staff very helpful and food excellent. Lovely bathroom.
no one gave me a key to enter at night.I returned at 10.45 one night to find I was locked out.Another guest let me in but I had to search building for my room key.
Good location friendly helpful staff.
No proper shower facility, breakfast ingredients quite poor.
Full length bed (for tall person!), room with considerable character, friendly welcome
No wifi, probably the only quibble
Location ,friendly staff
Friendly and helpful staff. Location in town
First twin room was noisy and hot because it was over kitchen/equipment. Sleep very poor. Were offered second room which was much quiter and eventually cooler - but still warmer than ideal. Sleep better.
Very comfortable beds. Excellent shower. Lovely breakfast.
We didn't sleep a wink due to constant stream of people steaming out of the pubs until way past 3am. This is so unfortunate because it's obviously not the hotels fault but due to this, I wouldnt go back.
Leaky shower (which was fixed)
Over cooked eggs at breakfast !
Staff were friendly. bed was comfortable
Spotted the chef in a filthy chefs jacket. The risotto which I ordered was swimming in fluid
The setting is ideal for a stay near to Rutland Water
Sadly we could not face a second night here. The chillers for the kitchen and cellar are mounted on the outside wall of room 5. The noise and vibration through the walls was constant and unbearable. The staff were very understanding and aware of the problem. As no other rooms were available for our second night, but was possible for the third we decided not to stay nor take the breakfast. The Managaeress was more than apologetic and very professional in handling our complaint, but as she stated they must try to improve this situation as we were not the only people to have found this unbearable. Shame as the room and it's cleanliness is excellent.
Staff very friendly and attentive Comfortable bed and nice little touches in the room. ie: tea/coffee, bottled water, biscuits and chocolates on pillows.
Décor a little tired looking but as the place is under administration and awaiting new owners so therefore understand things are not as they should be
Excellent friendly staff, breakfast, good value & location would stay again
nothing you get everything you pay for
I loved my stay staff great could domore to help
Location was good and the staff were helpful.
Room eight, on two occasions the shower ran cold and it wasn't able to get even warm. We ate on both nights of our stay and I thought the food was poor.
Room Quiet and Clean , good firm bed , excellent breakfast - good Beer , Dinner was not as good as could have been but will book again .
too small car park
Room was clean and comfortable enough for an overnight stay (although it was rather cramped so I'm not sure I'd want to stay much longer). Local Real Ale is available at the bar.
There was a lack of space for working in my room in the evening - no proper table or chair so I ended up having to balance my laptop rather awkwardly to do any work. Breakfast was "interesting". The smallest sausage I'd ever seen came with half a mushroom and half a tomato which I considered mean (especially as I'd asked for no bacon) and said so - the response was that the hotel was in Administration and everything was being portion-controlled as a result!
Homely and individual rooms. Small and friendly with great food. Excellent country pub experience in a small interesting market town.
Very helpful and kind staff. Nothing was to much trouble. Rooms were very comfy and breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
lovely position of our room
Guests overhead so inevitable slight noise
Location, and freindly staff
Going round in circles trying to find the hotel car park
staff brill, I was going fishing the next morning ,i was asked if i wanted an early breakfast,i did and it was very good . So was the fishing. Thanks , PETER and JANET
cOULD NOT STAY LONGER PETE,JAN
The room we had was lovely and comfortable, the roll top bath was nice and big
the meal at the evening, wasnt very nice, the staff were good but as soon as a big party turned up we were ignored
Excellent breakfast, the food was very good.
The bed was quite uncomfortable, I expect quite old. When running the taps in the bathroom, I scolded my hand, on the cold tap! It ran very very hot for a very long time before it eventually became cold. Shower door wouldn't open/close, very dated.
